If you want to know the difference between Igbos and Yorubas. Go to port harcourt. Some Yorubas have been there for decades working for oil companies but not one single investment in housing or business or even giving back to the community. But Igbos will go to Lagos and other western and northern states and invest all their life work and sweat there. How can you invest so much of your blood and sweat in a hostile environment. I just can't understand. The locals are just silently waiting for the day they will claim your business and property. It is just pathetic. As for me, I will invest all my wealth in Igboland. I am not looking back. I will rather expand to Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gabon than go to Lagos or north. One Nigeria is a big scam and the people who preach it everyday don't even believe in it. 10 Likes 1 Share |

VANHELLSING: Why call me out? You know I am 100% against the nonsense of migrating and investing outside Igboland. None of you fools love Igbo like I do and mine is practical. Yours is trying to create war because Jonathan lost and I will never support that because I know Jonathans people hate us most. I have always made it clear about my love for Igboland, Igbo culture , Igbo peace and Igbo development. You IPOB people can continue your child's play because Jonathan was defeated. 5 Likes |

asha80: I think they rather want faster return on investment and not the Abia Government's fault. If INNOSON was in Lagos he would have made better sales than Nnewi but he was wise enough to site his firm in Nnewi despite all the challenges and resultant poor sales. A wise man looks beyond immediate gains towards strategic importance. . 5 Likes |

Are you actually paid for commenting all day and throughout the night on virtually every thread on NL? Can't you hopeless and jobless old man get a life outside NL for once? I have warned you to stay away from us and stop mentioning Anambra or any part thereof in your usual incoherent tirade. INNOSON is making great sales within and outside SE because Anambra as a whole is an economically viable state and attracts people just like Lagos. Focus on your failed worthless imo state. Don't worry imo thread will soon see another disaster.. [s] Abagworo:[/s] 7 Likes |

There's a generation of Igbos in their 40's and above who are still running to pour their money into Lagos,Abuja, Kaduna etc that are all outside Igbo land. I can understand that some of these places are strategic due to federal government presence, high population, sea port etc. However, those of us coming up will not invest one penny outside Igbo land. We are too wise to make the mistake our seniors made when they bought into the fallacy called 'one Nigeria' 7 Likes |

VANHELLSING: Stop hating on everybody. You hate on Yorubas, Hausas, Fulani (that one na confirm), Efik, Ibibio, Izon, Jukun now even your kinsmen from home. How much of the money did they make from "home"? If I may ask, have you put in the kind of effort, sacrifice, and risks that they've put in over the years? Why should they listen to you concerning sound investment plans when you hardly have such equivalent success story to buttress your point? Lagos holds 15-25 million people at any one time. Has a functional seaport and economy. Lagos is largely safe for locals and expats and the go-to business hub of W.Africa and I dare say, the entire African continent. Lagos is fast developing and if you concentrated in your basic economics class, you would recall reasons for not only location of industry but localisation of industry. Try not to be bitter about other people's investment. Go make your own and show others how it should be done. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Why don't they take it to Aba or Enugu then? Lagos and Environs have more people than the entire SE.... Incase you all do not know. Many of you saying thrash here probably live in lagos or within a 100km radius of the city....Lmao. So in all your minds, you are free to come to lagos, Contribute dirt and filth, place constraints on its transportation, health and service sectors and then contribute nothing? Funny people. You can E-mail the owners and tell them to move their business to the East, maybe they will listen to you. 2 Likes |

Adelaide2:Isn't it weird the way you keep talking about the handfull of Igbo investments made in that sprawling city, and then conveniently neglect the millions of poor Igbos that live there and WORK in the state owned sectors? Let Igbos businessmen start investing in the South-East quite alright, no problem. BUT if Ambode starts sending every person of Igbo origin back, don't complain. You can't be in Lagos to make money and then use the proceeds to build a duplex somewhere in Enugu while making the source of your income dirty and congested. 3 Likes |

scholes0: That in bold is a good reason why Igbos should invest back in Igboland. That will lead to less people trouping to Lagos, as well as many of the Igbos in Lagos relocating to go and work in these investments in SE. If any Igbo is found qualified to work in the public sector in Lagos, they are welcome to be employed by the Lagos govt. They will pay taxes in Lagos. BTW, Igbo investment in Lagos is more than a handful. Do not belittle it, ungratefully 4 Likes |

Adelaide2: It is good, I support it, we are on the same page. However, Lagos is already a city set to prosper...... Have that at the back of your mind. It is a strategic city located between West Africa, and The rest of Nigeria. By now, the upward trend of Lagos and environs can't be reversed anymore. Infact I would advice Yorubas living in Lagos to do the same by investing in the hinterland of Yorubaland, so that SW regional development can be a bit more even. Look for example, The FG completely ignores the rest of the region while focusing solely on Lagos. Every Nigerian gets to use all the facilities built in Lagos, while Yorubas from other states of the SW get nothing.... Now is that fair? Enugu, Uyo, Asaba, Owerri, Port harcourt, Calabar, Benin, Warri all have airports. Infact GEJ was already building another one in Bayelsa........ While in the SW, it is just Lagos, Akure and Ibadan. Does that look balanced to you? Many other cases. 2 Likes |

zendy: Many Igbos are not endowed with the kind of wisdom some of us possess. There was a systemic deprivation aided involuntarily by Igbos. In 2006 during the census then MASSOB irate like IPOB of today caused the undercounting of Igbos thereby reducing our official population. We need to make full use of every opportunity to right some wrongs and Jonathan further diminished us and the present action of IPOB is diminishing us further. 1 Like |

scholes0: I completely agree with you. There is so much imbalance in Nigeria. Yet we cry about the over-use of a few cities by everyone. Nigeria should deliberately spread development to all regions. That way we save the ecosystem of the congested areas while developing new frontiers for growth and development. Any wonder why nearly all parts of the US have considerably similar development? They are not stupid who make (or at least try to make) things even/equal for everyone. 2 Likes |

Abagworo: I personally think Rivers state was BLOATED /Overcounted It officially has almost as much people as Imo and Abia combined, when there is basically nothing below Port Harcourt, and the entire place is littered with creeks. Who is deceiving who... While Ogun, Oyo and Lagos were grossly undercounted. Everyone was in shock when they came back and lied to all our sensibilities by telling us Lagos had just 9 million people, and Oyo had just 5.5, when Ibadan alone is approaching 4. 1 Like |

Adelaide2: Small SA that is 1/3.5 our population have at least 4 world class cities that stand solidly anywhere in the world, and some people are here wanting to die over Lagos. Even Abuja is a money sink just gulping money and producing nothing. Is it no surprise then, that most of the city s sprawling flats and houses, without a dedicated CBD or Industrial Zone...... Add to that, many satellite slum exclaves surrounding the outskirts of the city Ibadan and Port Harcourt are the biggest disgraces to 21st century Africa. Forget all that "Oil city" rhetoric, most of PH is rubbish filled with slums. 70% of Ibadan is a dump. Although It's own case can even be excused (for many reasons). Lagos draining effect among others. maybe PH too has suffered tome government neglect. A country like Nigeria can't afford to be a one city giant, it just isn't sustainable, and that is why I support your "Igbos should invest in igboland rhetoric". Yorubas should do the same and Invest in EKITI .... You would be surprised how many children people of Ekiti origin have in Lagos, thinking that is their state of origin. 2 Likes |
