Thanks dear...I stopped adding skineal to her Shea butter immediately it all cleared..I only used that mix for 6 weeks thereabout and then I stopped and use only Shea butter or original coconut oil on her skin till date...she is 2+ now and has beautiful chocolate brown skin ...I was never really comfortable with the skin lightening skineal caused but the doc told me to just accept it for a while so her skin could get better @apple19 please take note of what @tjelta just pointed out and apologies for not adding that I used the skineal-shea mixture for a short period till it all cleared up... @apple19 let me also add that to be on the safe side, its not advisable to use skineal or the likes unless specifically prescribed by the doctor for your baby...all the best... tjelta: |

Apple19: Use nothing and it will go away. It's normal for babies to have rashes during d 1st few weeks. My baby had it, I stopped everything, only water and soap and it cleared on its own 4 Likes |

nefertitiram: I couldn't agree more with this. baby skin is very sensitive so we must be extra cautious what we use on it. using nothing and staying as natural as possible is always best. no matter how long it seems to be taking, wait it out. You'll be glad you did. Pele, everyone understands how we worry as mothers. you can read up 'common rashes in newborns' on webmd just for reference purposes. 4 Likes 1 Share |

TheLeakyTribe: Was gonna add that sef. Google it. Solution is always nothing, just water. It's caused by the change of environment from the womb. 1 Like |

@all, if you must use anything for baby's skin breakout in the family of funbact A, skineal and the likes..pls use ONLY tribotan baby even for a short period as it's the safest for that tender skin My 2cents 1 Like |

Hello Everyone. We are expecting our second baby in July, and we are making arrangement for the visa interview. I'd like to ask from experienced momas and daddies in the house: None of our maternal parents will be available for the US trip at this time.I also won't be able to travel at this time due to work. My wife would have to travel in June with our 2 year old daughter. They will stay in a rented apartment throughout duration. Is it possible/advisable for a pregnant mother to travel accompanied? For momas who have done it before, how did you cope? Please kindly share your advise. Gracias |

wellscon: There is no big deal if your wife is a strong fearless character, most of the women here travel alone for expediency reasons, however taking a toddler along needs a little tweaking. 1. A place to put here when she needs to go for her Dr's appt. 2. Help(nanny, minder etc)when the newborn arrives as some 2yr old still insist on being waited on hand & foot, so she doesn't get overwhelmed... She'll be fine, don't worry... |

To God be the Glory, I got to the US on wed POE is atlanta, Information is power. It is good to read and go prepared with proof n with God on your side you will conquer all POE hassles. I used wheel chair, got to atlanta 5.20am, was wheeled to scan passport n snap then to the CBP Me: Gmorning CBP : morning, why are you in the US? Me: To have my baby CBP. : Where in the US Me. : Maryland CBP. : Which hospital in maryland? Me. : Holy Cross Hospital CBP. : where is ur husband? Me. : He is in Nigeria CBP. : How much do you have with you? Me. : I have $300 cash n have $10 k dollars in my sisters account in the US also with my debit card CBP. : Ok, hold on got my passport and I was wheeled to another officer he told me the officer will take care of me Me: I don know that's secondary inspection, my mind was at rest that I am ready for you too, hmmm When we got to the officer he put my passport n daughter' s in a file and gave the person wheeling me then off we go for secondary inspection, he handed over my file to the CBP in charge then was wheeled to a inner room and met some people there too, so waited to be called on, then finally the time came n was called on like 20 minutes after..... here we gooo Me: Good morning CBP : Good Morning, you are here to have your baby Me. : That's right! CBP: How much do you have with you? Me : $300 cash n $10k in my sisters account in the US CBP : Do you have any correspondence withe the DR? Me: yes I do, handed over my correspondence with dr's appointment. He read very well n carefully then nodding his head in satisfaction CBP: Do you have a cell phone? Me: Yes I do n handed over my phone by then I saw my sister's missed call cos I already called I was in atlanta immediately the plane landed he collected my phone and demanded for my sister's number then I showed him I already missed her call CBP: He then dialled her no from his fone but unfortunately my sister didn't pick up so he left a message and continued chatting me up CBP: how did you send money to your sister, told him dollars is very scarce in Nigeria at the moment so what I do is my sister finds out anyone in need of naira in Nigeria n has $ in d US, then I credit the person's account in Nigeria n sister get the $ in her account CBP : Do you have any evidence to that or can you show me the transaction on your fone I said ok and he asked, how long have you been doing that? Me : told him. By then he put another call through to my sister then so she picked up, n exchange words with her n confirmed all I told him, then finally he said I like honest and well prepared people like me then he said congratulations ,stamped me in till sept with my LO then gave me a word of advice not to take medicaid and asked if I could make it to the connecting flight or do I still need assistance so I asked how far the distance is he said he doesn't know so I kuku wait for someone to wheel me so he called them for me. While waiting we got chatting, hmm mm my fellow nairalanders the CBP's actually are reading about all our posts here and knows all we say about them, Na so he asked how did you get to know you can birth in the US, are you on nairaland? See mee oo, I cum dey laugh I said yes he said where did you read, part 1,2 or 3? Shooo! I said I read part 3 he directed me to part 2 that I should read that they talked about one CBP in there that sent a woman back or something that he is actually the one they were talking about Na so gist ooo, so moral of my story be well prepared and say the truth at all times honesty pays..... I appreciate all the info givers on this forum may we all not labour in vain over our adorables.... God bless us all n successful delivery for us ijn. Now chilling in maryland waiting for my first appointment with d Dr. 25 Likes |

