My point. You guys should closely monitor all those Ab.oki doing menial jobs around your homes, the Mai Guards and all those Nigeriens. By all means, keep these people far from you. Do not give them a breathing space. Do not chill with them because what is in their heart never shows on their face. I don't know our sins that Lord Luggard decided to punish us this way. Pitting us together with people whose only joy is to destroy harmony, peace and progress. People who are indoctrinated from childhood to be hateful, vengeful, heartless, and diabolic. |

The coming in Buhari as d president of ds Nation is characterized by all sorts of evil Islamic agenda. Fulani herdsmen carryout their havoc unchecked, abduction of little girls even by d shameless elites of d Islamic north has become a norm. may God bring all his dirty agendas to broad day shame, may d same weapons he fashioned against d destiny of ds peaceful Nation land on him & his cohorts. May d unity of ds Nation outlive & bury him shamefully & may his generation be ashamed of associating with him. may his name be a plague to any that answers it & if he doesn't stop & make a u-turn, may God strip him shamefully of that throne. he is a small boy to dare our God. |

dustydee: Bros, 1. First off, I am equivocally in agreement with you. If you look up my post, I had laid a premise that Yinusa is culpable 2. I am fully aware of the laws with respect to minors and I know Yinusa will probably be jailed for a minimum of about 6months 3. My focus in point number 4 is to raise the issue of Ese's part and the need to look at how Ese needs to be helped. Ese may have double identity. She might have been sexually active years before this case...... |

samola98: This is from Jaafar Jaafar's timeline on Facebook: #EseMustLeaveKano Human rights lawyer, Barrister Huwaila Muhammad, spent the whole day at the Zone 1 Police Headquarters in Kano yesterday, investigating Ese Oruru's case. She was there to seek justice for her and help reunite with her distraught family. Huwaila, who had rare access to Ese and interacted with her for several hours, said the teenager spoke Hausa fluently. When I expressed doubt over the authenticity of the audio clip PREMIUM TIMES obtained, Huwaila confirmed to me that it was actually Ese's voice, and was recorded in her presence. I had been on phone with this compassionate lawyer throughout the day, trying to come up with the true story, while at the same time our reporter in Kano was digging the case from another angle. I called a friend at the Criminal Investigation Department, the police spokespersons of Kano Police Command, the zonal headquarters and the Force Headquarters – all in the name of getting true picture of the saga. That aside, as a matter of fact, I would have been more enraged than Ese's parents if my daughter eloped or abducted and taken to Bayelsa. No right-thinking Muslim would support forceful conversion to Islam. I will not even be happy if my matured daughter says she will remain a Muslim and relocate to Bayelsa. What Ese's lover, Yunusa, did should not just stop at condemnation but prosecution. He should be charged to court forthwith for eloping with this teenager. He also deserves a jail term with hard labor for bringing Islam and Muslims under this severe attack. He should be slammed another jail term for making me restless, spending a whole day on a single story. But it appears, for obvious bigotry, some people took the PUNCH story hook, line and sinker. For years, I know PUNCH does not have a reporter in Kano. The paper editorialized and noosed a warped opinion as NEWS! The emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, was unfairly defamed. The paper used the remaining muck it often use as ink to tarnish the image of the emir. Kano Emirate Council should sue PUNCH and other papers that brought the image of the emirate to disrepute. Leaving this grave allegation unchallenged will lead to more grievous allegations in future. If PUNCH is serious, a reporter would have been despatched to Kano for proper investigation at the zonal police headquarters and the emir's palace. But in spite Ese's insistence that she is not returning to Bayelsa, I hereby launch a campaign for her to be FORCEFULLY taken back to Bayelsa – and remain there FOREVER. #EseMustLeaveKano |

I know Falana will definitely put a deft ear on things like this since it's affect his superiors... the major problem of this Country is the western Elites who claims they love country but all to their selfish interest.. someone should help ask Falana if he truly know what A Human Right Activist is all about. Fake ppl everywhere!! Kudos to FFK.. 1 Like 1 Share |

mapet: The first line of point number 4 “Truth is there is no evidence yet, that Ese was abducted” is wrong. The fact that an Adult (18 year old man) eloped or went away with a 14 year old girl without her parents’ consent is tantamount to abduction. I do not know any other name that can be given to that crime. It would have been different if he was 17. |

