janellemonae: The guy is a XXXX, yorubas are the only block group in Nigeria that have demonstrated that are politically sophisticated enough not to vote based on tribe. Yorubas as a voting block are key to the emergence of any Ibo presidient and what do my foolish Ibos brothers do? They begin to preach hatred towards yorubas. It's ok let them bring their candidate we are waiting! 3 Likes |

garfield16: Youngman, you too have finally confirmed what everybody has been saying about yorubas. They never show you their true colour till you turn your back an they backstab. That's exactly why the nation hates you people. Atleast,if an igbo man likes you,he will let you. If otherwise,he will also let you know. He is never two faced. And you have boldly magnified your two faced nature to be a virture. Sad. That's exactly why yorubas can't be trusted. They smile in your face and plan your death at your back. Abacha nearly fell for it under diya, olarenwaju etc. Please, its something to be ashamed of,not boast about 1 Like |

garfield16: sorry but every tribe in the south now hates yoruba. SE and SS tribes WILL NEVER VOTE A YORUBA MAN AGAIN. Your yorubas are the prodigal child of the south. The north will rule until nigeria breaks, make peace with that. NO MORE YORUBA PRESIDENCY, EXCEPT ALL NORTHERN CONTESTANTS DIE ON THE DAY OF THE ELECTION, which is impossible. Fasten your seatbelt and prepare for donkey years on hausa/fulani rule of you and your generation, you yorubas are treacherous and you will never be allowed to profit from treachery, shikena! let's see where yorubas will get their votes if the north will always vote north and the east will not yoruba. garfield16: Lies of hypocrisy from never-do-wells! Yorubas Are The Problem With Nigeria - By Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Elombah.com) In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude. The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics;Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; andThe Yoruba Factor and "Area-boy" Politics. My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was " Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors" published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. There was also an earlier publication in the weekly Trust entitled " The Igbo, the Yoruba and History" (Aug. 21, 1998). In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude. The Yoruba elite were the first, in 1962, to attempt a violent overthrow of an elected government in this country. In 1966, it was the violence in the West which provided an avenue for the putsch of 15th January. After Chief Awolowo lost to Shagari in 1983 elections, it was the discontent and bad publicity in the South-West which led to the Buhari intervention. When Buhari jailed UPN governors like Ige and Onabanjo, the South-Western press castigated that good government and provided the right mood for IBB to take over power. As soon as IBB cleared UPN governors of charges against them in a politically motivated retrial, he became the darling of the South-West. When IBB annulled the primaries in which Adamu Ciroma and Shehu Yar Adua emerged as presidential candidates in the NRC and SDP, he was hailed by the South-West. When the same man annulled the June 12, 1993 elections in which Abiola was the front-runner, the South-West now became defenders of democracy. When it seemed Sani Abacha was sympathetic to Abiola, the South-West supported his take-over. He was in fact invited by a prominent NADECO member to take over in a published letter shortly before the event. Even though Abiola had won the elections in the North, the North was blamed for its annulment. When Abdulsalam Abubakar started his transition, the Yoruba political leadership through NADECO presented a memorandum on a Government of National Unity that showed complete disrespect for the intelligence and liberties of other Nigerians. Subsequently, they formed a tribal party which failed to meet minimum requirements for registration, but was registered all the same to avoid the violence that was bound to follow non-registration, given the area-boy mentality of South-West politicians. Having rejected an Obasanjo candidacy and challenged the election as a fraud in