wellscon: Let her go alone and leave the toddler if possible, she will be perfectly fine. If she must go with her, den you have to make adequate arrangement on who to look after your daughter when she's in labour/hospital |

wellscon: Congrats. However the answer to your question depends on how resilient your wife is. It going to be VERY VERY VERY tough especially after birth. Plus while shes in d hospital...who would b wt your two year old? Me thinks you both need to think it through. Many moms have dne it and survived but had help of other moms sharing nearby apartments. In d end na ur wife go determine. |

I am due in July as well and traveling with my 2 year old daughter too...I haven't decided on hospital/state yet though...it definitely aint easy being preggy and travelling alone with a toddler but then if no other option, with resilience there is no mountain that is unsurmountable. I dont want to commit myself cos my delivery plans are still vague but if we were going to similar state/hospital, it would have been good to first connect in Naija so a bit of trust is established so we help each other over there in the US. But then my plans are still vague...oh well... wellscon: 1 Like |

Hello michelleano and congrats on your successful poe, pls can you give me the cost break down of the hospital and doctor you are using. I am also coming to Maryland next week though not for birthing now I am a November mum, I am still gathering information about hospitals and doctors and I plan to visit as many as I can when I come before deciding on which to use. Thanks. michelleano: 1 Like |

Dear moms! On PTA search, try Unity Bank. Just open an account with them, fund the account and fill the PTA application form. You will be called when they have. Knowing someone there is an advantage. You can get the PTA within a week of application if you know someone there. They also send Money Gram! |

@justwise Can you give me a reason why you removed my post? Was it an advertisement to you because I am beginning to get confused with this yardstick of yours.. I painstakingly called hospitals, found a cheap one and then posted it here even without putting their number and I expressively wrote it in the post that people should further research them. I am not sure what rule I broke. Anyways, I am not going to do that anymore and it sucks for people who should have benefitted from my calling. I don't even get the usefulness of the forum anymore. Cheers man 6 Likes |

Hello everyone, Abeg I need your advice/opinion. I got my visa almost 2years ago with my husband, our purpose of visit was for vacation in New York. At the time we applied and got the visa we didn't have any relation or family in the US so when asked at the interview if we would be staying with anyone we said no. Later that year my sister and her family got their green card and moved to the US. Now I'll be traveling next week with my mom to visit my sister in Maryland, do I need to inform the embassy that I now have a sister in US and I will be staying with her and I will be going to Maryland and not New York as stated during my interview? I intend to go with my marriage certificate, change of name and birth certificate to prove my relation with my mom. Note: my husband has already used his own visa but he enter thru New York so there was no problem. I just don't want any wahala at the poe. Thanks. |
