Not just one there are many verses stating that God convict Christians of their sins. cool

CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI

What kind of a God convicts His children of their sins? Why then did He send Jesus? Why then did the Bible say "and if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

Why did the Bible say

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation

Ola, get a bible. Try and study na...

Get this, Joseph Prince's point was that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sinners, and not Christians, this by no means mean the Holy Spirit doesn't counsel believers in right and wrong...i mean, that's one of His jobs...

But to come here and take it to another level by saying GOD (who gave His best for the world) is busy convicting Christians of their sin is 'spiritual felony'

From the article you quoted, it shows God ganging up with Jesus, convicting Christians, while the Holy Spirit is the witness.

Amazing!... And you call another a heretic. grin

Which one is 'cherry picking again'? Joseph Prince said and I quote:

"The bottom line is that the Holy Spirit never convicts you of your sins, He never comes to point out your faults".

Are you saying the Holy Spirit never convicts us of our sins? The quote above was taken from his book, 'Destined to Reign'. Are you saying he was only communicating to believers? Does His audience only include believers? undecided

Firstly the Bible verse he quoted was clear that Jesus was talking to the world for not believing on him ,, so the conviction is about salvation for the sinner. Secondly the sin is umbelieve in. Christ. That verse speaks for itself . And lastly it's talking about sin. Not sins. Which refers. To sin nature.

So the Christian. Don't have the sin. Nature . But he may fall into a sin or sins.

God has given us his word to. Correct us as we study it we grow out of errors.

1Pe 2:1 — 1Pe 2:3
2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Her also. Corrects us through words. Of. Exhortation
..
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

But I get your point . If God can't correct us. We are bastards . But Joseph prince is dealing with condemnation which comes from our conscience which we may attribute to God . He is not condemning us .and he has. Given. Us his word to guide out lives to live a pleasing life to him. Because we have a new nature sometimes when. We do wrong. We sense it.

The issue with our sin is not with God . He has dealt with. It. When s Christian sin he has issue with the devil who may afflict him and. He has issue with his conscience which may condemn him

Please, leave the pharisee-self-righteous-holier-than-thou christian!!!

I am just tired of the guy.

But his problem is that he is using his thoughts, imaginations and experiences to judge the bible, instead of judging his thoughts, experiences and imaginations with the scriptures.

All I know is that I will continue to labour till this gospel of grace circulates to people around me, no matter what it will cost me.

The veil on their eye is becoming too much.

See how simple that verse is but he is judging the verse with his thought and imagination, which can never unveil to him the mind of God pertaining to that verse.

Please we should learn to stop judge the bible with thoughts or "what you think" but, rather, judge what you think, your experiences, with the basis of the scripture.

Until we take the scriptures the way it was written, especially in the greek form, we will not discover the revelation being conveyed in that verse.

Please, help to continue in addressing this people's ignorance.

There is NO such things as blaspheming a man!
Besides, juxtapose this teaching to that of many parts of the Gospels and Epistles and see glaring differences. Unfortunately, most purveyors of eternal security NEVER consider these verses when you show them. One even went ahead to claim some NT books/parts is not for us all in a bid to embrace this man's teaching!!!
Wh n Jesus spoke of blasphemy of Holy Spirit, it was in context of ASCRIBING genuine work of the Spirit by Him to Satan. So if a Spirit led minister is dismissed as demon possessed, the Spirit is blasphemed

Hello bro!.. i see you never seem to stop calling preachers names... majorly because they don't subscribe to your kind of Christianity. In avoidance of doubts, let me put these two in context.

Jesus said
John 16:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

get other translations for simpler rendering.

Joseph Prince made a bold statement in his book:

“The bottom line is that the Holy Spirit never convicts you of your sins. He NEVER comes to point out your faults. I challenge you to find a scripture in the Bible that tells you that the Holy Spirit has come to convict you of your sins. You won’t find any.”
(Page 134-135, Destined to Reign)

Joseph and Jesus are saying the same thing, For the Holy Spirit DOES NOT convicts Christians of their sins, for that wasn't one of His job description as seen John 14:26 AMP

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Pastor Prince even made it better for you Ola, He challenged you to find a scripture that says otherwise... until then, I and the hosts of Heaven will just be watching you in utter dismay.

