I'll try to be short!

I stay with an uncle who has a 5year old daughter, so kids are always coming to play in the house. However i witnessed something tonight that broke my heart.

just as i was scrolling through nairaland, i started hearing one of the neighbours kid telling a story, what drew immediate attention was this

''he now touched her t.oto''

You are schocked right?

I wanted to slap her but i decided not to, i wanted to really know what she was talking about!

To my utter amazement, this young gal started delving into the world of porn with the words she was using..,

words like 'p.rick' 'she now bend her bu.m bu.m' and some other words i cant even type here cause i feel awkward thinking abt it.

It was very obvious she was talking about a p.orn clip she must have watched. Well i know this cos who haven't watched porn? I was bitter, angry and disturbed! How did a small gal get access to a porn video, when and where did she watch it?

Well she has 2 elder brothers and 2 elder sisters, she may have watched it on the phone of one of them or even in a neighbours house cos i've noticed these kids are allowed to walk into any neighbours room. As i'm typing(8:33pm) that kid is still here. Arent her parents worried that she's not home by now?

If you are a parent or have younger ones


1. KEEP YOUR PHONES OUT OF REACH OF YOUR KIDS:

Apart from the fact that they might have access to adult materials, i think exposing them too early to smart phones would do more harm than good. If you must keep porns on your phone you can download a vidoe/pic hiding app from googleplay. A good one is NQ SECURITY. Dont just conclude that they can't operate your phone, you'd be surprised.


2. ENROL THEM FOR EXTRA SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

If you are a very busy parent and arrive home late, you can enrol them into some after school activity that they can exert their energy on and far away from predators. You can look for a music school, balle or chess club, etc.


3. LEARN TO COMMUNICATE

Learn to communicate with your kids no matter what. Ask them questions, tease them, teach them to open up, dont be the dad that barks or the mum that nags. Your kids are not frustration recieving machine, dont pour your frustration on them.


4. PUT SOMEONE IN CHARGE OF THEM

You'd be surprised how many people would be willing to watch over your kid if you would only ask plus dont forget to get them a loaf of agege bread. This is necessary cos when something happens to your kid you know who to ask and where to run to.


5. DONT JUST ASSUME OR BE NON CHALANT

Dont just think that a pervert cant reach your kid. What if its already happening, what if that teacher you so much trust, that relative, that neighbour, that friend is the pervert. Be involved in the growth of your kid.
