Note, I said Iheanacho must make the team. Not starting lineup. If the coach wants to revert to a 4-4-2 role, Nacho is someone I Trust and I have seen play that role well repeatedly. All this other guys are not as familiar as Nacho in supporting a striker to excel.

Note I am reacting to your "must" statements and u reasoning that Iheanacho cannot sit on the bench.

Iheanacho might be combining well with Aguero in Mancity does that automatically mean he will be the best player to pair with Ighalo in the Olympic team? I dnt think so. See, my point is there is no certainty in all these selection options. Siasia may prefer to pair Aaron Samuel with Ighalo, remember Aaron paired with Emenike in several of our qualifiers under Keshi. So Aaron is tested in that position at senior national level.
Siasia may even chose not to start Ighalo.

What if Siasia does nt think Iheanacho can fit into his Team's philosophy?

I am not saying Iheanacho is not good enough to make the team. I am only against that word "must". Remember I said Iheanacho's versatility increases his chances of making the squad cos he can play as a supporting striker, main striker, number 10 and a winger.

sia1 has a wonderful selection headache on his hands especially regarding which strikers to use but i trust him to make the right choices. like icon noted i don't think we need ighalo in rio. we already have so many young attackers who are u23 that i feel can do the business are we forgetting ajayi so soon or awoniyi or osimhen? add success, iheanacho and chikatara would you know it we are practically covered. i think we should focus on areas were we are not so strong eg defence. happy to see the emergence of that young boy in porto. there's also one guy in bolton a former madrid prospect can't recall his name now he can also bolster the defence. i'm rooting for leon balogun to help form the core of the defence line for rio. kingsley madu looks a sure bet for leftback hopefully stanley amazie can rediscover his form and give him a run for his money. i'm also worried for musa mohammed hopefully when he's called to camp he will regain his confidence.

Get me. I said team. Not the starting lineup. In Coach Siasia's final selection of players to go to Rio. I believe Nacho must be on the team due to giving Coach Siasia technical flexibility.

With Nacho in the squad, he can select him and revert to a 4-4-2 formation. That is either in the starting lineup or Nacho coming in from the bench.

So who do you think is the best option to pair with Ighalo upfront if Coach Siasia decides to play a 4-4-2 formation.

Nigeria is blessed with talents.
Imagine 10 top notch players fighting for a role(CF) in d Olympic's team.
Siasia n his crew get work o.

A player's ability won't guarantee him a place in d team. It will go beyond this. Other factors like attitude, leadership skill, adaptability to d coaches philosophy, commitment etc don't for get their 'club releasing them' factor will play a vital role on who n who will be on board for the Rio Olympics.

Wishing Siasia d best but he has no room for selection excuse.

It could be Iheanacho, It could b Aaron, could be Success, Chikatara or even Osimhen. Bt it "must" nt be Iheanacho.

Siasia would have d final say.

I am even seeing a situation where Iheanacho could b played as an AM and nt a striker. He stands tall in that position. Our strike options are many.

I agree with the factors if their clubs releasing the players early. If I am correct, that was why Mikel lost his place in 2008. Chelsea released him late and despite him being one of the star players of the team, Coach Siasia dropped him.

So on point bro. Infact if u ask me let us nt even take any over aged players. The talented U23 players are enough to do the job. Odion Ighalo easily stands out from amongs our strikers. I wish we take U23 strikers to Rio so they can get d necessary exposures and among other things sign for better clubs thereby giving Ighalo a run for his money.

We dnt have quality natural right backs in d Super Eagles. This would b d opportunity to groom one and promote to d Super Eagles.

We need to raise young centre backs that would send Ambrose and Obaobona into early retirements.

Echiejile's position is already being threatened. Madu and Amuzie need to b in Rio to prove that they are capable of replacing Echiejile.

Ogenyi Onazi has been our best DMF player for close to 4yrs. He has no competitor and so is only absent from d team when injured or on suspension. We need to take Ndidi and Azubuike to Rio. They may come back and give Onazi a run for his money.

I need nt say much about Mikel. We have seen the best of him. We need to see a new central midfielder emerge.

Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa are pretty young and could be part of the new team. Moses Simon is already a starter in d Super Eagles.

We dnt need any over aged player in this team.Any stage the teams gets to, let it be it.We have won d Olympic Gold before so no big deal if we dnt win this one. But i believe even without over aged players this team will go very far.

For the golden generation that we have so expected to emerge, we need to see the best of these players in the Olympics. And not those overaged players that have already passed d peak of their careers.

EXCLUSIVE | Siasia reveals Stanley & Moruf stance from Nigeria call-up
By Marwan Ahmed

Super Eagles boss Samson Siasia confirms Egypt-based Nigerians are in the frame for a call-up to the national team.

Nigeria manager Samson Siasia exclusively revealed to KingFut that Nigerian stars plying their trade in the Egyptian Premier league are in the scope for a call-up to the national team.

Wadi Degla ace Stanley Ohawuchi and Zamalek maestro Moruf Yusuf have both been performing really well, in particularly the former, who has been scoring nonstop for Degla since his arrival to Egypt from Malta.

STAT: @StanleyOhawuchi has now scored 26 goals in 48 #EgyPL games since arriving at @wadideglafc. pic.twitter.com/XOQfenJ5xm

— KingFut.com (@King_Fut) February 6, 2016

Regarding a future call-up, Siasia told KingFut: “They have a chance of course. It takes time to watch all the players.

“We will watch everyone but it is a hard task to watch all players at the same time,” Siasia continued.

“As you saw, we called up a lot of players to our camp so everyone has a chance. We will definitely take a look at everyone but it is hard to look at all the players at the same time.

