Jaywon242: Lab report is ok. I insist she should visit the hospital, just to err on the side of caution. @ 6weeks gestation, I expect exaggerated PMS- like symptoms and a little more, but your complaint is out of place for me. Is she currently on any medication(s)? |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Baxilexi(m): 10:15pm On Mar 09, 2016 |
@rukkington It's possible but not necessary. Wait till CD 21. Inspite of everything, do takeout time to breathe, ok? |

Please doctor, am 4weeks pregnant and am having lower back ache like (jedijedi) even before I knew I was pregnant. What is the cause and is it normal. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by sofadj(m): 12:15am On Mar 10, 2016 |
toitoi: Did the backache start before the pregnancy? While back ache may be caused by pregnancy due to hormone released by your body which loosens ligaments support of your back bone it is unlikely that this would begin as early as 4 weeks. Be that as it may, do these things -See your doctor to further evaluate you -Improve on your posture - Sit straight, Walk upright -Use Cold compresses (bag of ice ) on your back for 20mins -Use Warm compresses (warm cloth) on your back too -Use analgesics - Paracetamol is safe in pregnancy Regards Dr Sofa |

toitoi: its most likely very normal. D preggy hormones act on ur ligaments makin dem softer. So its a bit uncomfy n may resolve over time. if ur bed is soft dats anoda cause. Lying on firm bed or surfaces do help As rightly suggested cold or hot compress wit balm give gud relief |

Baxilexi: Thnx Doc and @Donatee, I'm grateful I asked a question which u av not replied, I said is it necessary to run ECS test when I av done HVS test before and it ruled out infection |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by Baxilexi(m): 11:25am On Mar 10, 2016 |
Rukkington: ECS is different from HVS, so yes, you should do it. Make sure all tests are done at a reputable lab. 1 Like |

I gave birth 9 months ago. I and hubby plan to have another baby on the way once baby clocks 7mths. My period returned when the baby was 4mths. Initially, my period was irregular but the last three cycles is 27days. I have tried using ovulation kit to see if I can pick my ovulation day. No luck. What do I do |

Mzhappiness: Ovulation pain may vary in severity from a mild lower abdominal discomfort to a more serious one. It is usually one sided - the side of the ovary releasing the egg lasting few minutes to hours. Several theories abound as the cause of this pain. The most widely accepted is the theory of follicular fluid being released along with your egg which causes some form of irritation to the abdominal cavity onto which it is released. Ovulation pain is normal however it varies in severity from cycle to cycle and from women to women. To know if your pain is due to ovulation: Determine if it occurs around your mid-cylce ( 2weeks from the first day of your menses) If your pain is severe or lasts more than a day, see a doctor who will help evaluate for other causes of the pain. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by sofadj(m): 11:44am On Mar 11, 2016 |
BLACKPANTHER: The best approach depends on the microbial sensitivity pattern of your region. In layman terms ; an antibiotic may be effective against a bacteria infection0 in a region and resistant in another region. That being said, there have been a report of widespread resistance to Ciprofloxacin by the bacteria that causes Gonorrhea making Ciprofloxacin unrecommended. If resistance is suspected, I strongly suggest you promptly visit a hospital and laboratory where microscopy, culture and sensitivity may be done to identify the most effective drug in your case and be properly managed. |

mrsfrank: Did u repeat d urine culture to b sure it was cleared? Ecs culture n a pelvic scan shld rule out pelvic infections Age, sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, n sleeping on very soft surfaces may b a cause. I recommend u see an orthopaedic Doctor for review |
