angelo82: The funny thing is that u won't see Ucap to buy until it gets to 2.21. A 30% upside from 1.7naira. Then the dividend yield will be 14.25% less withholding tax. I find it necessary to also add that the expected return on equities like Ucap and Afripud is naturally higher when compared to much more liquid stocks. So a dividend yield of 14% now for an illiquid stock might be less preferred to a yield of 12% for a very liquid stock. Lessons for another day. Afripud at a dividend yield of about 12% already lost its steam. Everyone is scared of being trapped after payment of dividend. I expect a bit more upside in the coming days though. Zenith's div yield less WHT as at Friday's 12.79 price is 10.9%. I expect a price appreciation to at least 13.95naira before div payment making it a yield of 10%. GTB might likely hover around is current price of 16 naira until Ex div day. In essence, Ucap's div yield of 18.5% less WHT on Friday's price of 1.7 is solid. I expect a 30% upside here to 2.21 before the bulls ease and little bit more upside before dividend payment. Probably a 2.52 naira price before ex div day, taking the div yield to 12.5%, less WHT. I do not have any UCap unit. My opinion above contains some true factual info but the conclusions are not really based on any extensive research, and should not be used solely for an investment decision. 4 Likes 1 Share |

donmarshia, your last post makes a lot of sense. The issue is that Mr. Market is very unpredictable. In a place where loss making stocks are returning 100% while dividend declaring ones are losing, one can only hope for the best. Anything can happen on Monday. I am loaded with UCAP and I hope for the best. 2 Likes |

CONFESSION: 'Internal and External Round Tripping' (JIJO) is getting rougher and extremely tighter.....and the exit door is getting narrower... ... . The better a company's result is, the riskier a JIJO move its stock presents. Looks like most people are now using the same set of RULES, EQUATIONS and INSTRUCTORS in this game! One may make a kill and if not careful, get it all trapped and destroyed next door..... . 2 Likes |

New members, consider this scenario: you rush into a stock with N375K at N3.5. This stock is to pay 45k div. After buying, the share price comes down to N3.00 on closure date. You attempted to pull out but could not until the MAFIAS (Mercylicious, Born2brich, manonamission, Megainvest, Angelo82, Locodemy, Coolcash etc etc... ) are ALL out. You finally saw the price at N2.89 at which point you can be pardoned to exit.... How much profit will you make considering brokerage fees in your calculations? These scenarios will soon start playing out.. . Make sure you are part of the BULL run and escape the DIVIDEND TRAP..... You must not INSIST to be part of every good story..... . CALCULATED patience can make you good returns and add no sorrow..... . 4 Likes |

This weekend dey sweet oh. . All eyes on transcorp now. The last of Tony interest still left on the table. Be careful sha. Don't expect a juicy dividend as the others. But it's got JIJo potentials. IMO. K |

Technically, its trading sideways now and at accumulation stage. So anticipate investor would want to go in now at its price. Besides , UCAP will be on full bid up till 2.50. K |
