So you don't cancel in error and loose your N31,200 MRV fee, rather make them do it for you. The options for Schedulling are

It will ask you some basic question 1st of which is Your Application ID (DS160 confirmation), next is the SECURITY QUESTION (you'll have to provide the answer to the security question you chose when filling the DS160 you want to correct) I.e What city was your 1st job?
and also it would ask for your passport number and .... bang, you in correcting it.

Drawbacks are: when done It would give a new DS160 confirmation number different from the old one.
: You cant change your travel plans information and your family info.

Click on create new application, jot down the new application ID so generated, fill the new form, most parts generally will be auto-populated by what you filled in your previous application. Correct that which needs to be corrected as you move from page to page. Then put that call through when done and equipped as advocated by BenIyoha01 so that the technical team comes to your aid. Either free or paid, best bet is finding something that align with your career or profession. Got my visa with a free training/trade show my office is sponsoring me for.

Yea, it generates a new ID but you aren't filling another form, as soon as you get in to your retrieved application all that you previously filled is there, hence you can just make corrections and save. Then there comes a new ID. really don't know why they made it so!

When you wan renew visa you go then know the importance of that thing, it helps to make your form filling some bit easier. Even, it jogs your memory too

Yeah, it helps out a whole lot. Just a little you will have to add, e.g. travel dates and other changes if any and applicable as at the time you will be filling

That's the old skool method, the ustraveldocs site does not allow anyone to update their profiles themselves anymore... the only easy and fast way out is to call them to update it. The email thingy too works but they often don't reply your mail or it takes a longer time because they need some specific info from you to do the update which includes PASSPORT NO, NEW DS160 CONFIRMATION CODE, MRV N0, DATE OF BIRTH. it could be more or less but it's easily done when you call.

Not a submitted ds160 form but a submitted ds160 number can be replaced in the appointment site by yourself.

The ISSUE IS THIS:
-You have a DS160 FORM you submitted and you want to correct it even though you've submitted it
Well you can change it... from the cgifederal site so you won't have 2 different ds160 when you go for interview.
Is that what we are talking about? YES OR NO?

I have been working here in Dubai for almost 2years now and i just got married December 2015,I have traveled to South Africa, Kenya, Turkey ( twice ), Italy and Spain,all these visas i got from here in Dubai with no stress. I wish to take my wife on a trip to the U.S.A but because she hasn't gotten her residence here,she can't apply from here ( I was also advised by some peeps to apply from home country ) with me so i am planning on coming back to Nigeria to apply there with her. I would like to know if i can use my statement of account here to apply over there in Nigeria because i don't have a salary account there in Nigeria since am working here in Dubai. I also wish to know how long I need to apply prior to our travel dates and how close are the interview dates after putting in your application online.

when you do that... The US embassy will still have your previous info... but by filling another form and re submitting it.. You've erased the previous DS160.
I will like to share it but the embassy will stop us from using it and I feel like we can help people with this small knowledge instead of waiting for the email which can sometimes take up to 12 hours.

Applying from Nigeria is okay but you work in UAE which means most of your tie is there except your wife. I think it makes sense for both of you to apply in UAE if you're working on her residence in UAE or wait till she get her residence and apply together in UAE because 3 of your ties is in that country. That's my opinion

Thanks for your advice. I have heard several stories that most countries wants you to apply from your home country and USA and Canada is the top on the list. I tried applying for Russia sometime ago and i was told to apply from home country.
