it's not done separately walimat tu nikkah means wedding ceremony.
maybe what u mean is akhilu nikkah, that is like mini wedding for peeps that want wed but are not finacially buoyant enough. that is done to avoid fornication.

lol, don't be confused, walimat nikkah literarily means wedding ceremony or igbeyawo.it is done in a day, it's not done separately. walimat means ceremony eg there is also walimat quran(like a graduation ceremony), etc

One of my nephews,, yes,,, a 3yr old boy,, fell off from 3storey Building.. Harmless,, just a lil. I mean a lil bruise on his left leg.. We went for x-ray ,,, no internal injury sustained... No broken bone... He is just set and alryt.... I give God the glory and adoration.... The God wey do am for us go do am for una oh... Amen

DTOBS

Nikkah means marriage i.e the union between a man and a woman to become husband and wife.

The criteria for this include; Parent's approval, witnesses and paying the bride price.

Once these have been done, then they are legically married.

But there is also need to announce and celebrate it [not necessarily immediately] for people to know that they are married hence walimatu nikkah (wedding or marriage ceremony) Which could be done at a later date.

My fellow PCMs 2mao(March 1st) is my birthday....would have probably travelled by now if camp was still going to be on the 2nd...but I will be flexing myself 2mao and i'm so going to enjoy myself...Thank God 2mao is my day off @ work.

it aint what you think.
for a valid nikkah all you need is the presence of the groom and bride, their parents, payment of mahr(dowry) to the bride and two witnesses( just like how xtians go for wedding in church; do they feed guest there?) then after the walimot can take place for friends and well wishers. some do the nikkah and walimat separately (maybe due to finances or time factor)while some together. ur choice.
