Hello Team, I hope we all had a good day. I have been a semi-silent reader, I hope to have my 2nd child (1st is proudly Nigerian) this year BGG. I have a disturbing issue I require clarity on - My brother (a US citizen by birth) filed (petition for alien relative F4) for me since Feb 2013, the filing takes as long as 10 years...; Now I plan to give birth in USA and wonder if this pending petition will affect my B1/B2 visa been approved, though the LagosNIV, some websites and even the US Immigration website says the petition doesn't pose for an outright ineligibility but I will like to know if anyone here got visa for childbirth with a pending petition. Thanks guys!!!
One issue with pending petition is that when applying for a b1b2, you are seen as a potential immigrants. For you to get the visa, you have to prove to them you aren't migrating yet.

My advice to you will be to apply alone without your son & hubby for now. At least that will convince them you plan returning after childbirth. Good luck

True oooh.

I remember how my mother used to carry 2 bottles of water inside her bag for me. Cos a bottle in the hospital vending machine was 2dollar fifty and a pack of 24 was 5dollars in the store. She wouldn't let me buy water o, she would wrap the bottles in clothes to keep them cool inside Arizona Sun. Those days dollar was 163.5 set.

Between which I have come to realise that even my rich friends don't bUy hotel drinks, we all go to a nearby store buy cheaper ones, stock the fridge and be saying hello to the ones hotel provided from a safe distance.

Kikikiki

shrekandfiona:

Go to any walmart close to you, they sell 5 litre refill for a quarter (25cent). They also sell a pack of 24 50cl for about $2.99.

Na big man dey buy one one bottle for 3$ o

The much awaited Testimony arrived few hours ago to the Glory of Almighty God. DW & LO are doing fine.

Breakdown Below (Bills so Far):
Hospital (WHMC) $3,000 VD, Dr. La $2,500, Initial Visit $145, Ultrasound Anatomy $250, 3rd Trimester Hiv $50, Pap Smear $225, Group B Strep $50, Another Test $80 (replacement for Glucose Tolerance Challenge which was done in 9ja).
The following Tests were done in 9ja: Rubella, Blood Group & RH type, Hepatitis B with Surface Antigen, VDRL/syphilis, genotype & Glucose Tolerance Challenge.

Special Thanks to God for his grace and mercies and for every contributor to this thread, I say Thank You. Everything was a Breeze, from Visa Interview to getting PTA & entering Houston POE without any question asked (Not even why are you in the US?) and to the arrival of our March 1st Baby.

Let me also add a word of encouragement for folks who have experienced loss in whatever form, I decree in the name of Jesus, You will recover all. DW had a MC sometimes last year and it was a very agonizing period for us, fast-forward to 2016, we are testifying to the gracious mercies of the Lord and his wondrous works.

To all expectant Fathers and Mothers, Na so so good news we go dey hear by the grace of God.

Found it for ya

Here's her post:

mrsbw:
okay guys..wanted to wait to be debited before confirming the Form A stuff.

I intend using Dr La and WHMC. WHMC does not accept wire transfers, so I got Dr La's wire transfer details.

I went to Stanbic IBTC on Thursday for the processing.

Documents required:
a) Letter of reference from specialist doctor, or specialist hospital in Nigeria -
b) Completed Form A
c) Passport, visa and air ticket
d) Correspondence with overseas specialist doctor stating the cost of treatment etc.

Filled the form; requested for payment of doctors fees only (paid $3,000) and included my doctor's bank details. The requirement doesn't state just hospitals can be credited. It only states that it must be for medical treatment. So, I guess if you can provide your doctors correspondence (with his letterhead) and they can match it to the bank details. I guess they can also check the doctor online if they want.

Got debited the ffg this morning: Transaction: 598500; telex charge: 4000; offshore charge: $25 = 4987.50; Bank commission 0.5% = 3142.13
Total was 610629.6 which came to about N203.5 per $.

So you can actually pay for just doctor or doctor and hospital if your hospital accepts transfers.

Noticed in the CBN requirement page that if the doctor includes cost of maintenance, that cost of treatment can be made payable to the hospital and the cost of maintenance to the applicant if the applicant is an outpatient; but I did not explore that oh. Only paid doctor's bill.

Also, I had initially gone to UBA and they said they dont process Form A for childbirth. GTB said I'll be on a wait list for at least a month. Went to stanbic after @onlineise post on Wednesday, and it got processed in 48hours. Thanks so much @onlineise you are a life saver!

Pls remember to collect your telex copy from the bank as proof of payment

Hope this helps cc: @biollar1 @chloe7 @kemo88 @beautyx5

Cobiss:
Thank you so much. Will check it out.

