I had to write on the topic Children becoming parents due to the rate at which children and teenagers are fast becoming nursing mothers and fathers .

I choose this topic to reflect on the societal happenings and the resultant effect of moral decadence in our society.
Permit me to say that I aint gonna dwell on the legal implication of the issue neither the religion aspect as portrayed by the media or who to blame between the girl or the boy child.

I termed the teens and age bracket below it as children cos majority, if not all are still under the tutelage of their parental care and its sad that the parents are fast becoming grandparents due to their negligence and lack of parental care, influence of the society, failure of the govt and curiosity and high handedness of the children who have decided to throw caution to the wind in their bid to experiment .

These children who are supposed to be in the four walls of the schools seeking knowledge and putting to practice what they have been taught have suddenly become parents or nursing mothers.

Its so sad that the society is not arresting this ugly trend. They seems not to condemned such acts where children are competing with their parents to share the maternity rooms and beds .

It’s so sad also that education seems not to be a thing of pride anymore to our children especially those whose societies have added to such woes.
Some of us are products of a hard core society, yet we came out hard and strong not minding the negative societal influence.
But as it stands now, the economy hardship has added salt to the injury of the societal decadence. Parents and guardians have turned their wards to bread winners and have equally lost the capacity to caution or trained these children when the needs arise.

They turned their face around when these children exhibits some funny and condemnable habits just because they have result to rely on these children as bread winners.

Parents and Guardians should know that the teen period is the stage of modeling and such time, their mentor-ship is highly needed as a guide.

Most of these children go thru pains and neglect whenever they are either impregnated by their “lovers” or a wayward and irresponsible man who have played on their ignorance and low level of exposures.

Their process of journey to their desired destination in life seems truncated and having a stumbling block that could only be a stepping stone if corrective measures are applied to make them the chief corner stone.

There is need for us to re-visit our lost morals and inculcate same into our society. Parents should speak against nauseating attitudes of their wards irrespective of their low state of financial status.

They should help to save the next generation from drifting to indiscipline and bad mannerism.
They should assist their children especially the teens to get it right in life as that stage is the most crucial stage where parental guide is most needed
