I believe this thread was created for people to share personal experience, help intending mothers going for different procedures prepare and make informed decisions. Personal experience, when looking for a place to do an IUI, regenesis got the most success review and I went with them. Nobody mentioned how grossly unprofessional they were. Although id admit God is the giver of children and it doesn't matter how unprofessional or professional the doctors are.....but at a point I had to remind the doctor what I was there for cos he forgot I was doing an IUI not IVF. Maybe if I had achieved pregnancy I would have overlooked how loud and uncout his 2 ground staff were... Always talking loudly on the phone in igbo on calls, or how they never had a hand wash soap in their restroom (had to tell them several times but nothing was done). Maybe If he did not tell me I had miscarried when I called to complain of thick blood clots following the failed cycle, I would have overlooked his incompetence...it was mamas here that explained the clot was as a result of the injectables I had taken Only for me to come here some days later to read the guy was even banned from practicing in canada . May God help us. 6 Likes |

I was actually enjoying the tirade on Dr Emeka's review. Not to make fun of your personal reservations but really was excited that this thread could be active like it used to be. Please we need people to come share their experiences so that we can help each other. So on this matter, everybody should not vex abeg. We all have our individual opinions which should be respected. The experience I have in one hospital might be different from the experience of another person. Lets just read, learn, explore our options, agree on what is best for us and pray for direction. TCCing is emotionally draining on its own, entering into arguments with our fellow mums isn't the best. Lets comment with love and mutual respect. Oya, everybody, drink cold water o 3 Likes |

@Icenow, congrats, but pls chill. They all want to hear your experience with the so much acclaimed dr and that's why Donatee wrote what she wrote, she doesn't mean any harm. I really don't appreciate where you said you are pregnant now and so she should find her fellow 'e sisters', Haba, that isn't nice to say . Some of us already have kids but still come around to help others, I know myself, I know one or two people too who already have two kids, some don't even mention it cos they want to stay relevant helping others. That we are pregnant or already have our kids should not make us speak down on others. I do also have a friend who had an ugly experience with the said dr but cos I never had a personal experience with him, I can't really say anything online. However, if I had had an ugly experience with him, no Jupiter will stop me from sharing it. I can't share my friends experience cos I wasn't there and don't know where she added 'jara' to the story. Some people am sure don't have all the rosy experience but are afraid to share cos of what 'supporters club' will say, that was what my friend told me, that she doesn't want anyone to attack her, but that doesn't help at all. Let's help ourselves and be plain. As far as you pay your own bills, don't be afraid of anyone, share your views. Most importantly, personal views on situations are different. To someone else, their experience is superb and to another, mba, they are not convinced and good with the dr's opinion. Above all, prayer is the key factor to choosing the best treatment place. 17 Likes 1 Share |

Godmerciesss:I never condemned or questioned his and his staff professionalism. Don't get me wrong they were very nice and all and appeared very knowledgeable and seem to know what they were doing. That's part of why what he did was a shocker to me. What baffles me is why he kept on trying to convince me to do ivf knowing fully well that the Fibroids even will go further to decrease my chances? All I can say is that I feel that his need for money at that time over clouded his judgement. Perhaps his plan was to try luck with the 1st IVF and collect the money, if it works fine, if it doesn't work well I'll get sweet talked into removing the Fibroids ( he can actually say that the ivf drugs made them grow bigger or some other story that will sell) and pocketing the money and then convince me to do another ivf. All I know is that he put money first before the patient and the diagnosis probably because he was just moving into his new site away from George's and needed money. That's my thought. In fact he didn't even discuss our results or even showed them to us but kept on hammering on IVF. when we later asked to see all the tests that was done, he tried to convince us that there was no need but we insisted that we needed copies and he reluctantly gave us. It turned out that the N188k we paid for testing was just for him to do HIV, Hepatitis B, Pelvic Scan and SFA test. I for no mind because fertility things can be costly and he's in a highbrow area and his hospital is posh except for the Mis-yarn on my Fibroids. I do believe they know what they are doing but all am trying to say is that women should do their own research even on Drs diagnosis and get 2nd opinions. I even sought 2nd and 3rd opinion outside the country and was told it was near impossible to be able to carry a successful pregnancy with the submucous Fibroids except it's a miracle from God. I have no reason to want to tarnish his reputation or anything. I have nothing to gain. All am doing is trying to help myself and other people on this journey of ttc by sharing what I know, have learned and/or have experienced. On the agreement, yes of course it could be quite normal But it was the contents that helped opened my husband's eye and I was able to convince him with the other reports I got abroad that it wasn't going to work. Anyways it's God that gives children and it's only him that can make any treatment work but do know that he uses physicians and therefore these physicians will only be doing well by using the knowledge God has given them properly. If you say my opinion on my experience is an individual sentiment, then your opinion too is don't you think. For instance I have a new Dr that I feel is awesome but even when I mention him to people, I tell them that they shouldn't take my word and experience, I encourage them to follow their minds and spirit on either to go with him or not. I have nothing to gain or lose whichever Hospital or Dr someone here uses or doesn't use either way. We're all entitled to our opinion, am only sharing my experience. I enjoin everyone to share their experiences and true feelings without malice irrespective of whether it goes against the popular opinion of the Dr or hospital on the thread. 16 Likes |

