You mean will CGFNS process your application without a transcript? You can probably ask them. |

tpiar: My question is will they insist on both transcripts or can they go-ahead with the nursing transcript only? Will they hold on processing my papers indefinitely because of this issue? Someone suggested that I cancel the order that mentions the problematic school and create a new order with just the details from the nursing school, so I am confused, and that is basically why i came here - to use one of several lifelines You provided a valid suggestion, ask them, but i wanted to know if someone has passed through a similar and what they had to pass through so that I would be properly guided |

MPVGoddess:i think you should let cgfns know of the condition of your school of Midwifery. They will tell you the best route to take. Do you have your course outline with detailed description? If yes, ask if you can provide that as alternative to your transcripts. If no? Ask if you can use your licence and notification letter from Nursing council. |

tresbel:to work as a nurse in canada you must first submit your transcripts for Credentials Evaluation by NNAS How to Apply Apply to the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) 1. Set up an online account with National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) at www.nnas.ca. 2. Complete the online application. 3.Pay the required fee. 4.Follow the instructions about which documents to submit for verification. 5.Once your file is complete, NNAS will evaluate it and provide you with online access to an Advisory Report, which contains the results of the evaluation. NNAS will also send a copy of this report to the relevant regulatory body. You can now apply directly to the regulatory body of your choice and pay their application fee (the province you want to work) . You will be able to do this from your NNAS online account. The Board of Nursing in that province will evaluate the report from nnas and decide if you meet the requirements set by the Board. You are also required to take an english Proficiency Test. You also have to pay the application fee. The Board may decide that your education is ok. If that is the case then you are allowed to register for the CRNE exam. If your education does not meet the requirements you will be asked to take a bridging course after that you can now register for the CRNE exam. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Just a friendly piece of advice, nurses and midwives abroad care about the patients are passionate about their work and their patients and are friendly and courteous. I've heard that nurses and midwives in Nigeria (not all) tend to be quite rude and harsh to patients. Hopefully must of you here are not like that. 7 Likes |

Update on my case: Spoke to CGFNS. The Nigerian midwifery certification has no value to the American Health system The only thing that has value is the license to practice as a registered nurse in Nigeria. In their words, that is all that they need. Thank God. Am now trying to process the money order for the credentials evaluation because all attempts to pay CGFNS with my Zenith Bank card failed. So my worries were not worth the trouble in the end. Thanks dear friends! 3 Likes |

Miami11:you forgot " kill" ,. Heap it on us but it won't deter those of us who want to practice in saner climes to do so. I bet that's what the thread is all about. Nurses and other medical personnel practicing in Nigeria are products of Nigerians crude and primitive environment. The " slap, curse and yell stance" is seen in all facets of the Nigerian society be it in traders, civil servants, politicians, students, artisans, security operatives etc. So, we are just what we are and still striving to be better especially in societies where being BETTER or even best is appreciated. 13 Likes |

I agree that some nurses are not nice to patients especially those in government sector. There is no profession that doesnt have some bad eggs, but what do you expect? It takes great patience and the grace of God to care for a sick person who doesnt even appreciate what you are doing. Nurses go through emotional trauma and physical abuse every single day starting from the doctor who wants to blame you for every mistake, the patient and their relatives and even your own matron.. Only the brave can nurse. We take care of the sick even when we are sick, im not trying to say all nurses are saints.. No we are not, we are humans too and i am looking forward to the day when Nigerian nurses in particular will get the respect they deserve. 9 Likes |

Egbokom:you should consider uk or australia. Their bsc degree is 1 year long and you are entitled to work for 20 hours per week during school session and 40 hrs when you are on hols. Its also easier to get into their University when compared to usa or canada. |
