Anyone knows something about Steven's Inst of Tech? They keep sending mails for application fee waiver. However, their acceptance rate was 38% for 2013. I take this to mean they receive excess barrage of applications from willing candidates. Why then would they solicit for applicants! Considering that it's a private inst, how generous are they with funding? In general, how prestigious is the sch? |

lobito007: I was also offered an application fee waiver, but I can't even bear the cost and stress of sending documents right now. They don't give full funding, but you could get as much as 80% of your tuition waived. Why don't you apply to Murray State University or TAMUK, if you still want to commence graduate studies this year? |

imperiouxx: I'm thinking of doing a PhD in chemical biology after masters. Naija pharma industry is coming up and I'd really be excited to work with indigenous firms to develop / test new drugs. There's also this naija Govt pharma R & D institute that I'm eyeing. It looks like they're doing some real work. Do you have any plans on entering the naija pharma space? |

stolid:Thanks bro. TAMUK, I think, does not offer funding for the first semester, and I'm also seeking schools that offer TOEFL waiver. Most of these texas schools seem to insist on it. I'm willing to give murray state a shot though. You mentioned that they automatically grant you a S6,000 scholarship. Does this come as tuition waiver? Do they waive toefl? 1 Like |

lobito007: A decreasing acceptance rate usually leads to increase in rankings. They solicit for applicants to get a more beneficial acceptance rate. Schools like Steven's, RIT, and NYU Tandon usually give only nominal scholarships to MS applicants. Outside the top 50, most schools are usually similar, with closely clustered prestige perception. You should check the profiles of alumni from your department. |

@ alabalobor, Why spamming the thread? 214(b) is always the same. Your interview transcript is what's needed to be able to help you in this case. |
