What we are saying is Amuneke or whosever is there should set his eyes only on the best. Osimhen and Nwakali might turn over out to be average when you compare them to Ross Barkley and Dele Ali. That's the point.

So, do you mean if we add Ross Barkley, Dele Ali, David Alaba and Jordon Ibe to our national team, they will not add value?

Who is better than Ross, Ali and Alaba in our present national team?
Why do you want to reap where you didn't sow? When your heart isn't in a place, you won't play to your potential. The Ross Barkley, Dele Alli and co you speak highly of could have been crap for us eventually. Apart from Odemwingie, which other european born player has achieved anything in Nigerian football? Just manage Iwobi for now

If we scout our grassroots better, we can discover talents as good as the Barkley's and Ibe's, if not even better. So when they decide to Feel English or Portuguese, we will not feel it.

That is why I will always be in support of using our U17 for the development of grassroot level football in the country.

If the likes of Dele Alli and Co. are too big to wait for their turn to wear the Green White Green like Aluko, Moses and Balogun, they can play for their three Lions or where ever they want to pledge their allegiance.

That is not the type we are looking for. We are looking for the types like Balogun who despite being born in Europe, feels Nigerian in his blood.

Ok! 'if' that is, we are still searching. Did you see what Ross Barkley did when he came on against Chelsea? What about Dele Ali?

So, if my cousins born abroad feel Naija and decides to play for Nigeria at age grade, he is not qualified ba?

Madam, i don't want to manage again else man go develop high blood pressure watching Eagles fall. I want us to try them first. Who knows they can eventually turn out to become another Odemwingie or Victor Moses. You see what i mean.

That cousin is abroad with better opportunities than the other kids in Nigeria. He should use those opportunities to grow and make himself a better footballer. When he is at a top level, he is welcome to come and help raise the level of Nigerian football.

As long as he feels Nigerian.

Bros, you don't know the emotions that comes in when your country turns you down. Do you?

Everybody has a dream and nobody has the right to deny anyone of his/her dreams.

What if they have the dream to win the U17, U20, U23...... with Nigeria? Will you deny them because of some people selfishness to sell market?

No one is stopping them from winning the U20. We welcome foreign based players to the U20 team.

The U17 is for grassroot development. If a turn down in U17 will change their allegiance, then they can play for where they want to play. In the future, the coaches drop big players. It is part of the business.

If a player respect the Jersey, he will wait for his turn.

Totally misunderstood the phrase. A Coach dropping Yaya in Barcelona is part of the business. No player is a regular or guaranteed a sport.

So if a young English Nigerian dreams of winning the U17. Not getting picked is part of the football business.

If the U17 Coaches wanted money, do you think it were pure water hawkers like Alampasu and Osimhen that will give them the money over European boys collecting allowances from big clubs?

The U17 being used for Grassroots level development is a good idea and any young player who respects his future teammate will appreciate the noble gesture.

It is not just about trophies but increasing the pool of players for our National team coaches.

I am waiting for Alaba and Dele Alli to win World Cup. They have not won U17. Yet they are ready to walkover the World Cup.

If the U17 is nothing, what are you bothering yourself for. Leave the U17 which means nothing to the big European players, for the young Nigerians who make something out of life with it.

Nacho, Osimhen, Alampasu, Kelechi Nwakali, Ndidi are grateful for the tourney.

First-Come,First-Served! Seattle Sounders Defender Jnohope Will Not Reject

Seattle Sounders youngster Tobi Jnohope has revealed that he will not reject a call-up to any of the Nigeria youth teams, though he is undecided where his international future lies at the moment.

The teenager was born in Florida 18 years ago to a Caribbean father and a Nigerian mom, meaning he can represent the United States, Nigeria and The Caribbean internationally.

“Right now I have not been called up to the United States, if I was called up to either one I would go. My dad has left the choice to me, ” said Tobi Jnohope, who is a defender, told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“I’m very good with the ball and I’m athletic. I also am really good at winning headers.