Godmerciesss:Yes that's a possibility and also there's the possibility of him campaigning here too. But let me expressly state that I am not campaigning for anyone as I have nothing to gain. Read my signature, that sums me up on this ttc threads. The current Dr am using is even in the Eastern part of the country and does not do IVF therefore I can now way be campaigning for him here where majority of the people reside in Lagos, PH and Abj. I have to also let you know that in my opinion Dr Emeka of Olive Branch had everything to gain in how he treated my case. It's possible he wanted to do the 1st IVF, collect the money, then do the Myomectomy or another Fibroid removal procedure, pocket the money and then convince me again to go for a 2nd IVF. I know you might be saying that's me thinking extreme but believe me the human mind is deceptive and capable of stuff especially where money is involved. N1m + on IVF no be here my sister. I had to think right, left, front and centre and above all prayed and God led me. @ icesnow please share your experience at Olive Branch and also your conception experience on how you finally conceived. You could be empowering someone. Congrats and this is praying that you have a healthy and happy Pregnancy and childbirth, Amen. Take good care of yourself. 4 Likes |

It shall all end in praise mamas and papas. Welcome criticism, argue peacefully and above all learn positively. To be sincere I learnt a lot from this little argument which added to my knowledge on ivf. May Jehovah God answer us speedily. Congratulations @Icesnow. I wish you smooth and happy bumping. Abeg come tell us what you did differently this cycle cos me I wan carry my big bumping this year or born my twins/triplet this year. |

My 'almost' experience with The Bridge. Sent an email to enquires @bridge to ask for the price of their IUI in December 2015. I got a reply saying IVF would be best for me . I tried explaining to them that I hadn't gotten to the stage of IVF as all my tests came back fine but for anovulatory cycles. And reiterated that I only needed to know the cost of the procedure as I was planning to use them in January and I was out of state so cannot come to the office. Guess what? I got same IVF bladderash. Less than a week later I found out I was pregnant! Thanks DonaTee, God has already compensated me. 14 Likes |

Fvine: Really surprised at your experience with Doctor Emeka but I guess everyone's experience and perspective will always be different and affect our perception of things. Not to take away from your post but two things seriously surprised me in your post. First is the point about him being money focused and second is him convincing you of IVF. Really sad if true and very hard to believe for me especially because my friend and I had a very different experience. I used doctor Emeka August last year and honestly he never bothered me about payments which I made at my convenience. In fact, 12weeks into my friends pregnancy she still had an outstanding balance of almost 500k to pay and got no disturbance from him. I completely understand your point too as I have fibroid as well but I do not talk about it or see it as an issue simply because Doctor Emeka told me it wasn't an issue and I believed him. My fibroid is in addition to PCOS sef. Today, I'm more than 30weeks gone after my first IVF attempt with him. My friend also got her BFP on her first attempt after me at Olive Branch. Again, individual experiences which shape our perspectives differs. I'm happy to read your post which states the occurrence happened early 2015. If true, he's obviously a better person now as my experience was a great one. Can I also say thank you for waiting till now to share your experience? I'm saying thank you because I would probably not used him if you had come out to share your experience on time and that effectively means I would I've passed on the opportunity to get his excellent service and my baby at olive Branch. As someone here has mentioned, beyond reading experiences, do your own research. May God pick up the calls of all those about to conceive. Amen. 11 Likes 1 Share |