Siasia is assisted by former Zamalek and FC Barcelona star Emmanuel Amunike in his coaching staff and due to his experience in Egyptian football, it would’ve been of no doubt that he had passed on advice to the manager about football in Egypt.

“Of course, he knows you guys. He knows Egypt as he played there before. He knows you guys well so he has passed on some recommendations which will definitely help us,” Siasia told KingFut.

Nigeria are set to face Egypt on the 25th of March in Kaduna, before playing the return leg in Alexandria four days later.

Osimhen braced for U23 duty
by Andrew Randa

Former Fifa Under-17 top-scorer Victor Osimhen has declared he is ready to give his best after arriving at the Abuja camp of the Nigeria Under-23 team from his base in Germany.

The Wolfsburg striker, winner of the golden boot at the 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile, is the first foreign-based player to hit camp as the ‘Dream Team’ prepare for the international friendly against Brazil on March 24.

Osimhen was part of the squad that won the 2015 Caf Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal to help Nigeria to qualify for the football event of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

"It's always fun for me to come to camp and play for my country. I see it as a privilege and will always honour such invitations any time I am called upon,” Osimhen told thenff.com.

"I have come to fight for a jersey in this friendly match that is part of preparations for the Rio Olympics and I am happy to be among the invited players.

"You know I was part of the Golden Eaglets team that defeated the Brazilians at the last Under-17 World Cup in Chile and so it will be a pleasure for me to play them in their backyard and hopefully find the back of the net as I did against them in Chile."

AWONIYI NOT IN LIVERPOOL PRE SEASON TOUR PLANS

On loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi is not at the moment guarantee to be involved in Liverpool’s pre season tour owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Awoniyi is on a season long loan to German second division side FSV Frankfurt since joining Liverpool in the summer despite interest from other top clubs following his fine showing for the U-20 and 23 team of Nigeria.

The 18 year old has forced his way into the starting line up at German side FSV Frankfurt where he has played in their last four games but still waiting for his first goal for the struggling second division team.

However his fine form is yet to get the attention of the decision makers at Liverpool as he is yet to be officially communicated if he will be recalled at the end of the season to join them in their pre season tour.

AGENT: AWAZIEM WAS INITIALLY UNHAPPY WHEN FC PORTO ASKED HIM TO PLAY CENTRE BACK

The agent of FC Porto rising star Chidozie Awaziem says the 19 year old was not comfortable the first day he was asked by the coach of FC Porto B team to play as a central defender.

Awaziem who is thriving at FC Porto as a central defender is one of the most coveted young teen defenders in Europe but he could easily have missed out on the chance if not for the intervention of his agent Babawo Mohammed.

“He went to FC Porto as a defensive midfielder, I can’t forget the day he was asked to play centre back for the B team because he called me up to say he is unhappy” Babawo Mohammed told owngoalnigeria.com.

“I spoke with him and I remember telling him they have seen something in him that’s why they want him to play centre back he reluctantly agreed but 18 months after he is much happy he made good use of the opportunity”.

A buy out clause of €30m was inserted in his new four year deal with FC Porto to ward off potential interest from top European teams who might be readying a bid for him.

Ugbo plays for Granada.

Because he plays seldomly in that position for his Club. Ajagun is a natural midfielder, he can anywhere in the midfield when we decide to change tactics while i see Kelechi Iheanacho plays as a striker or supporting striker. I think Ajagun can hold unto the better than Kelechi and i think Ajagun is more matured than him. However, we also have to consider the formation. I have only seen Iwobi played for Nigeria on the wing and it has been long i watched Arsenal-fc matches. So, i don't really no much about him.

His name is Uche Agbo and not Ugbo. He played at the 2013 FIFA U20 WC alongside Ajagun, Madu, Ndidi and co. He is not even a regular for Granada. He had been with Granada even before playing at that U20 of which he was nt even a starter. I consider his career development as slow. He would not make my Olympic team squad list.

Did you roll out those attributes of Ajagun based on his performance at U20 or you have been following him at his Greek Club? Where do you watch the Greek league? Youtube highlights mayb which may jst be 2-5mins videos.
The Ajagun that I know is the Ajagun of 2013 FIFA U20 WC. Ever since I have only watched 1 or 2 highlights of him scoring for his Club.
I am a Fan of the EPL so I watch Iheanacho and Iwobi almost every week. I have come to understand the capabilities of those 2 players and how best to maximize their potentials.

I dnt know Ajagun's current game level so I cannot stick my neck out and say anything for him. Let Siasia invite him to the U23 Camp for him to prove his worth.

I tire for forgiveness. He believes it is only players in Europe that deserve to play for the national teams. Uche Agbo wey get permanent spot for Granada bench. Next thing na to shout lets invite him before Spain or Holland caps him

I wanted to correct it but my internet service didn't permit me.

You said Agbo is not playing regularly for Granada but statistics shows that he has more game time than Iwobi. How many league matches did Iwobi played this season? 5 but he was only played for 45 minutes in all those matches while Agbo had played 6 league matches and had seen 255 minutes of game time. Oh! Iwobi played in the FA Cup, likewise Agbo played in Copa dey.... So how did Iwobi take enter ya list Sir?

Do you know that Ajagun played in UEFA Champions League qualifying round this season before they were Knockout of the tournament.

Before i answer your questions pls answer me. Where did watch Kingsley Madu before he was invited to the Super Eagles camp? The point is let them be all called and that's all.

Why does Ajagun even deserve to play for the team at all? He should not even be on the bench.

Why do you think he doesn't deserve to make the bench?