My broda,
If you are going to take a stance on masturbation on the basis of its mention you will be in trouble because we know there are countless things we consider sin not because they are mentioned but because they violate a scriptural principle or the will of God. Masturbation is not forbidden but we know it is attended by lustful thoughts, and we know fornication and adultery means more than the very act. It was amplified by Christ to cover thoughts. An activity that ministers lust remains a sin regardless of the frequency it is committed.

Talking of frequency, how often should your wife sleep with another man before you conclude she has committed adultery?

Back to whether something is backed by a verse, would you eat human flesh?

i didn't say masturbation is ok. its a bad habit and it can be demonic also. but not a sin against God. its your body. people maturbate for medical test. if its not a sin to do it for medical test then it shouldn't be a sin otherwise. secondly lustful thought is not the same as mastubation. its a different thing on its own

^^ not joining in the debate, but I,m not sure of this logic.
Its like saying that if executing a man or man slaughtervis not a sin, then murdering is no sin.
In all cases, one takes another's life.

Don't be quick to say that the bible refers to murder. Although translators try to distinguish this and it can actually be inferred from reading the bible, however, from my studies, the actual original word used doesnt have that much of a distinction
Re: Did Joseph Prince Really Say This? by esere826: 11:20pm On Mar 09, 2016

Lustful thoughts are not masturbation and nobody said they are, but if one is a sin and it is fueled by the other, both are sin, which is precisely why Peter prescribes sobriety in dressing by women

Now let me ask you. Is watching porn a sin?

Gombs Gombs,
what is CONVICT THE WORLD OF SIN?

Joagbaje's definition is narrow for if sin ONLY means unbelief in Jesus, then all who never heard about Jesus have never sinned

Here is a biblical definition of sin;
1 John 3:4 (KJV)
for sin is the transgression of the law.

So please try and avoid clichés

I'm not really concerned about the sin vs no-sin part

the point that i tried to make was that this your logic is shaky: if masturbation for health aint sin, then masturbation for recreation aint sin either.
Perhaps, you could use some other logic to buttress your point, but definitely not that one. Anyone with a little intellect will tear it down easily

I'll tell you a true story. A building collapsed and mum and baby daughter were trapped for days and thirsty. The mum slit her wrist and gave her blood to the child to drink.
If this is to be argued in a theological court, won't it be absurd to build logic around the act rather than the intent?

Re: Did Joseph Prince Really Say This? by Scholar8200(m): 11:39am On Mar 10, 2016
Since peace is one of the expression of the fruit of the Spirit, and we are enjoined to let this peace (of the Spirit) rule in our hearts such that a loss of that peace (when we sin/grieve the Spirit) makes our hearts trouble/condemn us in which case our prayers are hindered, since that peace and its absence is by the Spirit's moderation, then indeed He convicts us when we go wrong/sin to help us retrace our steps if we will:

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]
Colossians 3:15

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace,
Galatians 5:22a

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

1John 3:20,21

Now any believer who sins and still claims to retain this peace is a blind reprobate.

wait a minute, if masturbation was asked for in a medical facility, probably a fertility clinic, are you of the opinion that Christians shouldn't partake in such?
Would you object to a man gripping your wife( you don't have any) goods because a gynecologist freely does it?
The issue you have is somewhat in line with obsession... you just go all around, on all threads mentioning masturbationn, or divorce, like a baby who lost his toy.
It was your boy Joagbaje who reasoned that since there is medical use of masturbation it ain't no sin. I just used his idiocy to smack some sense into his puny brain cool

grin grin grin grin

NB: Porn... Pastor Chris addressed this in one communion service... I'd find the notes.
Oyaks is a pro on divorce, a professional failure, an anointed one at that.....that's something I'll consult him on grin grin
Holla when when pens his Divorce Files
