chimaXYZ:My 2cents. My advice is that you shouldn't have high expectations. It takes sometime to settle in Canada. If you are a Christian, pray to your God well that Canada should favour you, Muslims should pray likewise too. When you arrive, try as much as possible to upgrade your licence to Canadian standard if you are in a regulated profession. If you are in a non-regulated profession, you may eventually need to get some sort of professional qualification or attend Canadian colleges/uni for a course related to your discipline. Definition of success differs among people. Some are okay with clerical or dead end job, while some want highly skilled jobs. I have seen nigerians that are okay with $15 hr jobs and some are not okay with $40 per hour jobs. Also, employers here love Canadian qualifications, and work experience. Pls make sure you have the sufficient funds required for settling as Stated by CIC. Changing licences to canadian standards, going back to school, rent, furniture's, clothes e.t.c cost a lot of money here when compared to other developed countries. Also network as much as possible with professionals in your field. Alot of jobs are secured through networking. 3 Likes |

dfash2000: Hi, you'll have to formally adopt the child. There's a government office at Alausa for this, please check with them for the full guidelines. With the formal adoption papers, you'll be able to add the child to your PR application. 3 Likes |

Goodday every one. Pls i have few questions. Unfortunately for me, i used an agent who doesnt carry one along well enough. I was picked form the general pool without provincial nomination, but i was out of the country for some months and couldnt get the uk police report as i studied there for a year (cos i was preoccupied). The rest of my documents r ready, can i go ahead to submit those without the police report (note i left the uk every 3mnths during the course of the program). Also is there an email i can send a message to, asking for ab extension due to my inability to get some documents because i was out of the country for medical reasons? It expires in 3days time and i am confused as to what step to take. Thanks in advance |

Hello Zandora, kindly advise please. I have already applied for my transcripts to be sent to WES. However, can I send a copy of my certificate by email; if yes, what is the email address? Or can I send a copy to my Alma Mater and ask them to include it or is self postal the only option for the photocopy of the certificate? Thank you. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora: 4:28am On Mar 10, 2016 |
XavierCad: Yes you can tell your school to include the copy of your certificate with your transcript. |

yokus: Better don't submit your application without your UK PCC otherwise you'll receive an instant refusal. CIC only gives exceptions to those countries whose PCCs take long to obtain eg the FBI PCC. The UK PCC is one of the easiest to obtain, infact you can get it within 1 week after you apply. Also, haven't you read the updated PCC requirements that was done in February? Regardless of if you took breaks or not you have to provide a PCC for the countries you lived in for a total of 6 months (before it used to be for 6 months in a row), therefore as you studied in the UK for a year you definitely need a UK PCC. Finally, you can't send an email for extension, either you have the documents after the 60 days allowed or you don't. I wonder why you didn't get the Uk PCC all this time even if you were out of the country. You don't need to be physically present in the UK to apply as all you needed to have done was to apply for it via the ACRO website. I myself applied for the UK PCC and received it very fast. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sixth Express Entry Draw of 2016 for Immigration to Canada 9th March 2016 CRS 473, 1,013 ITAs Issued Clearly if your point is below 400-450 you better look for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to better your chance! This January, Saskatchewan opened and within 3 days it closed because it reached the numbers it wanted. The trick is: get all your docs ready. You create a profile and upload all your docs then submit once it opens. That's exactly what I did. 2 Likes |

yokus: You would have to let it go. Tell your agent to recreate a new EE Profile for you cuz the one you have now will expire when you dont submit your application. When he/she recreates your profile, you can then be in the pool again and get the chance to be selected again, then you can submit your documents to apply. Note that, it may not take time for all this to happen so, ensure you obtain the UK PCC asap. |

Thanks Zandora... i didnt have the 2 documents showing my new place of residence, which i also needed to upload, my bank stil had my old address, so i couldnt have used the statement. princey83: Everyone has stories. Much as what you have noted here may be happening, there are still people having an headway, Zandora here even shared her own experience. I've also read from someone who got a job like days after getting there so, it might just be different strokes for different folks. Dont get me wrong, i'm not putting down your submission but like someone mentioned, it may be necessary you avoid negative people and negativities when you get there so you don't get discouraged in the process of finding your feet. 7 Likes 1 Share |

