The reason am asking ( and sorry if it sounds silly) Is that I believe this is a public platform and the identity of alot and not known. Yes I agree friendship cld be form among people but you don't know for sure who the new person is. She/he might just be someone that will be valuable to you sometimes in the future. Guess it's the name calling that beats my imagination. I've never been an advocate for that whether virtual or real friends. And just as ifyalways said, we can either ignore the person or save the energy of the "e-slapping" for something more productive. Just saying though. Okay the way forward...urgently file a report at the SSN office....also put a call through to IRS. Dont ask your host anything about the SSN. Dont even act like you understand what he most likely has done...just quietly go about resolving it. Whatever will happen let it happen but dont allow fear of where you will stay when next you want to birth in the US deter you from taking immediate action

I'm so sorry to butt in like this. But I'm very angered by the way some Nigerians here behave. The amount he will get from claiming your kid as a dependent is less than 2K so what's the rubbish for?
That said, IRS offices are not open all year round and most cities don't even have office. Call the IRS Identity Theft department on 1-800-908-4490 and explain to them that your host handed your son's SSN to you with the envelope opened. They should flag his SSN to prevent anybody from using it and they might also give you a PIN that has to be submitted anytime tax is filled (I'm not entirely sure how it works). Act fast o, tax season is still on on he might even have claimed child credits with the SSN. Don't let him know you're calling the IRS. Keep quiet and if he actually got filed with your Son's SSN he will pay back every penny and his previous taxes might get audited. You need to teach him a lesson

Modath, as for the shekpe Mata, we all know pregnant women don't drink alcohol irrespective of what kind(shekpe or expensive champagn). That issue was brought up here just for comedy relief which I personally laughed about too when I read it. I added it to my first post during the whole drama bcuz pun was intended. I have even counted myself as an 'area' too.

So what makes you think I was even refering to you even as I didn't mention your name. Comon now, you had to call me out here. Do you honestly think we believe anyone who values his or her life would dare take shekpe even with the inscription on it. Plus. I know thier are other uses of 'shekpe' which I don't whish to dwell into now.

It's was all pun pun pun and it's quite unfortunate my mention of shekpe has been lost in translation.