“This is my first year with the Sounders and I played for a club in Florida before Sounders.”

The Nigerian-American has stated the reason why he models his game after Bayern Munich versatile defender Jerome Boateng.

“I model my game after Jerome Boateng. He’s composed on the ball, great in the air, and is a presence on the field,” added Jnohope.

Tobi Jnohope will play play collegiate soccer for University of Denver in 2016.

EXCLUSIVE: BAYERN MUNICH JOIN NURA ABDULLAHI CHASE WITH BARCELONA

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have joined Barcelona in the race to sign AS Roma Nigerian teen Nura Abdullahi this summer.

18 year old Nura is on loan to Roma from Serie B side Spezia but Roma have the option of making the deal a permanent one and they are reports they are willing to buy him out rightly.

A minor heart defect slowed his career but he has long returned and has been posting impressive performances for the Primavera side of AS Roma which has further enhanced his ratings.

He caught the eyes of Barcelona during one of the game of the UEFA youth league and a rumoured bid of around €10m was turned down by Roma for his services.

Host of Serie A and Serie B teams wanted Nura to join them on loan during the January transfer window but Roma blocked him from moving away moreso any of such move in January will see them terminating their loan with him before he leaves for another team.

Bayern Munich we gathered were informed of his abilities by a close friend of incoming coach of the Bavarians Carlo Ancelotti who has given the green light for the club to formally launch a bid for the 18 year old.

Nura and his Nigeria compatriot at Roma Sadiq Umar are most likely to be sold by AS Roma as the man who was reportedly pivotal in the signing of the duo Walter Sabbattini is set to depart the club this summer.

DELE-BASHIRU MAKING INROADS AT MANCHESTER CITY

Super Eagles teen sensation Kelechi Iheanacho was in the stands yesterday when Manchester City U-18 defeated Arsenal 2-1 in a game that once again showed the progress made by another Nigerian Tom Dele-Bashiru.

16 year old Dele-Bashiru who was heavily courted by Liverpool,Arsenal and Manchester United as a 14 year old came on for Manchester City with five minutes left to play in the FA Youth Cup clash against Arsenal but got booked straight away.

Dele-Bashiru was shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Madley for simulation when he went down in search of a penalty much to the annoyance of the watching crowd.

However his performances prior to yesterday’s game has marked him out as one for the future as he is fast becoming a mainstay in the U-18’s despite being classified as an U-16 where he still plays from time to time.

A powerhouse of a midfielder, Tom is capable of driving the team forward from midfield due to his direct style of play and has made a real impression during his appearances for the U-18’s.

We cannot ignore the rich abundance of super young talents in Nigeria and start chasing after averagely talented young players in England. What we need do instead is to improve on our youth development system particularly in the area of transition from U17 to U20 to U23.

When have you seen an U17 Coach of Nigeria touring Europe for talents.

'' I got the information that Nigeria will only consider those who were in the country perhaps because of travelling logistics and that is the end of that."... David Alaba.

Former NFF President Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has said that for the country to sustain the successes recorded at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, attention should be paid to the development of the game at the grassroots level.

Lulu, who was the President of the Federation from 2006-2010, said if the game is properly developed at the grassroots level, with emphasis on those in the primary and secondary schools, that the chances of the country winning the senior World cup in the nearest future becomes brighter.

I do not know how I am going to explain it. Our grassroot Football lacks behind in development. A young Nigerian in Europe like Alaba and Dele Alli stand a better chance to succeed than a talented Iheanacho or Victor Osimhen.

So the NFF focuses more on using the U17 to give young Nigerians with little opportunity a chance to grow. We have created one of the best U17 developmental program to help the Iheanacho and Alampasu have a chance of showing their talents to the world.

So you are telling me, you will feel happy if we take away one of the few opportunities of these young boys to promote foreign talents who have better opportunity abroad.

I support Coach Tella and Coach Garba for rejecting Alaba until tomorrow.

It is a brilliant system and it is working. I am waiting for the new gems Coach Manu Garba will unearth when he completes his scouting program.
