Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 6:57pm On Feb 21, 2016 |
Braaad: Going by last auction, if you invested in Treasury bills for one year, you get not more than N8,980. It could be less depending on the bid. |

My question. I want to invest 500k in bonds as soon as possible, how do I go about it? Thanks. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by moshino(m): 8:20pm On Feb 22, 2016 |
exclusiveoloori: First, you said you have 100k to invest, now you're saying you have 500k to invest. Serious people with the info and knowledge you seek may not see you as serious and sincere. And before you invest your money, usually you'll need time, efforts and patience to study various investment vehicles and determine which one is best suited for your situation and goals. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by IHelp: 11:03pm On Feb 22, 2016 |
moshino: I think two people asked almost the same question. Exclusiveoloori (500k) and Braaad (100k). Going through the previous comments will help newbies cos it contain answers to most of the questions. |

Bookiemart01:What tenor(period) are you looking at?. We have 91 days, 182 days and 364 days. The rates quoted by Sir Feelamong at 9:34 am are per annum I.e per year. As an example, 200k for 182 days at 7.57% is calculated as 0.0757*200000*182/365. Banks have a charge and there is custody fee and transaction fee. Over to you Sir Feelamong. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by feelamong(m): 8:41am On Mar 04, 2016 |
jeebz: You have said it all! I also suggest that he approaches his bankers to try his hand on the next auction.....that way he he become more farmiliar with the workings of Treasury Bills |

feelamong: I go with the bank rate. FBN does not allow u to determine ur own stop rate. Their worker I spoke with says I not the only one it happens to but all the people that bidded for 6 months tenure. So I want to know if it's a prob with the bank or with FG... Before I carry my money go another bank for TB as I actually enjoy using FBN |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by exclusiveoloori: 10:26am On Mar 04, 2016 |
I had a similar issue with firstbank sometimes last year. 6months failed the first time so I tried again the next auction and it went through. I tried one year last month but it failed so i decided to try again this last auction but am yet to confirm if it went through or failed again |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Desanta(m): 10:28am On Mar 04, 2016 |
clino:Same here. I had to convert mine with FBN to 3 months. |
