Had my speaking test today. It went fine. I wanna advise those yet to have theirs, in addition to all the preparations you will make, PREPARE YOUR MIND. I mean, you must be able to think fast. Most probably, what you have prepared for is HOW to answer the questions, but you also need to be sharp and smart to know WHAT answers to give, especially in the 3rd section. Goodluck!

u right the question is not hard...but some kinda twist in the third one..the subject given to me is abt a novel....I answered the first n second section...but the third section where she ask abt the influence of detective novel n examples in Nigeria where as I dnt read read such novels..my reading is based on articles,newspapers e.t.c...I Just answered her abruptly n the rest follows...

What a question.....lol), then she asked if i like working in groups, what are the benefits of working in group, what do i hate about working in group; 2nd part......describe a recent conversation you had and how important it was to you, 3rd part, she was asking me technical questions...in your culture, how easy do people like to talk with strangers, compare men-men conversation and women-women conversation; what are the common topics of conversation in your culture; do you prefer face-to-face conversation or phone conversation......imagine those questions! What concern me with common conversations in my culture....but I just dey answer them smartly one by one. All in all, twas good. Expecting a good result.

Though my time was for 5pm, but I got there around few minutes to 4 and I was attended to. Left the place 4:35pm. So i guess, you are permitted to come earlier than scheduled time

every schools in the USA request for TOEFL or any equivalent,but there are some schools n colleges that it's ENGLISH proficiency is optional....whereby u write your admission officer in order to defend Nigeria as an ENGLISH speaking in order to waive it for you with documentation in case if us consul ask for a waiver letter...I got a cousin that deals with us n Canada schools n college.... his friend is presently in Virginia for his masters...

it depends on the schools or the country you apply to...most of the schools in Australia requested for a 6.0 band score...

yea...e.g you can apply to Virginia international university in Virginia....they will ask for TOEFL or other equivalent but you will write the sch admission officer in order to state that Nigeria is an ENGLISH speaking country in order to waive it for you....I got a cousin that deals with us n Canada schools n colleges...in my own case I'm using a travel agent to save me the stress...

I did my speaking test this afternoon the questions wey twisted and I stutter a little but I give God all the glory cos I was able to make my point.

I scored 7.5.
Its a pretty straight forward exam if you've been speaking and writing English all your life
