Just checking in to show my solidarity with those currently processing admissions and visa. I hope to check in once in a while to contribute. To those who have helped uphold the thread this far, more grease to your elbow. To Justwise, our amiable moderator, thanks for doing a wonderful job. |

hello imperiouxx and other gurus. my friends wants to go to usa tru studnt visa, he doesnt intend studyin and he already hav his visa.. but the school asked for a deposit fees so that when he gets there his id card and other documnt would be ready which he hasnt paid, he wants to pay when he gets there. my questions are 1. is it possible for them to ask for the receipt of the deposit fees of the school at the usa port of entry? 2. even if he pays the deposit fees and gets to the school, if he collect the i.d card and move to another state asap, will the school report him? ... because he needs the i.d card for working Thanks |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by worry359(m): 9:06pm On Mar 16, 2016 |
Olacombs23: Yes the school will report you and cancel your visa (by notifying immigration that you have broken your conditions.) The i.d. card will be on record and will ring alarm bells wherever it is used. No legal work will be possible so you will only be able to take jobs on minimum wage that no one else wants. You will spend every day watching out for officials and police. Enjoy your stay. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I was rejected at the Abuja embassy on Monday for student f-1 visa and I just paid another application fee and plan for reapply tomorrow but my questions goes thus 1. Since I was rejected in Abuja when am re applying will it be advisable to choose abuja again or should I change the location to Lagos? 2. What are the chances of me being given since I was denied already? Please I need advice and criticism |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by Nobody: 12:23am On Mar 17, 2016 |
imperiouxx: We could go on and on about arguing, but that's not the reason for the thread. the highlighted parts are up for scrutiny, I won't criticize dem here, just re-read them and do a self-critique. Like I said, different people and different circumstances. The same way applying to one school could be seen as unseriousness, applying to many schools could be seen as desperation or being unsure of your study plans... keyword: could. Another thing you should consider is this: you make it look like some things are impossible. some things defy logic but they happen. Many roads lead to a market. You're more experienced than I am on this matter, and I acknowledge that fact. I'm just saying there are unique circumstances and you should always consider each case separately. I'll give you an example of a circumstance. Mr A. wants to study a particular course. That's what he wants. he has missed the admission deadline of most of the unis, just about 3 schools left. he applies to one cos GRE isn't compulsory, the remaining two... he puts on hold till the GRE result is out. before GRE result comes out, the school offers him admission with funding, bro... he has the freedom to choose whether to apply to the other two unis or NOT. Do you think explaining this confidently to a VO, would be nonsense just because lazy students apply to one school? Now I believe you understand what I'm trying to say. There are no right or wrong answers, different people and different circumstances. I THINK the key is to be able to justify whatever you've done/decided. why you applied to one school, why u decided to go for a particular course, why you did x or y, etc. Argument OVER! I could be saying rubbish sha, na just wetin I think. No vex sir. Pardon my inexperience. Abeg, I need to send money order or check to Georgia State Uni ($50). you fit help? I'll pay the Naira equivalent. Thanks. |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by Nobody: 5:54am On Mar 17, 2016 |
Richiebay: Hey Richiebay, I read your transcript and you did not sound convincing enough, and you applied to a single school. Saying you did not consider another school, sounds like there is a motive. A net search is not a convincing answer, you should have specified the web you used for your search. Stated you applied to more than one school, two or three. Anyway all i can tell you is to go and pray as you apply again. I don't know you well, but all i can tell you is that, all you need to do is pray. That did it for me. |
