Yes! The domain is pretty good in deed, it seems there many end users for it. If you can have an email from this particular domain, it could make you fortune. However, buyer are like spirit, if you have what they need, nothing can stop them from buying it. Your name may not stop them, just let them know that you are accepting transaction via escrow service at worst they would demand for escrow transaction.

My only fear is the registrar 1and 1 that scares people.

This is why research is very important. You are dealing with a city with less than 70,000 population and also it's not a popular city and neither is it the capital.

It could also be that your emails are entering spam. Is it taken in other extensions? if yes, try to pitch to those.

I sold Calfornia+Keyword some time ago for $999 and looking at the population, it is marked at 38.8Million as at 2014

That says it all. Geo domains does well with HIGH populations.

In internet marketing and sales letter writing, there is what we call AIDA. The A at the beginning stands for ATTENTION. Let's forget about other letters in the acronym

As seller of any goods, your first major goal isn't to sell BUT to pull ATTENTION. That is essence of my method for using the name of the enduser as subject. I didn't start but it has been proven over and over again that personalized email delivers far better results, hence the name in the email is aligned along that logic.
