I repeat those that bought FCMB today are only smart if a fool comes along to buy from them at a higher price.

But please ask your self - what am i looking for with FCMB that i will not find bountifully in other profitable stocks?

This is an interesting debate about FCMB.. Truly enjoying it..but let me quickly ask, Is there any possibility the company may go 'under'?? just like BankPhb, Oceanic, Intercontinental etc I am for long term and might have not much time monitoring(JIJO) with any stock.. considering going long on the stock but can't find enough info online...

Godisfaithful,stockbull,manie,mega,Born2be,angelo etc... your take.

Dont forget that the people you are accusing of trying to dump at 0.88 defended this stock at N4. They have also lost big. If you see FCMB to buy now or lower you are not losing anything

If they have also lost big so they now look forward to other investors losing their hard earned income? If the stock price falls lower to say 55kobo after i have bought from you at 88 kobo meaning i have had 37% of my investment wiped out in 10 days or less. ie 1million naira turns to 600 thousand naira in the short term. Do you consider this a wise investment?

Please let the stock bottom out so that that rich cowboy hiding somewhere manipulating the stock does not make us into fools while making himself richer

In every market SOME MUST LOOSE MONEY FOR OTHERS TO MAKE MONEY. that's the way it works and pray and hope you are part of the latter

Sir, I wouldn't touch FCMB for now taken into consideration other emergence factors. I will rather buy more of Zenith, Access, UBA, and consider Fidelity (within banking sector) instead of living in hopeville. Hope is not an investment strategy. I want returns on my Investment NOW grin

If you have idle money, purchase more than 1M units of fcmb and leave it for your grandchildren.

cool
You won't have to leave it for your grandchildren, unless they are mature enough to take it over in a few weeks time.
The problem of this stock as far as I know is the profit warning which is hanging over it like a dark cloud.
When the expected bad full year result is released, and the market is done spanking it for one or two more days, it will commence a fast recovery back to N1 or above, unless the general market condition has by then so deteriorated that its peers like fidelity and diamond have themselves descended below N1.
Before release of full year result there is no sustainable rebound.
It may even touch the car park if the result tarries, but will never stay there as long as fcmb remains a going concern.

Okay, trying to get your point. Your point is that we should wait for FCMB to fall to 50k before buying right? Or is it that you feel FCMB is a company going under because of the expected loss in the 2015 financial year?

Most of the banks have disposed their stockbroking and other non-banking subsidiary to focus on their business object whilst only a few still retain them as part of the group e.g first bank, stanbic etc...

You can go to NSE website for the list of accredited brokers that you can select from to assist with your request.
Thanks alot man! It was really helpful

FCMB, Fidelity, Skye, Diamond are all in the same category. FCMB is being battered because it only came out with profit warning. Others are sitting on a pile of gunpowder too.

As you can see she intends to sell when the price appreciates and to sell as soon as possible too.
she has no intention of long term investment with this FCMB
She waits for no dividend what so ever. All she cares about is taking advantage of the dreamer who;

1) contemplates the price will still keep going up
2) gullibly thinks the price is at the very bottom and will fall no further
3) listens to tricksters advising him on some long term adventure with a non profitable stock in the midst of plenty

Until I see their year end numbers... to ensure they have not breached CAR requirements... I will not touch FCMB with a long pole...

I always ask myself what if I'm stuck and JIJO did not work? will I regret my decision badly?

My thoughts on FCMB:

1. By end of this month, FCMB will release their 1st Quarter result which most likely wont be a bad one (remember that the anticipated bad result is for 2015 year end).

2. What some investors are doing is called Positioning. That is, buying now at N0.68k (and some are praying it will crash further to sub N0.60k) not because they are buying to get dividend but only buying against the future -half year (which is in 4 months time)

3. By half year, EPS (earning per share) would be in the range of 50k and the price would move to about N1.30k which is almost 100% return for the investors that would enter after now.

Note, the Bank will not die, its a going concern. They have a challenge with bad loans and they'll take the provision and move on.

Ask yourself, those that would wait for 6 months and make 100% or more, are they really 'stupid'?

This is not a 'buy' recommendation in any way. I just wanted to add my voice to the on-going discourse.

Thank you

Exactly what you whispered to yourself, no doubt, when you saw people buying tigerbrands at 0.98.
Don't be too irate over the fcmb matter. Everybody here is not into orthodox, conservative investing.
Some of us here, playing with our own money, are hard-nosed speculators, willing to take calculated risks for the chance of higher returns.
Speculators have their place in the stock market .
So since the profit warning, I entered fcmb for the first time today at 0.68, willing to escort it down to the the car park if that be its destination.
May not make sense to you because of your own orientation, but may make sense to another.
Everybody does not need to operate by the same investment strategies and objective.
That kola nut is bitter in your mouth does not mean there are not people who value it.

Oga elai, welcome back oooo...Oya let's discuss...What do you think is causing the delay in GTB and zenith result? Also, do you think banking stocks like fcmb and fbhn are going to get out of this bad debt mess? I don't think I have seen your post on this issue hence my questions
