Hi If you are in Lagos go to Union Bank Head Office in Marina,is so simple tell them you want form A to transfer money to Germany,in the form A where they asked what is the money for,i wrote School fees and living expenses. Forex may be scarce now but you can still carry out this transaction. i learnt lately that Eco Bank is also doing this at the moment. with heart filled with joy and laughter, I wish to announce to my fellow nairaland family, that my visa has been granted.
this journey started since 2013, I tried Canada but was denied. my brother convinced me to try Germany, I tried Germany last year winter 2015, was also denied, people like Nellyb and williamso, know my story. but hear I am today. I gave it another try and believed there's nothing God can not do, he proved his an unfailing God. even on the day of my interview Satan raised his head again, Babanila is a witness, but God won the battle at last. I left my money in deusch account since last August having hope it will end in praise and it ended in praise.

thanks to everyone for Ur help and assist people like Eke40seven,Williamso, Nellyb, and I will not forget Babanila who was with me during my times of trials on the interview day. May God bless U all for me. Those I didn't mention I appreciate U all. am so grateful. thank you all. I will always give back to this house positively.

Hello everyone, particularly the new folks. Well many people here may not know me again, though is not so important but I feel I should send this advise at this crucial point in time. PLEASE CONSIDER THE ECONOMIC STAND OF THE CITY YOU R GOING BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR SCHOOL O.
First I'll start with my story. I got two admissions more than a year ago one in Göttingen and the other in Hohenheim Stuttgart. Considering the status of both schools Göttingen by far is higher in terms of recognition (though my course is best studied Hohenheim in Germany and the 3rd in the whole of Europe I think). That aside, 7 months fast forward, I can say I really thank God for choosing this very place (Hohenheim)
Stuttgart is like the home of real hustle in the whole of Germany and students here don't have problems with jobs. Currently I harbour two students one from somewhere in Kanstar (pardon me cos I don't know if that's the correct spelling) the other from same Göttingen.
They came to work for the holidays. The real story here is that. Their stories really touched me, one said he has like 2k left, the other said like 3k. The 8k we hustle to get in Nigeria believe me, it's a small money here in Deutschland. I spend so much, yet if I tell you how much I've got left, you'll be surprise. I'm not saying this to brag cos it doesn't even add anything to me. But I'm saying it as an advise to you guys coming here. Find out very well about your destination and the rest will be history. I wish everyone the very best.

good evening house. Please I have the plan to go to siegen or Dortmund. But the tin is I intend to borrow the money for the blocked account. What's the possibility of paying this back within reasonable time.

I think it won't be an easy task for u refund the money while in DE with the high cost of living and low student job wages as we have learn earlier here. If care is not taking, u may not be refund the money completely before u finish ur program. My advice is this, Borrow the money to get what ever u want and after getting thr, U can be withdrawing the stipulated #670 every months in order to keep refunding the money bck and I think that will last for almost 16month or so. But make sure u come along with at least 3 to 4k for u to sustain, settle down and so on. Others can contribute

My suggestion is this, For the fact that they acknowledged ur appeal and u also slated a genuine reason for your application to be reconsidered, then between scale of visa granting possibility of 1 to 10,I'll give u 6. Hv it in mind and support it with serious prayer, as in ADURA that can melt anything down. U still have hope bro.

There are many sides to your story. First, Dortmund could be cool, even though I've not really heard much from anyone there. In Germany you are allowed to extend your program till like 7 semesters if you so wish. First you should know you can't complete your studies at the normal time if you don't want a really poor grade.
I'll advise you to try spread your courses as much as you can so that you'll be able to have some time to spare. Also you can't repay the money in 3 months not even in 10 months as a student but if you are hard working and dedicated. Also studying where jobs are in abundant, I'm sure you'll do fine.