Hello Everyone,

I want to appreciate everyone for sharing vital information and guideance for free. I started following up this thread Jan and it has been helpful so far. After contacting several hospitals which i got from here and from great mothers whom answer me on PM. I have been able to be in communication with Dr. La and they have been very helpful. They requested for a Non-Refundable fee of $150.00 to book an appointment which I did over the phone by using my wife card and the receipt and acknowledgement for receipt of payment was sent. Now i am waiting to get the Appointment Letter.

Now, Please i need a clarification.

I want to book for an appoiment/interview thinking using their Abuja consulate. My wife and our first baby who is a year plus and my sister who has the same surname with my wife will be the one to go for the interview. I want to know when filling the application, should i add my little sister, my wife and baby on same application?

Will i fill the hospital address as their destination on the application online? or i should locate a hotel and use the hotel address instead?

Please, i need clarification. As i am planning to book for an appointment with them this month.

Thank You!

Thank u nefertitiram. I appreciate the encouragement.

I also did dropbox and was called for interview, basically because I spent 5mths during my last trip. All I did was carry my baby there, and luckily, I was interviewed by a woman who was very understanding. She didn't ask too many questions and only wanted to see the receipts. Then went on to apologize for making us come all the way.

I'm sure something on your ds160 warranted being interviewed. Did you have previous babies in US?

That awkward moment when you realize a 70cl bottle of water is $3.

$3 * $/N320 = N960 cry

For these stress and sacrifice alone God will make our LO leaders in thier various fields and generation.

Welcome to New York! It's been waiting for you!

I nearly passed out the day I bought water for $3 at grand central station. When I protested, the guy only shrugged and said "hey baby, it's new york. You want cheap water, go to jersey"

I just weak. It's only in USA that 2 litre coke is 99 cents and water is $3. And they are asking why diabetes and obesity is a problem for them?

Hi,

LadyG responded to someone yday regarding this. See below:

1. No it isn't possible for your mother and wife to apply on the same form. Each person will fill her ds 160 and pay visa fees. For detailed info, please refer to the us website. They can get the same interview time and MAY be interviewed together. Families are interviewed together. I do not know. If a MIL and daughter in law will be construed as family. Basically, all man should tidy em side in case of incasity.

2) when I applied I used the hospital address as my destination and I also used someone's name at d hosp as d contact person.

Hello house, just passing by and thought to hail everyone. I've been back from my missionary journey for over a month now. Congrats to those with successful VO and POE testimonials.

Firsttymum, FinanceFitness, tvegas, nogen, justwise, Shawlar, nefertiti, neks, ladyG and every every. God used you guys to guide me from VO through POE to documentation and back. cool grin kiss Thank you.

God bless everyone that's passed on information freely and made the journey smooth and seamless for the next person.

This platform saved me from goofing;
1. I was able to negotiate about 60% off an unexpected bill;
2. Got my BC and passport same day-meanwhile i met a non-nairalander naija mom who was headed to a post office with her baby's BC. I'd never heard of such, but before I could share the info on passport office appt with her, she'd left the BC office. I felt bad for her lack of info. She even looked at me weird when I mentioned I was headed to the passport office shocked shocked shocked

3. The ETC process with Amb. Stella is just sweet. Very pleasant woman. I've referred 4 friends to her so far. grin grin grin

To everyone that's contributed to the wealth of info here;may you be watered as well wink wink wink

I give God all the glory for a successful missionary journey. May he bless, preserve and protect our Children in Jesus Name! Amen.
Awwww
God bless you
May God replenish your finances
Wish you speed post partum recovery.
God bless you and yours

it is best you don't go there saying your mum is paying for the trip. It raises unnecessary flags. stick with your statement and have an investment certificate from your mum's cash. Don't even mention her giving you money for the trip at all!

Oh yes. I changed jobs. That must be it. Now i feel better. And i'll just use mum and I as sponsors. Sebi they can't say my mother cannot give me money.

My husband has a pending f4 and yet he has a b1/b2 visa

I mean he is obviously not pregnant but hey....

Just fill your form truthfully and in the space where they ask if you have a pending immigration status say yes and explain why you are not a flight risk:
Reasons could be
1. High salary: you are not going to leave a high flyin career to be illegal in the USA

2. Family - husband and children

3. Any other thing you see as a tie

Be very convincing - your form will sell you before you even open your mouth

All the best

What they give for free is tap water though. The thing has a little taste to me.

A lot of them drink it though

Water at Walmart or sam's club especially their own brand called right choice is ridiculously cheap

Buy water filter-the jug type and fill from your tap cos even Americans themselves drink tap water.
