Menh.. you are so lucky.. after snow the previous day it's so cold now. Luckily I keep inside very heated.. I am never a late sleeper.. always thinking the day will be shorter if I wake up late. Summer is coming soon and we can't wait.

Hajji M.

But we pay premium for everything though. It was sickening to see $1.70 gas prices in Atlanta while it's $3.50 in Los Angeles, as an example.

But then I'm heading out to cruise on my bike in a few minutes grin

Here is a picture of precut risers for stairs. I don't think that I've stepped on stairs in Nigeria that the threads are uniform, maybe except for old buildings and major hotels. There's a specific calculation that goes into this as a woodworker.

It comes in different lengths and can be tailored for different landing heights.

Maybe an enterprising person can figure out a way to adapt this to making concrete steps.

Its the same process, even for Concrete Stairs.

-get vertical height from Floor to Top level/landing (measure) also called "total Rise"
-get horizontal length that stairs will span (measure) also called "total Runs"
-use both above to get length of stairs (using Pythagoras: Length = root (horizontal length (Total Runs) squared + vertical height (Total Rise) squared)
-Rise (how high you raise your leg) is usually set at 7" but some use 6" or 8". you chose.
-Divide vertical height by Rise = Number of Risers
-Chose your Thread (flat foot placement or floor) Depth. Standard is 10".
-Number of Threads is (#Risers - 1)

Note: Number of Threads x Thread Depth = Length of Stairs.
Note: Thread must be at Right Angle to the Vertical, else you will either fell being "pulled back" when climbing stairs or being "rushed forward", if it is not at the right angle.

use the above figures to cut our your Wood Casing to form the stairs.
You cant go wrong if you follow the calculation.

I have done it over and over.

Good for you.

But for others that wing it and come up with this halfass stairs maybe this can help them out.

I bumped into a block named 'alistdevelopers. . Com. The blogger is a registered architect (according to him). 100% of his write up are my write up here on nairaland property section ( proper analysis of design and cost of a foundation for bungalows). He copied all my work world by world without referencing me.

I tell you brother, Nairaland and property section has quite a bit of nefarious characters on it.

I'm not busy this week so let me see what trouble I can cause for the character grin

Interesting! You're lucky you found that out. One of the leading real estate firm in Nigeria (with over 20,000 units of residential apartment built in Lagos) organized a training for all their registered contractors and they used one of my works on Nairaland (2012 Detached Duplexes) for the training even to the extent of showing my car in their presentation.

One of the attendees informed 2 months after me but it was too late.

As one of the early author on Nigeria Property Centre, I cannot count the number of my works that has been reproduced without written permission by all this funny bloggers.

So so true....

Of course I'm talking about Ogun too. My project is there so I know what I'm talking about. I was told nine months ago that my house should be completed with 7.5M after we did the roofing last year but guess what, we have spent in the region of 9M in the last eight weeks and we are no where near completing the house. My house in not a duplex. I have to admit it is a big house but I never expected to spend this much on it. A situation where you spend 400k on 1 by 12 planks, over 1m on iron rods, over 600 bags of cement tons of granite, stone dust, sharp sand and many more you never expected.

It is always easy throwing numbers around but by the time you get into it is when the reality hits you in the face.

Suleja is a better place for low income investment, land cost is relatively low and no problem of future demolishion because of Master plan.

Tafa local government along kaduna Abuja road is also a very good place to invest considering the new railway and the express way.

In suleja
Back of sarafina along Sulaiman barrau way
One bedroom goes for N150,000

Two bedroom for around N250,000

With 24 hours water supply and considerably stable electricity.
The area is 45 minutes drive from Abuja city center of Abuja kaduna road
A 50ft x 100ft land goes for around 1. 5million in this area

Welcome to Nigeria! Wow. That's Noah's Ark grin I'm sure the owner is one of ya paddyman living abroad. Unfortunately, there's nothing to do about it.

Shockingly to the uttermost dismay of everyone, I don't ever want to be a landlord. House flipping is it for me. Anything else, I'll take a pass. I'm too young to die worrying over unrealistic figures or doing Baba Ijebu permutations. At least not in Nigeria. My humble opinion though.