"The same thing happened to a 13 year old christian igbo girl by the name of Miss Charity Uzoechina two years ago when she was abducted, islamised, raped, married off and forced to remain in the Etsu Nupe’s palace in Minna, Niger state. This was despite the fact that her parents went to the police and authorities and made every effort to get her back. Sadly up till today they have never seen her again." According to this article, this abductions has been happening for years yet nothing was done by previous Govts or police authorities secure the release of this girls. I guess the era of impunity may truly be over in Naija.. 1 Like |

francizy: I shouldn't reply you but I need to let you know you are extremely rude. Why can't you make your point without insulting. And isn't that the reason the girl fled bayelsa? I am not in anyway supporting what they did but you don't have to turn this into a tribal bashing session, in any case, the igbos hate hausas just as much and I know what I am saying. |

CCsurplus007: I am with u on this. The Emir is very culpable in this case. How can SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI, with the status of an EMIR claim he released Ese to the Nigerian Police and they refused/ delayed the release of the girl to her parents? If the Emir's instructions can be disobeyed then he is not capable and worthy to be a leader. The truth is this, he was happy, albeit covertly, that the girl had been converted to islam. He tried to delay releasing the girl for as long as possible probably until she clocks 18yrs when nothing can be done. He had forgotten that it takes just a snap of the finger for information to circulate these days. Sanusi is a die-hard religious bigot who, even though exposed, is uncivilised. I tell people that northerners, even if educated and exposed still behave uncivilised. Its not difficult to see a professor, muslim and a northerner behave in the most uncivilised way. Their utterances give them away. I know them very well because i schooled in the north. The religion plays a major role in their behaviour and civility. This is not the same with their counterpart in the south. FEAR NORTH! 3 Likes |

Re: ESe Oruru: Emir Of Kano And Those Distorting The Narrative, By Femi Fani-kayode by omostar: 10:28am On Mar 02, 2016 |
francizy: I know the northern precedence(usually caused by a small minority) is a major factor in the way people perceive them but still each case should be treated individually. Every region has it's ugly side. We should be promoting peace, not things that will make us further hate each other. The north seems to be primitive no doubt, but the way some of us take issue s shows we may not be any better than them. On this issue, let us say what Yunusa did was bad(not hausas). That is an unfortunate generalization. I am sure if you had ever left your area, you would have come across excellent and intelligent hausas. So to now generalise to include all those wonderful ones is unfair and unfortunate. |

4reala: When elders refuse to respect themselves, a disorganized and unproductive society is what you get. Nigeria, which way? Regarding the bolded, above: 1. Mr Kayode begins with an explosive revelation, asserting that a little girl was forcibly extracted from her home contrary to the narrative of an eloped lover. Reading on with interest, and expecting to see some hitherto hidden details uncovered, i was surprised and disappointed to discover that Mr Kayode actually has no basis for this assertion. He basically woke up one morning and decided to invent this part of the story in order to insert a criminal element into the actions of the boy from Kano. But what purpose would this actually serve? does Mr Kayode have a vested interest in fostering disunity? 2. This statement emanated from the mouth of one who is meant to be an elder. This man has wished such foul ill upon innocent children, all in a bid to prove a point. Granted, his wishes may never come true (May God not allow it), but seeing the depth of unreasonableness and frankly, the sheer immaturity, that the elders of our nation so readily sink to, is quite alarming and disappointing. 3. The allegation against the distinguished person of the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, is ridiculous, and a calculated smear, craftily designed to provide ammo in this xenophobia sponsored conflagration. If i were Mr Sanusi, Mr. kayode would find himself hauled before the courts of law to provide satisfactory explanations for this filthy allegation. |

tsephanyah: The long and short of it is that she was abducted. She is underaged. The Emir knew something about it. Her parents never permitted this. And how do you know that most SS/SW/SE girls in their early teens are disvirgined ? Did u check their vaaagiina ? It is the norm for people in the North to marry underaged girls. It is their custom. But they should not abduct othet peoples children. 1 Like |

How can a human right activist say something like this ? I wish the people of Bayelsa should rally and call for the head of Sanusi. Let them invite Malala to speak against this. The conspiracy of silence is too loud. 1 Like |
