Hello Team, I hope we all had a good day. I have been a semi-silent reader, I hope to have my 2nd child (1st is proudly Nigerian) this year BGG. I have a disturbing issue I require clarity on - My brother (a US citizen by birth) filed (petition for alien relative F4) for me since Feb 2013, the filing takes as long as 10 years...; Now I plan to give birth in USA and wonder if this pending petition will affect my B1/B2 visa been approved, though the LagosNIV, some websites and even the US Immigration website says the petition doesn't pose for an outright ineligibility but I will like to know if anyone here got visa for childbirth with a pending petition. Thanks guys!!! |

Hello Zumabeezle I even copied kendrababe and harry not u so why do u think I'm offended? 1st I don't think 'too much statements ' is an issue as long as u arrange it well and can defend it. I do however have an ish with mumsi's statement. IMO it shows u and oga don't have enough funds and are resorting to mumsi's funds. That Is not what they are looking for. You must have calculated what everything will cost u. If its 2.5m do u have anything left in the account? If not, that's not very good. N200 conversion rate may not be good enough because the bank can only give u 8k (u and oga) Sorry it seems all I did was poke holes in your application but its so u be prepared. Peace |

Zumabeezle: Do you have an idea why you may have been called in for the interview after applying via the Dropbox route. Is this your first baby? Have you ever overstayed duration granted? Or does any other thing come to mind? Did your application state medicals? Or just tourism/business? 1 Like |

TheLeakyTribe: Thank you. I have no idea why i was called. Yes this is my first baby. Never overstayed. Infact my last visit in October was just for 12 or 13 days. Since i had a previous b1/b2, i selected the option of tourism /biz, so i can be renewed on same category. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Zumabeezle: 6:46pm On Mar 01, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere: Thank you. Sadly that's all d money i have. And the truth is that mum is also supporting me coz she knows that's all we have. Hubby is not going. so PTA is from me and mum. And hoping to pay thru form A even b4 i get there. My brother will pre-register me. Or maybe i should just use myself and mummy for sponsor instead of using hubby. Hmmm. I don't even know what to do. God help me. Thank u. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by TheLeakyTribe(f): 6:57pm On Mar 01, 2016 |
Zumabeezle: Okay. If you had filled in Medicals it's the same category. That's what I did for my Dropbox even though the initial one was tourism/business. It's still the same B1/B2 but at least if you're called in, it would be clear that you indicated the medical nature of your trip. Anyway it's nothing to worry about. People get called and still get their Visas, I've read a couple here. Have faith, do research and be confident. Get your documents ready too just in case. If your status has changed in any way between the previous two applications maybe that's why you were called in. Have no fear. |

Theleakytribe and Zumabeezle, You don't need to have had any issues previously. People get called for interview. I think it's almost like picking a sample size out of the drop box population for interview. That said, it's not a big deal, what makes it a big deal is that you are planning to deliver and that budget is key. Do not panic at all, several of my friends and family have d been called for interview after a drop box application. Lady G, it's better we pick holes in the application now so that she can sail through. I think a budget of 2.5m for the interview is low. These people have been seeing budgets of 3.5 to 6m mostly. Can the budget be revised? Also, please note that it will be good to show a reasonable cash balance after taking about the budget amount because they simply can't wrap their head around why one will use all of one's life savings to have one baby. These statements you are carrying may not even be checked at all as long as you are articulate and God shows you Grace (this isn't your first visa), however, you need to still carry them. Mumsy's statement is one kind....I think you should leave that out. quote author=TheLeakyTribe post=43392322] Do you have an idea why you may have been called in for the interview after applying via the Dropbox route. Zumabeezele, I just read the part where you said that's all the money you have. Let me tell you what I would do in your position. Since I have access to my mum's funds and I know I can use it if need be in the US, I would take out of that money, fix it in my name and add the investment certificate to the bank statements. Let's say you fix another 2m and revise your budget to like 3.5m. That way you don't have any sudden deposits going into your account. I almost didn't type this cos I know some people might throw bullets at me but am so uncomfortable with that 2.5m and I don't want you to fail. Let me quickly hide. Bye. 1 Like |

TheLeakyTribe: Oh yes. I changed jobs. That must be it. Now i feel better. And i'll just use mum and I as sponsors. Sebi they can't say my mother cannot give me money. Thanks so so much. It's good to talk to people. 1 Like |

happytbaby: Thank u. Pls don't hide. my interview is on Tuesday. If i fix the money now won't it be somehow? I'll have to explain where i suddenly got the money from. Same reason why i didn't bother transferring the money to my personal account. They will know I'm doing it just for d interview. So isn't it better to just tell the VO upfront that my mum and i are sponsoring this journey and i have access to the funds in the account as I'm a co-signatory. May God favour me. |

Okay babes, not to worry too much share. Mostly this interview after drop box is easy peasey. About the investment booking, your investment could have matured and was rolled over so no big deal in the date. Zumabeezle: |

Zumabeezle, You have nothing to worry about when it comes to the financial but don't use your mum as a sponsor, find a way to work it that it's you & your husband.... I don't know ooo, but it sounds off, my opinion. Your moniker is fiyah BTW. |

Hi, If that's what you want to do, then you should get a letter from the bank stating that you are also a signatory to the acct. Zumabeezle: 1 Like |

Zumabeezle: Babe we arent Visa Officers but we think you should really consider not using your moms account. Most onyinbo ppl rnt big on relationships like we are..(papa fit de bankrupt mak pikin de flenjo and thy see notin wrong). Someone once asked my uncle why he was suffering to pay his kids school fees when as citizens they could get a loan on their own. D man laughed at such mentality and replied, why let my kids start life in debt when i can help? People wth such mentality may not understand your moms intention to help. Thy may just wonder y u and hubby cnt afford d birth on ur own. Best case.. if you must include your mom, fix parr of her money like @happytbaby said. Or get d bank to issue a letter confirming you are a signatory... 1 Like |