HD16:Thanks for responding maturely and congratulations on your Pregnancy. Wishing you continued blessings and happiness. I don't doubt his knowledge or professionalism, I believe that he knows the job very well. I am not even condemning him to be money minded but even if he is it wouldn't take away from him knowing the job. I only think his judgement was clouded because at that time he was just moving into his own site out of George's, the place was still under renovation and he probably needed money. Just my perception and experience. Please where is your Fibroid located and what's the size and number? These really matter in fertility and conception. |

HD16:Thank you HD16,Me I dont believe at all that the Dr Emeka we met would ever allow his judgement be clouded because of money o, especially over his patients treatment,I sincerely doubt. It just sounds so out of character(in fact unbelievable)this man never once mentioned money or pressured us when we came and the new place was just starting then I remember (my husband was so so suprised about this Ibo man).... haba!. I dont believe. Me, I encourage any one to go there and make your opinion yourself.....i am telling you. then come back and comment. I am too sure it will be positive. my own experience was real. Not to be a voltron, but coincidentally I met fvine in person sometime last year...after her consultation with the said doctor and I heard this same thing from her. HD16 I hope you know there are different types of fibroids based on their location? Im sure you know that. The doctor may not have meant any harm or was just concerned about carrying out the IVF procedure without really caring about the consequences of the fibroid. I went to see my doc tday and complained my bump was too big and after a physical exam he says my bump is ok for about 16weeks....and I remembered how I was told on that same bed 3years ago that the fibroids I had measured about 16weeks. Mostly submucosal, so much so that they completely blocked both of my fallopian tubes as revealed by a pre-surgery HSG. That doesn't mean that I haven't heard about women who are pregnant and have fibroids. You should all remember that this is someone's personal experience and the fact that you had a different experience doesn't mean she's lying or just trying to pull him down. haddyza: Hopefully I won't get attacked on my review of regenesis. Unfortunately our fertility clinics in Nigeria are not interested in helping couples try naturally for pregnancy. The clinic I was working with and was planning to use for IVF this April tells you they are more interested in making you pregnant naturally and without consultation fees, you get email correspondence with them and they explore all options before going IVF route. I thank God I got in touch with them and after a simple infection test and antibiotics treatment, I did achieve a natural pregnancy. 8 Likes |

Hi all. I have been a silent reader of this thread for a long time. I am upset at what this is becoming. First of all, the reason for this thread is to exchange ideas, compare notes, share experiences, learn and discuss. This is in pursuit of the common goal which is to become mothers or have more children. By the grace of God, this will happen for each and everyone. However, it is important for us to be good examples to our children. What type of example will be to our children when we say horrible things at the drop of a hat. For instance, someone here announcing that she is pregnant the way she did (in response to what she did not like). Another responding by saying that that she needs to find her e-sisters whose first child is 7 and looking for another......"not someone who is 2 weeks preggy probably for the first time". Another saying that " lemme know when u can create a second/ minute pregnancy then I would take u serious". Gosh!! We really need to watch our words carefully. I understand that some people are sensitive ...especially now......but please, we have to be careful. When we get upset, lets take a minute to calm down.....think about it.....before responding. This we should do in our daily lives as well. Not preaching. Just saying. Have a wonderful day everyone !! 8 Likes |

Icesnow:Thanks for taking your time to share this. Am glad you did. Praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy and childbirth for you, Amen. Just calm down and stop responding. Me I've decided not to drag issues with anyone. I have shared my experience and that's it, exactly what the thread is for. He's good no doubt but he's interested in money as well not considering what people are going through and prefers couples going for IVF than helping them get results with minimal spending and pains. How can a Fertility Specialist say that there's no cure for mild Oligospermia except ivf? He also said that to us. I thank God that it turned out that am not the only one and @ Sugah confirmed that it was still the same story I told her in person when the incident was still fresh. Anyone is free to believe it or not. We are all entitled to our own opinion and views. 3 Likes |
