Both players are mediocre TBH.
Everyone is mediocre to you.
Sell Sell Sell has put us in this situation of calling on rookies to make up match day squads.

Who would have thought a John O'Shea or Wesley Brown was gonna play a vital role in title wins someday?
Or a Fellaini/Young vital to a UCL spot last term.

Yeah, they don't play the same wing. But if I'm to choose, Pereira over Lingaard for me.

Bellerin is good defensively o (though he's not perfect), there's a reason Pique and Iniesta congratulated him personally after the Gayners ràpe. Full-backs nowadays are more attack minded than defense minded.
I always thought Pereira was a CM.
I don't think he is,bellerin I mean
that congratulation simply when Hector is in his absolute prime he dey go camp nou back.

Scummies never learn, do they??
This was how the started comparing the fish to Ronaldo after playing a useless team at home in the playoffs........

A MOTM performance against a group of Carpenters that played their last competitive game in December is now something....
We also now know Hazard's level.
I heard he's only been able to score from open play against U-21s.

Perreira is a fine Player but he's just very unlucky at the moment. Give him a run of games then Mata might end up on the Bench until he's sold!
If you are doubting his qualities, kindly watch his video clips! Trust me you gonna be convinced to trust his potentials!

It's either You are not getting the bigger picture I'm painting or you didn't read my ist post thoroughly.

Zlatan plays with a COMPLETE TEAM. A star studded team that even outplayed Madrid. A team that will ràpe MidgetLand that we lost against. A team that has Thiago Silva, Thiago Motta, Verrati, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Di Maria, Aurier, Cavani. Should I continue? Now juxtapose that team with Snail Mata, Cluessless Hererra, Annoying Depay, Fat Pensioner Rooney, childish Lingard, Varela and Borthwick-Jackson, Geriatric Carrick and Schweinsteiger, dumb Jones, one-legged Valencia; and tell me which team Zlatan will thrive in. This is an apples-orange analogy you are bringing up.

I clearly stated that if we can get other quality players for other positions on our team, then getting CR7 will be a bonus and I will gladly welcome the purchase. Right now, we need a quality TEAM not ONE quality individual.
did i say we shouldn't purchase anyone else apart 4rm RonaLdo?? I'm only saying that if he's available we should get him, no de put word 4ma mouth abeg.

On the Lingard and Perrera issue, if I'm to choose, I'll go for Perrera without an ounce of doubt; give him the same time that has been afforded to Lingard and if he performs better, I'll play him more. For now, Lingard is just an ordinary player. Nothing exceptional about him jare.

You got it wrong. Perreira was given opportunity first but he messed up. In Capital 1 cup against Ipswich he was just there, but he scored a good goal.

Against Wolfsburg he was a liability when he came on. I think he and Darmian were the reason we went under severe pressure late on at Old Trafford.

Lingard was brought on at half time against Everton, his first game of the season. He immediately showed signs. In our next match against CSKA at away, he played very well. When I choosed Valencia as MOTM, many people here went for Lingard. And we had an argument for three days.

Against CSKA at home, he played like he has been a UCL player for ages. He played from both sides of the wing and gave a performance almost as Mephis gave last Thursday.

Lingard earned his place at the slightest opportunity. Perreira failure to grab his place brought Lingard to the fore.

It looks like people easily forget so soon, and the sympathy is always for those who are on the bench.

When people talk about U-20, they forget Lingard was our best player in preseason under Moyes. He was one of the best attacking players in preseason when Gaal first arrived. But in our first EPL match of the season, he twisted his leg and sustained a serious injury. Last preseason he was also one of our best in preseason.

However, overall he has been average after his first great three matches. May be he did very well in those matches because he was playing in front of Valencia/Young.

That's the point....

The aforementioned players would be amongst the top 5 players in the club, if they were still around.

That's how bad things are A.T.M...

Preseason at senior level. Someone said U-20 for Brazil. Which is better?

When we beat Barca that season, we went to achieve great results in the early part of the season beating Arsenal 8-2, Tottenham 3-0, Bolton 5-0, Chelsea 3-1.

We won our first 6 matches, plus the Shield we beat City 3-2 coming from two goals down in the second half. It was injuries that spoilt what would have been our best season ever. Our midfielders and defenders had their worst injury spell ever. If SAF knew he would have kept Oshea that season, and there was no way City would have been Champions on goals difference.

When Oshea left, it looked like a wise decision because we needed Smalling, Jones and Evans to grow. But we immediately missed him in 2011/2012 season. If he were around we would have won the league that season. We didn't have a reliable squad player to fill the gaps left due to injuries. Till today, we still don't have such a quality utility squad player to call on to fill gaps in CB, FB and DM.

I really enjoy kicking their asses. I 'll love to see van Gurl's face after we bash her. I'll love to hear United fans moan when they check the table and see their team in 7th position.

Even every world class squad consists of some squad players, not everyone understands this. But there are certain limits to it, and that's the boundary separating goods squads from mediocre ones.
There are some squad players we should have move on from though and i see nothing wrong in selling these players but what i fault is not bringing in adequate replacements which has been part of the causes for our failure this season, and what is ultimately gonna cost LVG his job.

People who are arguing that he's a poor winger are basically missing the point, and seemingly followers of the Moyesian school of football. He isn't a winger, he's a forward, which is illustrated by the amount of goals he scores per 90 minutes played in the league (Squwaka).

0.43 - Lingard
0.35 - Martial
0.33 - Rooney
0.18 - Mata
0.17 - Fellaini - Depay - Herrera

Lingard is in the team because he's more direct than someone like Valencia, who like a robot tries to get to the byline and put in aimless crosses over and over. He's also more direct than a player like Mata who is far too static when he plays on the wing and offers very little goal threat, illustrated by his last PL goal being scored 3 and a half months ago.

I'm not saying he's a regular starter for the club or he should be, but the criticism he gets from some is silly considering how much worse some players are performing relative to their standing in the game. It's almost as if people think that dropping Lingard would magically improve Mata's form.

The two worst attacking displays I have seen in the league this season were away to Crystal Palace and home to Norwich, Lingard played in neither game, Mata played in both.
3 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 games, some have been against poor clubs but that's a decent return for a winger and he proves to be quite an important player for us. I can't understand the amount of stick he gets, he's no Reus no but he's doing a decent job for us.

SIRcumalot:

Pereira and lingaard no dey play the same position na,
I agree that lingaard is average the goals he scored don cover people eye don't much about pererira
bellerin isn't good defensively he'll be exposed today.
I don't really rate him and think he lacks several attributes to be a top level player. In fact, sometimes when I watch him, I think he would struggle to get into Championship teams. But he does have a knack of nicking a goal, as-well as missing some absolute sitters. If LvG goes this summer and we assemble a more functional team, a player like Lingard could thrive as a squad player or a starter in the lesser games. It's hard to know what his future holds.

Playing Carrick at CB is a bold but stupid move. We're obviously going to try and dominate the game but I'd have preferred Rojo at CB and Riley at LB.
