I asked a question in the previous tread and would also like to ask again.

My friend went for his appointment yesterday, but was given a TB by the guy checking the documents; He was not allowed for the interview because the barcode on his DS-160 is different from the barcode on his interview appointment letter.

He was told that he will be able to use his receipt after 48hrs but he is not really clear on what to do next.

Does he have to fill another DS-160? please can you explain what he is expected to do.

Secondly, apart from 1-20, SEVIS fee, Admission letter from the school, & Bank statement, is there any other documents that may be required during the interview.

I am a PhD applicant who got a Graduate Teaching Assistantship position with the
department I will be joining for the next fall semester. The position waives tuition and covers all living expenses.
Will I still need to go to the embassy with a bank statement?

I am an MSc student who got a scholarship that covers almost half of the tuition fee.
Will I still need to go to the embassy with a bank statement that covers the whole tuition fee or just the remaining balance of the fees.

Also can i take to the embassy a bank statement belonging to a sponsor different from the one presented to the school to issue the 1-20 (name of sponsor was indicated on 1-20 as the person who will provide funds) due to some changes in circumstance

Bank statements are NOT required for an F1 visa. You are welcome to bring those to the interview, but they will most likely not be requested from the officer.

Hello. Thank you for creating this post. I want to go for my masters this fall. I have two toddlers who would go with me. My husband would remain in Nigeria as he has he's work to do. With that said, what evidence do I need to show that we are financially capable for my kids? In addition, my last child is a US citizen, in requesting for the F2, do I need to put he's name as part of my dependant? Especially since he doesn't need a visa.

Good day, about 10 yrs ago or more, I was denied a student visa for my undergraduate program twice. I decided to do my undergraduate degree here Nigeria. am now tru with it and working with over 5yrs of working experience. I've saved enough money to further my education for Master degree. I've strong family ties (My wife and kids) and good job offer to return to. Please what documents do I need to prove my case and avoid denial. Also I want to know if the number of years I've stayed out of school will be a determinants to my visa application.

Dear VO,

Good afternoon. My elder brother who works in the US invited my dad and I being the last child of the family for the summer holiday, I currently work with my employer for about 2 years now and plan to take my annual leave around July for the purpose of the trip with my dad as he will need assistance during travel due to his age. We went for interview on Monday and the visa officer did not ask my dad a single question, instead he asked me what we were going to do in the US, he also asked me what I do which I told him I work as a Drilling supervisor stating the name of my employer as well, he latter asked if I was married wish I answered NO, he also asked if I have travelled out of the country before which I also answered NO. He then approved my dad and denied me. My concern now is;

After I submitted our application for B1/B2 visa, a school I applied to in the US for my Masters degree granted me admission and I am expecting the admission letter and my form I-20 soon as it has now been couriered. (N.B: this was before we went for the interview but I did not make mention of this new development to the visa officer)

I hope the denial of my B1/B2 visa based on the visa officer's assumption that I might not return won't affect my application for a F-1 student visa.

This is really given me a whole lot of concern as my intentions are genuine and I am going for a Masters degree in the same fied I have my Bachelors degree.