I said that because you want to refund about 2M back home. How will you cope with about 5 courses every semester. A single course is an bulky as anything you can think of. It's just a logical reasoning

Oye you are right with what you are saying but let me disagree a bit. Weekend and spare time jobs cannot give you a fat bank account balance. Especially not with the very high cost of things in this country and the pay from mini jobs.
I spread my courses too but there is a disadvantage to spreading it too wide though. IMHO seven extra semesters is long. My ISO told me that if you spend more than 3 extra semesters and you go for visa renewal the Auslander may ask questions. It may depend on your Auslander behorde's rules though.
Going to a good economic state is good but you have to balance it with a city that also offers cheaper living. I know cities like Munich offer more economic opportunities + I have seen Germans themselves relocating there to search for jobs but the problem is the cost of living in Munich is high. Rent alone will finish your 670 without anything to sustain on. A normal room with shared toilet and bathroom will go for 500,600 or even 700 per month. That city's rent is outrageous. With a student mini job it will be tough.
This country is so expensive. I bought 4 fingers of banana for 1.99€ The same banana wey no go pass 100naira for Naija. lipsrsealed
I would advice anyone coming to apply for accomodation with studentenwerk. Many of them are cheaper than paying normal rent in your cities. Trick is once your accommodation is cheap, everything falls into place.

My brother any how the inflation in Nigeria dey, 4 finger of banana no go cost 1.99 euro. lets say we use 300 per euro, omo na 600 naira for just 4 fingers of banana be that o. For goodness sake I bought 1 card of paracetamol for 4.35 euro meanwhile the same paracetamol, same no of tablets, same work; its not more than 50 naira. Just yesterday I went to a shop in my city to by an item. This very same item costs 26$ in US if I order it. Meanwhile standing here in this shop in Germany I was asked to pay 57 euros shocked I mean nothing is cheap in this country. Nothing. When I count the many things i can buy with 8000euros in Niaja, here in Germany 8000 euros cant get you so much as one would expect. It just cant! When I go shopping for clothes, i get ridiculous prices on items. With 8000 euros in Naija you would be balling cool but here in Germany its bills, bills ,bills! The money runs away with speed grin

Lol... As expected... The banana thing was a joke... Me I just said if u can use €300 (90k) for rent, that's 1m + a year which would fetch u a good 2bd in Lagos... Yet nA for one room for average cities. NA then I know say the country go cost.

Before you fault a story you need to be in the person's shoes to know. First I didn't tell you I'm spreading my program; I've hit not reasons for that. I only advised someone that wants to pay so much money back home.
Also my blood brother lives in Munich, I'm not a novice of the place. I've been there more than 7 times and I know what's obtainable there. I didn't tell you also that I've got 12k in my account; you don't have to assume. Anyway if you feel I'm wrong, who am I to argue. My Saturday jobs alone pays my rent. Now what point do you have to disagree with what I'm saying about my story and not your story

20hrs per week is scary o. That's exactly why I advised you to spread your course, though someone faulted it. As far as I know(maybe based on my location) you can spread and the Rathaus would extend your visa confirm.
I know of someone from Göttingen that's even on leave of absence and he's working in Stuttgart self. First you don't need to rush with the payment. When the time is right you'll pay. If you can get just something that'll pay for all your living expenses, then you're totally fine cos your money won't be far from 8k afterwards, then you can begin to send money back gradually. My advise.
Also don't be deceived people when you all get here, you'll know that the land of milk and honey we clamour about is an illusion. I'll stop there. So just going anywhere cos you want to leave Nigeria, is not wise

Before you fault a story you need to be in the person's shoes to know. First I didn't tell you I'm spreading my program. I only advise someone that wants to pay money back home.
Also my blood brother lives in Munich, I'm not a novice of the place. I've been there more than 7 times and I know what's obtainable there. I didn't tell you also that I've got 12k in my account. Anyway if you feel I'm wrong, who am I to argue. My Saturday jobs alone pays my rent. Now what point do you have to disagree with what I'm saying about my story and not your story
You claimed you worked to have big amount of savings in your account meanwhile you work weekends and spare time. How much do you earn from mini jobs and still have unbelievable huge amount of money in your account with the cost of living and bills to pay? How much have you saved for less than six months that you have been in Germany to be able to have huge savings? Or are you referring to the money in the blocked account which was already in your bank before you came? Quote me anywhere you cant work mini jobs and save to have huge amount of money.
I am not the kind of person to paint rosy pictures. I say things the way they really are. I don't come to German thread to deceive people about Germany. What pains me is; we in Germany that post this things don't realise that there are people back home in Nigeria who read this thread and make life changing decisions. I know people who resigned decent jobs back home because people paint this wonderful picture of Germany to them. They get here and its a totally different thing from what they read here. I see people bitting their fingers, regretting their decisions. I talk based on numerous people I have come across here in different cities and states in this country.
I will always say it without fear or favour nobody should resign their job to come to Germany thinking there is money to pick here. If you truly want to study fine.