ZannyShasha: You and hubby will write, this is to help shoot up your score. Age will drop your marks with like 5points i think. IELTS has nothing to do with getting your transcripts to be sent by your school to WES but, you must pay WES first and get a reference number which you will give to school as they will quote it in the covering note for the transcript. Schools generally dont give transcripts to students, so just pay them to use courier to send it to wes for you. Meanwhile, i advise you find a way of getting a scanned copy cuz there could be opportunities that will come which will require you to send scanned copies your transcripts. I hope with these few points of mine, i've been able to convince you and not confuse you.... 1 Like |

Please hartson, I am considering New Zealand too, How is the processing like and where does one even begin. hartson: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by chimaXYZ: 9:16pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
akeenade: @hartson, I think you can look at Aussie which gives you automatic PR status in New Zealand too once you become a PR in Australia. But the reverse is not the case. And I think that if you qualify for NZ, then you most probably would qualify for Aussie(I stand corrected though). For Aussie, check the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) @ https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/SOL That would be for Independent Skilled Migration. If your occupation is not on that list, then could check the various states for their respective lists and purse sponsorship from one of them. Victoria is a brilliant location. And I think they are pretty straightforward. http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/visas-and-immigrating/occupation-lists/state-nomination-occupation-list-for-victoria#.VuHSW_mLSM8 I honestly think that the Aussie migration process is much more straightforward and better streamlined than that of Canada. Please read the article below. (DIGITAL TALENT - Road to 2020 and Beyond) http://www.ictc-ctic.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ICTC_DigitalTalent2020_ENGLISH_FINAL_March2016.pdf On page 44 (Promising practice — Expediting the migration process for in-demand occupations in Australia), you will notice that "the labour force participation rate for primary skilled migrants was 95.6% compared with the national average 64.8%." And that goes to buttress the point that immigrants do "much better" in the labour market in Aussie as compared to Canada. I say this bearing in mind that a lot of varied metrics come together and that it could be a wild generalisation. But the statistics are Aussies favour anyway! My point is that Aussie is a very good alternative if not better depending on "where you stand" of course. Cheers! 1 Like |

akeenade: If you don't have a job offer in new Zealand, it may be difficult to get their PR, as they give priority to people with job offers first or if can score 140 on their point test. It's a long shot but you can try 1 Like |

hartson: princey83: princey83: JesusDWay: I never said people don't have an headway, or can't get jobs immediately after stepping off a plane. There are jobs, and there are JOBS. I only mentioned that success means different things to different people. It's a well known fact that Canada has a small job market (excellent jobs that is) and these particular jobs are highly competitive. I advised on how best one can penetrate the hidden market of these particular jobs. e.g there is a reason why international students in Canada usually become the best set of immigrants to Canada; they understand the system very well, and know how to use it to their advantage. The ''getting rich'' I meant about some particular profession means that these set of professionals don't really do anything extra-ordinary in their chosen career, but still easily earn a well above average income ($100,000 and above) when compared to other career choices, and their skills are always in demand. They also don't even need to build a network before landing a rewarding career. I guess I used a wrong choice of word (my Apology). I gave the reality of what is on ground. I also gave an advice on what new immigrants need to do to integrate successfully into the society. I wish everyone success in their endeavors. 4 Likes |

mozo: I think the best is to open a new thread on that but my fear is that I might not be able to contribute much when people start bombarding me with questions and enquiries cos I managed to revolve round and round their site before I was able to understand how it works.currently I am on 120 points.Had it being I have an offer of job or a masters degree that will catapult me to 140.The obstacle as you rightly pointed is to get an offer from an employer in New Zealand which sites like Kiwis, workhere,Aucklandjobs may be helpful. |

princey83: also with New Zealand EOI model.CIC launched EE January 2015 after the FSW 2014 which of course was paper base while Australia's Skill Select Program and New Zealand Expression of Interest has always being done online before Canada decided to adopt the same model through EE program last year. |

Thank you very much @Zandora. The document to be uploaded included proof of marriage. The worry still remains that the time for me to prepare and take English test is short because the next available date is 2nd of April 2016 and I have no idea when the test score will be available for uploads. So we decided to write to them stating that he is not including me in the application but even at that, the application is still requesting for my Medical report, Police report and Bio data page of my passport. I will appreciate your opinion. Thanks zandora: |
