The potential of Nigeria in agriculture is limitless. We just find it difficult to make that sharp turn to where we were coming from. |

Lol... This is for the gullible.. They want us to be on their side so tomato importation will be stopped, then they'll create a scarcity and we'll have no option that to use dangote's black tomato paste. 1 Like |

aminho:The richers getting richest, the cost of production in Nigeria is so high that only the might can open industry. The government should do something. Even NNPC admitted that is cheaper to production petroleum outside the country. |

AceRoyal:The report was from UNEP, not FG. Dangote's tomato paste factory is just about to kick off and Govt. does not need to kill competition in favour of Dangote, the market is big enough. No be evrything govt. go do. |
Re: Nigeria Spends $1bn To Import Tomato Paste —UNEP by JaaizTech: 9:25am On Mar 21, 2016 |
VocalWalls: We had better start to trying to use our own products, that is the only way for our local industry to grow. Don't expect Dangote to produce tomato paste better than De Rica or Gino, it could take some time for him to accomplish that.. There is also Erisco Tomato paste made in the east. There is a sacrifice we the citizens need to pay too. |

Where are not just ready, was in umuahia to discuss this with the governor but allall they are interested in is federal allocation and how they are going to share it . How muchmuch will it cost all this our looters to bring in cottage industries from China to produce tomato paste, a beg, they prefer to buy guns , cars for their concubines and rent big hotels for years on ending , then when Donald trump says the black man is only good for three things, sex, eating and looting we call him racist . 4 Likes |

JaaizTech: Actually he's right. A lot of people don't know what Dangote does to kill his competitiors' business. He owns the government and buys their decision-making in order to monopolise certain industries, then buys the influence of BOI and other relevant bodies just so that they harass your business and make it hard for you to find investors or produce enough to attract major investors. Just ask people in cement, sugar and salt and fertilizer industries. The day someone breaks Dangote's monopoly, the number of jobs will quadruple in 6 months because all those companies he's frustrating in his quest to become a Oligarch will grow and start hiring. He wants to do the same for tomato processing. There are other companies who are already in it but guess who will dominate them all? It's mostly foreign companies with deep pockets who will be able to fend off his attacks and Nigerians will still be where they are: in perpetual servitude between Dangote and some Westerner group of companies or a Lebanese/Indian family. If you think I'm lying, look at the Pasta market and sugar market, who's producing everything: Dangote and some foreigners. People who know and have had dealings with him, dislike him. His ambitiousness leaves no room for healthy competition. If only we could boycott his products and hurt him as he's hurting the average Nigerian looking for a job. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Cutehector:hehheeheheehheheheehe.. Well, I think we need to stop importing products that we can produce locally. A cessation of tomato paste importation will actually monopolise that market for dangote unless we have other Nigerians stepping up to compete in the tomato market.Hope I made common sense |

JaaizTech: we should promote our own, but not through a dubious means and telling lies. Yesterday there was a thread that dangote sent about 800 nigerians to india, when in reality, they were just about 70 persons. Make products that can compete, and we will come for it. |

So many or almost all things are wrong with Nigeria and almost all Nigerians. Like government like her people, like the pastors like their followers, as the lecturers are so also are the students and so on. And I have not seen any serious plan or determination from either the government or the people to bring any serious change or development to Nigeria. So let the people wake or is it that it is almost all Nigerians that are wicked so that wickedness is blinding us; our eyes and hearts, from seeing and thinking good thoughts and plans and then implementing them to bring good change. |
