Agreed, but it takes much more than a year to be near native in any new language o. (edited) Bandeco: |

It's OK. I could go on and on about this but then it would derail the reason why this thread was created in the first place. I like to think it's inappropriate for people to deviate from the point that matters just because they find another option viable. And, I'm beginning to think the word dogmatic is engraved on your computer screen. Heads up for ya, you might want to lessen the number of times you use it on this thread. There is something termed as Semantic satiation. Look it up online. You use a word too often, it starts to lose its meaning to the audience. Think of it as listening to repeated meaningless gibberish. Anyways, keep using it if it makes you happy. thesoj: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Churkie:With 2.2 you can gain masters admission in Germany... Tuition is free, no application fee(accept you are applying through uniassist) , no acceptance fee.. Visa process relatively easy. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by DanIndia(m): 10:10am On Mar 19, 2016 |
You cannot be "near native level" within a year. This is only possible if you've got nothing to be busy with (studies, work etc) and learn it the whole time. Studies in Germany is time consuming and demanding. It's hectic. It's hard for you to study in Germany and want to attend those classes with the hope of grasping it in a year. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE. Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 10:12am On Mar 19, 2016 |
It should be "semantic satiation" not "Semantic satiation". Don't use a capital "S" as the first letter of "semantic", it is NOT a proper noun. In addition, your commentary about my use of "dogmatic" is a lame attempt at sounding intelligent. DanIndia: 5 Likes |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by DanIndia(m): 10:19am On Mar 19, 2016 |
Haha. Apparently, you suck at the English Language than I thought. It's a term. A term starts with the first letter capitalized when it is not used in a sentence. If your lecturer asks you in a text-based conversation; Where are you going ? You don't say home, you say Home. You only say home when you respond with "I'm going home". Notice the first letter of the sentence capitalized. Just do a google search, dude. Go to www.google.com and type in "semantic satiation". Tell me if you need classes. I'm afraid I'll have to refer to you though OK. Make I sleep small, my brother. Nor bite me o, na joke I dey o. ehem. thesoj: 2 Likes |

Diaris god oh! lolz. Make we end this sha. I come to make love not war. No homo. On a less feisty note, you are incorrect. You used semantic satiation in the middle of a sentence (not at the beginning) therefore it should all be in small letters unless it is a proper noun. Anyhow. You can google every use of "semantic satiation" and see where it is used in the middle of a sentence. Cheers. No more fight bro. DanIndia: |

Bandeco: I live and study in Germany. Is tuition free and the good thing is our work is not regulated like Canada where you only work 20 hours per week during sch and full time during holiday but we work full time weda holiday or during sch. You dont need to learn German cos there are lots of English speaking Universities. see the german thread here. join us. https://www.nairaland.com/2098236/general-german-visa-enquiries-part/447 then see here for list of schools to apply for https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/ tuition is totally free so when you work there you send money home rather than using it to pay school fees like Canada case. Make unua no kill unua sef for Canada. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Futurewiser: 11:00am On Mar 19, 2016 |
thesoj: You have said it all. But let me add that is not all schools that require Toefl or Ielts. Two schools I applied to when I was traveling to Germany did not even ask for any of it. Let me also add that if you have a sponsor in Germany or living in Europe to give you an affidavit that he will care for you then the providence of the 8,000 euro account opening thing will be waived. I believe is better to save than to spend on tuition in Canada. |

DanIndia:Sorry to say- you are not well inform about Germany.... Admission is easier in Germany because with 2.2 and a good motivation letter you can get admission for a masters program in Deutschland.... A female friend of mine just got admission to study MSc international business in Berlin with a 2.84 CGPA.. Is this obtainable in Canada?? 1) My friend didn't write IELTS before she gain admission. Most schools has it that if English is ur official language in ur home country, you don't need to document English language proficiency (which Nigeria is) 2) Lolzzz..... This is utter rubbish! You don't need to learn German language to gain admission or be granted study visa when ur program is being taught in English. Some BSc program are taught entirely in English while most MSc programs are tutored in English. GET UR FACTS WRITE 3) No one should be surprised.. How many countries in the world offers free and quality education at all levels to every human being on planet earth. You don't pay application fee sef. Only Norway and Germany offers absolute free education to everyone.... Canada doesn't even offer free education to her own citizens. With a good and passionate SOP, averagely good grades, applying to so many schools as possible. Ur admission is near certainty. 4) Oga German study visa is relatively easier to obtain. With genuine documents. To me the interview system offers one an interactive opportunity to better explain ur intentions. Some people are more articulate in verbal explanation. If ur documents are genuine, you respond well to the questions and fulfill the visa requirements ur visa is certain. Nothing like "home tie in country of residence and Canada" and people get denied because of these.. Smh... Many of my friends tried to no avial to obtain Canadian study visa but as I type a handful of them are in Deutschland now studying and working.. Making madt cash. 5) It is actually €8000(annual living expenses) If you get admission the embassy will open a German block account for you to fund it with the said amount. No hassle to be running helter skelter looking for sponsors.. They said money is still ur cash. You can even borrow it and when u get to Germany u can be remitting back bit by bit.. No need to provide bank statement and all the bla bla sponsors documents. Just open an account. Fund it with €8000 and that's all. Read well Mr. There's nowhere I wrote that, they aren't great engineering schools in Canada.. I didn't even state one is better than the other in engineering discipline. Canadian economy is not as robust, innovative and efficient as the German economy. Germany has a more innovative, diverse, technology savvy, stronger economy than Canada #Fact Canada has been in recession for sometime now where as Germany has been one of the best performing economy in the world for sometime now. #fact I like Canada. Two of my siblings are studying there as I write . It is a beautiful country with world class education system and universities. But Germany provides a viable alternative to Canada 10 Likes 2 Shares |