court, we now find a leading member of the AD in the government, a daughter of an Afenifere leader as Minister of State, and Awolowo´s daughter as Ambassador, all appointed by a man who won the election through fraud. Meanwhile, nothing has been negotiated for the children of Abiola, the focus of Yoruba political activity. In return for these favours, the AD solidly voted for Evan Enwerem as Senate President. This is a man who participated in the two-million- man March for Abacha´s self-succession. He also is reputed to have hosted a meeting of governors during IBB´s transition, demanding that June 12 elections should never be de-annulled and threatening that the East would go to war if this was done. When Ibrahim Salisu Buhari was accused of swearing to a false affidavit, the Yoruba political elite correctly took up the gauntlet for his resignation. ... eyeview: Yorubas do not hate Ibos, we weren't raised with deep seated issues about tribe, I can say that is true for the average Yoruba. But in the last few years we are now realising you hate us and this is not the usual Ibo-yoruba-hausa stereotypes and meaningless banter that is normal when people of different ways cohabit. What is being revealed is deep seated hatred by the Ibos that quite frankly is shocking!!! When I say Yoruba wont vote for Ibos, it's not because we hate Ibos, but because we are finding out that the ibos are full of deep seated hate in their hearts for other tribes. Nobody votes for someone who sees him as an enemy. We dont hate Ibos, we just feel you people are psychologically damaged. you see yourselves as Ibos not Nigerians, wheras others see themselves first and foremost as Nigerians. As for the other crap you write, Only in yoruba land can an Ibo be elected legislator, it's not a new thing, Zik was a parliamentarian in the old western region voted for by yorubas, only in Yoruba land can Zik (an Ibo) vie for office as premier and win. That he was schemed out in the end was party politics at the top not the hearts of the yoruba people, if the common yoruba man did not want him they wont have voted for him. Only yorubas will vote for one party at the state level and vote against "their own party" at the federal level. We dont vote on tribe, we vote for the most progressive candidates. I said it earlier, this is a topic about Ibo presidency, if you like focus your energies on Yoruba/hausa dynamics (I don't know if the yoruba or hausa complained to you about marginalisation) and miss the real issue which is that while other tribes are building bridges, you are putting up walls and yet you expect to become president one day and will cry marginalkisation when people refuse to trust the leadership of the country to your hands. The more people work together the more they understand each other as Hausas and Yorubas work together, the more they understand each other, even if there are issues between us, the devil you know is better than the devil you dont know and right now the unknown devil politically is the Ibo . So if I were you and you really want an Ibo presidency, my advice is that you build bridges not walls because right now there is mistrust of the Ibo outside Iboland and you wont break the mistrust by preaching more hate. The north trusted Obasanjo and in return he handed over power to them in the form of yaradua when Yaradua died, GEJ became president and reneged on his agreement to serve only one term so he was promptly voted out by a north southwest partnership. GEJ isnt Ibo but this is exactly why the establishment will not trust Ibos with the presidency so do you think the North is going to make the same mistake they did with GEJ with an Ibo man? Add to that the common man is now feeling the hatred of the Ibos as a collective When Ibos get over the civil war propanganda na d start seeing themselves as Nigerians not Biafrans and stop the hate preaching, your lot will improve politically. Just look at Tinubu, at one point he controlled only 1 state, but he reached out and searched for alliances across the divide and the rest is history. In this country called Nigeria, Hausas and Yorubas, dont need the Ibos politically and whatever you may have to say, whatever your wailing, that's the bottom line!!! 3 Likes |

