Shrekandfiona you said what exactly was on my mind, reading phobia I really don't understand why people interested in investing millions of their hard earned money into this birthing project will not be interested in reading and researching further I just tire. Feddy27 you hit the nail on the head too let people research and find new doctors instead of recycling and giving too much attention to the old doctors and they end up doing price review abi wetin dem dey call am 5 Likes 1 Share |

Going to Houston by 2nd wk in april, am using United flight but first connecting flight will be from abuja by Luftansa. So its abuja to Frankfurt by Luftansa, Frankfurt to Newark (new jersey as my poe), then Newark to Houston all by United. Return houston directly to lagos. Flight ticket cost 315,578. quote author=blue355 post=43709255]Hi May/June Mamas, Anyone travelling to houston by end of April?....which flights are you using? any reasonably priced flights?[/quote] |

Please who has flown Iberia or Turkish airlines before? Are they safe? Covers face. I am seriously tempted to swing that way cos these Delta, BA and co are calling prices that can buy an entire village. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by LadyGuinivere: 1:02pm On Mar 13, 2016 |
happytbaby:Have flown both. Both have limited leg room. Iberia especially. TA can like to miss the connecting flight and delay u. So if u are like me that can like to like cheap things , u can just prepare your mind and claim 'the trip was an adventure and the plane was cosy' 3 Likes |

Ha Lady G, thank you o. I am like you when it comes to cost cutting, however I have learnt the lesson the hard way not to cut costs on some things.....with belle, old woman that has leg issues and active toddler...that leg room is important o. Also, missing connecting flight won't be funny o....we better start gathering millions for the tickets. LadyGuinivere: |

For those who can recall, I have a very detailed transcript of wifey'so interview before I took it off for personal reasons. I am however undecided about the POE trnscripts because of what transpired there. However, I will state some facts: 1. As soon as we gave our passports, my wife was asked why she is here. She said child birth. The next next question was where? She said El-paso. The CBP changed countenance and said "the fact you are going to El Paso is not a good sign at all". 2. Doctores Para Ti is not in their good books (at least in IAH), 3. If you must use Doctores Para Ti try to pay ahead and take proof of payment from your bank as well as from Doctores Para Ti or stand the risk of being sent back to Naija. 4. If you must use El paso, pay for your accommodation ahead. Let the cash on you be for miscellaneous expenses. Carry enough cash irrespective of payments already made. This will show solvency. 5. I discovered Houston POE has nothing against birthing in the USA just make sure you are intact and give honest answers. 6. If you have given birth in the states before, always carry your receipts whether vacationing or not. 7. As we were advised by the CBP, do not use hospitals or doctors that people have been using. Do some research, America is a very big place with many hospitals and doctors. Use the power of Google one of the greatest inventions of our age. This is what people like ladyguinivere and feddy27 have been advising. 8. The Houston POE follow this thread and nairaland. 9. Just like many feared, they no longer regard those e-mails to the consulate. So better you get your plans straightened out. I understand with the dollar palaver, many plans may change. However, try to stick to your plans as much as possible. Be genuine. I am sorry to say but a lot of Nigerians have abused the privileges given in the past and as such future intending mothers pay then price. 10. Be prepared, prayerful and never argue with the CBP. You can make your point whenever given the chance. I will write more as I remember. Later on, I will respond to the questions earlier addressed to me. Thank you! 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Good morning all. We praise God for a smooth entry. He is indeed awesome & He answers prayers. DW & I arrived Houston through JFK yesterday. POE at JFK was a breeezeee. Passport control was crowded. We did an initial self-service at the Global Entry Kiosk before joining the line. A Queue Marshall expedited us when she noticed DW was pregnant & directed us to a CBP. CBP asked purpose of trip & we said childbirth. Took our fingerprints & stamped us in. I asked would that be all & he said yes. He didnt ask for a single document. We went to agric & nothing was seized. Bags were scanned and off we went to connect our flight to Houston. Didnt spend up to 5 minutes in all. We thank God for a wonderful testimony. His name be praised. I wish our dear mums & dads-to-be testimonies of successful visa interviews, POE stories & safe delivery. Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this Forum. We shall always have reasons to celebrate in our homes in Jesus name. Amen 12 Likes |

sylolo:Lay the facts bare so we can advice. How early did LO come? How long was spent at NICU. How much was the total bill and how much discount has been given Unfortunately From recent cases seems like Nics has become obstinate with further discount With my first child I pushed and pushed till they gave me something good for extra day cuz of jaundice These days I see them standing their ground after the first discount has Been given. You can involve your dr though and see if it helps All the best |

KDK: This! Thank you! !! Some of this hospitals and destinations (I've read of some of these investigations prompted by asians who use them) get investigated in relation to birth tourism, so the chances of being delayed are higher when you use their information at some POE. There was a link posted by Justwise, very detailed showing different states and the health care charges. All one needs to do is factor in accommodation, transport and other expenses and choose. Many of us go on this journey without knowing anyone there so there's no real need to insist on using the commonly used places, there are cheaper places that have not been discovered. If you must use a frequently used state, dig deep like some people have done. Be a forerunner for others too. If you can afford more then don't go for the cheapest options, just use a decent package that is affordable to you. 2 Likes |
