You can't collect your visa more than 120days before the resumption date on your I20. That may be the reason for the rapid denial for those intending to resume around august. |

masquellett:I don't know why people enjoy WES somuch even with the stress. IERF is also one of d best, and they don't write back to ur school for any verification. Once u pay $165,they evaluate ur transcript(s) and send it to d school u want it to be sent and still send ur own copy. 3 Likes |
been thinking of that a lot...I guess me saying I wanting increase my knowledge to be able to come back and use it to work is not good enough...any ideas bro?
If u r asked why u chose the school, why not say something like during ur undergraduate research work or ur project work,u came across a Professor's article which helped u in ur research and u contacted the Professor in dat school and he or she was pleased with ur research and ur desire to work with him or u mention a cousin or uncle of urs who is an alumnus of the institution. That the knowledge and experience he or she got frm d university has helped the person to the rank of soo soo and soo in his field. I think its a better reason. |

Thank you Brother. The school is saying my Sevis ID will have to change since the previous 1-20 was cancelled . Some says I do not need to re-appear at the embassy and maybe possibly do transfer of Sevis . Not sure what to do exactly. imperiouxx: 1 Like |

One more quick question. I want to migrate to New york or South carolina, or Charlotte and I need Nursing schools from any of these two locations. From experiences, which of these 3 states will be better for me as new immigrant to live and study and then base there permanently? |

Anyiogwu: You'll most likely apply as freshman. EE and Nursing are 2 different fields from each other with entirely differing backgrounds and course works. You may or may not write TOEFL/IELTS depending on the school English requirements for international students you're applying to. Some schools waive TOEFL for Nigerians, some don't. And since you say you're a US resident already, the English requirement may be waived for you, also depending on where you did your secondary school (if in the US) or if you can prove that you are fluent enough in the English language. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by bigfrancis21: 1:33pm On Mar 17, 2016 |
Momoney77: Yea you can once you have your SEVIS number. If you don't have your SEVIS number yet, you can request for it by email from the international student office of your school. And make sure you book a date giving enough room to accommodate the arrival of your I-20 as you will need the document for your visa interview. 1 Like |

fizzile:I read somewhere in thier site-that you have to summit your original certificate (not statement) and that it will be sent back to you once the evaluation in done. Is that not risky if someone sent both his BS/MS cert for example. Just asking for those who have use it. |

My name is Tunde,Im currently doing a Master degree in Business Administration in one of the Universities in Ankara, Turkey. I just completed my class work and about to start my thesis.I intend to focus on Human Resources Management aspect of Business Administration and currently admitted for a certificate program in Human resources management at the University of California. The certificate program is a practical program that runs for nine month. I scheduled an interview here in Turkey and so bad was denied the visa on the ground of no strong family ties. I was working as an Assistant Manager coordinating my dads filling stations before coming here for my masters. The Visa Officer gave the reason for the denial as no strong ties here or in naija. Somebody suggested i return back home to naija to try the application again and change my status on the d 160 form from studying to working. Please I need guidance |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by worry359(m): 2:45pm On Mar 17, 2016 |
akintundeerin: Be honest! Do not consider lying or changing your story. Remember what you said before is on computer record. At the moment you have only been refused. If they think you are telling tales it will be worse. The visa officer has said that many are refused when applying from a second country because it is difficult to check ties to return home. Go back to Nigeria and re-apply with strong ties. |