3xtr6r: no be today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WSosECbcmM I posted this to show that for every statement about one tribe there is one about the other.....at the end off the day they are meaningless. Sardauna and Sanusi are both royal blue blood direct descendants of Dan fodio, one says Yorubas are a problem, the other has a problem with Ibos and that's what you are hanging your hat on, don't you Ibos think? These are people at the top, they are all friends, their children are friends too. What really matters is what the common man feels and it's the common man that votes and I am telling you the common man of Nigeria will not vote for an Ibo president with all this IPOB madness, hate preaching and calls for secession. 2 Likes 1 Share |

garfield16: What the hell are you smoking? Definitely you need to go check yourself up for Cotard’s Delusion, “Walking Corpse Syndrome”! One more time: IGBOS ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE PRESIDENCY! Here's what a sensible Yoruba person stated earlier on this thread: MAINTWO: https://www.nairaland.com/2692759/kwakwansos-insult-yoruba-elders-not https://www.nairaland.com/2631382/cannot-continue-slaves-yorubaland-olu/4 http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/i-paid-ransom-to-regain-my-freedom-falae-confesses/221463/ https://www.nairaland.com/366016/matthew-mbu-tribalism-awo-north Asaba Genocide - Oct 7, 1967 Massacre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEaX9lVVrCM "We killed the Easterners for oil and nothing else"- Benjamin Adekunle. Over the decades in the South-West, the Yorubas have systematically burnt Igbo shops as a guise to hijacking the markets from Igbos. They hide under the guise of city development at the expense of the people's welfare and claim they had given the traders ample time to relocate and yet the demolition is carried out at odd times. Shops are demolished without compensation and someone will still say the traders were given sufficient notice of vacation as if the alternative is affordable. The proposed alternative shops are oftentimes so exorbitant and out of reach by the common man. Igbos are made to develop barren locations and thereafter chased away to an undeveloped area or a complex beyond the reach by the common man. Many a time the destruction of shops are selectively done exempting where Yorubas sell agbo, weed and fake medicine just like in Oshodi where Electronic shops belonging to Igbos were demolished. It takes a callous government to destroy livelihoods just to justify beautification of a city at the expense of people's economic empowerment. https://www.nairaland.com/2618835/hoodlums-shut-down-alaba-international https://www.nairaland.com/2846885/tears-lagos-demolishes-oshodi-market https://www.nairaland.com/2847030/crime-lagos-state-demolishing-oshodi#41720484 https://www.nairaland.com/2847088/photos-oshodi-electronic-market-demolished Prior to the 2015 general elections, amidst the threat by the lagoon crooner to drown Igbos, 18 Chisco transport buses were criminally burnt down in Lagos and up till date nothing was done to bring the culprits to book. What does 'One Nigeria' mean? A deceit where you are empowered to share my crude oil and wealth as 'One Nigeria' while I am considered a migrant to your State whom you're just merely accommodating and may perish in the lagoon at your command. It is a chaotic situation where the Oba of a place would invite the representative of a people for discussion in his palace as regards a market leadership dispute only to set an ambush for him and unleash hundreds of thugs to flog and disgrace him. It is an unjust situation where you're licensed to use foul means to destroy my business in your State with outrageous taxes. You can close my business premises at will while your elites continue to shout 'One Nigeria' to cover up the evils and injustices prevalent in the land. And you still expect me to be docile and continue to suffer silently as your hate and envy for my progress soar high. Now, do you have any case for unity - fake or imaginary? If you have there would no need fooling and playing to the gallery and shouting 'One Nigeria'. Or have you ever heard 'One Great Britain', 'One United States of America', 'One Germany'? That shows that something is fundamentally wrong which many have been shying away from. Is it a crime for any person/group to choose to opt out of a relationship? Strange bedfellows, with irreconcilable value systems that are at best suitable for the individual selves, are not meant to be together! The 102 years of existence attest to that verdict! http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/01/oshodi-market-demolition-affected-traders-reject-alternative/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbtKvPhzTOs https://www.nairaland.com/2850760/nothern-western-plot-against-south https://video-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hvideo-xpt1/v/t42.1790-2/12487846_868063953309605_943466236_n.mp4?efg=eyJybHIiOjMwMCwicmxhIjozMDI0LCJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6InN2ZV9zZCJ9&oh=02a09a5c73428c1965e5d174eb60ab94&oe=568F7AD5 March 8, 2016:https://www.nairaland.com/2979169/tears-ladipo-traders-fault-midnight |

janellemonae: garfield16: SMH. Mark my words, all other subregions, even minorities will produce a president before the SE zone produces one and just as generations of Ibos have not forgotten the civil war, it will take more than a generation for Yorubas to forget the hate in the Ibo hearts towards the Yorubas that we are noe seeing. Under which party are they going to contest? Is it APC that the igbos hate so much ? Because the PDP has zoned its presidency to the north . If APC field any ibo man they will lose because the ibos believe APC is an Islamic party and as such will never vote it.,APGA would have been a better option but they are a regional party with stronghold in anambra because of Ojukwu whom they even refused to vote to become president.
