The truth is that, many Rivers indigens depends on govt for their everyday survival. That's why my people will kill, burn houses, even kill their brothers and kinsmen for power. A typical example is our current governor, Nyesom Wike. He has never worked or done any business all his life b4. It us from so called law school to becoming a local govt chairman in 1999. All d wealth and power he has acquired today is through violent politics. Why won't others want to be like him?

You know the State very well, spent over a decade there on the front lines and can attest. Its just difficult to start summarizing the core politics of that state.

If you wanna make it big thru violence, try Rivers state. The cult empire dominates 85% of the state.

My fear is not the present killings but the aftermath of it. Gangs will bang each other.

same happened at Eleme Local government where my mum was posted as e-collation officer, they all had to lie flat to avoid stray bullets
all the ballot boxes where taken away by the gun men, unfortunately 2 corpers were matcheted but thank God for the presence of military men that rushed them to the hospital. join me thank God for the life of mum ooo

You very right. You just getting to know cos PDP is in the opposition now. The worst has happened back then but didnt gain attention.

In 2003, There was outrightly no election in Rivers state and height of killings was at peak.

Shame on those condemning either APC or PDP without expressing disgust at the animalistic behaviour of the people. If Amaechi and Wike must fight to resolve who's the stronger; let them go to Liberation Stadium and fight like Roman gladiators while others watch. It is not about Buhari, Jonathan, Hausa or Yoruba. Is political representation worth so much that you go and buy guns to express your preference for a candidate. Why are we displaying conducts lower than the wild animals and still claim that one part of the country is primitive. What's more primitive than Rivers
