I don't really know what VP Osinbajo is saying about GEJ not building any new road, but if you are familiar with Benin-Ore road before now.
We know this roads can take hours of our time to travel on.
But ever since GEJ worked on it. The road is a bliss till today and i can't but keep saying God will bless that man.

Except if the VP meant Creating a New Road Path and not Revamping the already destroyed ones.
Even as at that, what do we need New Road Path for? undecided

I only wish Politics isn't played this way and people get to work more than they talk.

Kongonya:
Falling foreign reserves ‘not Jonathan’s fault’

The nation’s falling foreign reserves is not the fault of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Society for One Nigeria, an Abuja-based group, said on Tuesday.

The group, which rose in defence of Jonathan over the accusation of Olusegun Obasanjo, former president, that the present government had depleted the foreign reserves by $25 billion, argued that the ex-president’s administration was just lucky, as it did not experience a plummeting of oil price leading to its ability to increase the foreign reserves to about $43.17 billion in 2007.

It said instead of constant criticisms, the Jonathan administration should be commended for keeping the foreign reserves at $34.4 billion against the backdrop of falling oil price, oil bunkering and sabotage of oil facilities.

The group also argued that the fall in the nation’s foreign reserves and the depreciation of the naira were both related to exogenous global factors, which are not under the control of anyone.

The group reasoned that while Obasanjo boasted that he left $43.17billion in the reserves, he failed to mention that his ability to do so was simply due to rising oil prices during his tenure.

“As of May 1999 when Obasanjo became president, oil price was $14.74 per barrel. By May 2007 when he left office, oil price was $68.75 per barrel, representing an increase of more than 350 percent,” it said in a statement issued by Abubakar Danladi, its spokesman.

“This increase in oil prices enabled the Obasanjo administration to increase our foreign reserves to about $43.17 billion in 2007. In contrast, President Jonathan assumed office in May 2011 when oil prices were $117.18 with foreign reserves at $32.1 billion.

“Since mid-2014, global oil prices have been falling precipitously from a peak of $116 per barrel in January 2014 to about $58 per barrel in January 2015. Despite this significant fall in global prices coupled with rising incidence of oil bunkering and sabotage of oil facilities, the country has managed to maintain $34.4 billion in foreign reserves, a level that is higher than the $32.1 billion which President Jonathan met when he assumed office.”

The organisation further argued that Nigeria was undergoing significant pressures from spillovers resulting from three factors that no single country has control over.

It listed the factors as end of quantitative easing by the United States Federal Reserve, which implied that the monthly injection of about $85 billion into the global economy suddenly ended; the sustained fall in oil prices from a peak of $116 per barrel in January 2014 to about $58 per barrel in January 2015; and subsisting sanctions against Russia for its alleged role in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

It argued that given Nigeria’s interconnectedness with the global economy and its dependence on crude oil proceeds, the economy had been affected like other economies.

The civil society group listed some emerging market countries that had experienced a drop in their foreign reserves as a result of the drop in global oil price to include Chile, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Hungary, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco and Russia.

It added that while some countries like Russia had depleted their reserves by nearly $75 billion in 2014, Nigeria lost only $9.2 billion in reserves from the reduction in the price of crude oil.

It concluded that although the average depreciation in exchange rate for the countries under consideration was about 11 percent, Nigeria’s exchange rate depreciated by eight percent.

You guys are simply ridiculous. If something good happens under the PMB administration, you claim it is GEJ's glory. If something bad happens, it is Buhari's fault. i'm sure if Buhari considers the useless Confab report, you will say it is for GEJ. Thankfully, he is not giving it any serious thought, now you guys are whining that government should be continum. We all know how useless and spineless the courts and agencies were against corruption under GEJ. He was the fellow who gave massive pardon to looters and threw corrupt cases of PDP cronies out of court.
Your hypocrisy says it all, if something goes against you in court like some of the election tribunal cases, you say PMB influenced it or in this case, GEJ started it. Keep decieving yourself instead of praying and working for the progress of Nigeria. Maybe GEJ is the first person to lose election in life.

I understand that Daura is a haven, just like Dubai, since Buhari their son has been in government for over 40 years.
I even understand that many Nigerians go there for their weddings etc instead of going to Dubai because tap water, good roads, electricity, hospitals, schools are there aplenty.

You do not have to be rude or insulting to discuss or sound intelligent. Buhari has a house where he stays when he visits his hometown. There is no crime in anyone building house legally in any part of the world.

According to you, GEJ said that "if you become a rich person and everyone around you is poor, you are very poor." That aptly applies to him, seeing his estate in Otueke and the community that cannot afford potable water. Daura is a popular and fairly developed town. It is an emirate and most hausas consider it as their spiritual home(an haven of some sort).

YouthsPC0:

As General Mohammadu Buhari commissions the Abuja - Kaduna high speed rail project it has become imperative set the records straight not just for history and for humanity sake but most importantly to prevent the attempt by drunk and misguided paid lairs to steal from a man with vision and give the stolen property to a clueless man without direction.

Many have claimed that the Abuja -Kaduna high speed was Initially conceived by Obasanjo the claim is false .
The truth is that under Obasanjo, a consortium submitted a for a RAIL (std guage) project which included the Kaduna- Abuja rail line unfortunately despite initial high interest shown by Obasanjo, the Owu chief dumped the project in pursuit of his third term agenda which unfortunately hit the rocks thanks to Atiku ,Ken Nnamani and Ghali Umar Na'Abba.

When the same idea was submitted to Yardua/Jonathan they accepted it, Although Yardua later died Jonathan pursued it with vigor and commenced its construction and pursued it to conclusion.

Simon Kolawole former editor of Thisday and now publisher of Cable expressly confirms the fact that President Jonathan was the initiator of the project.

Even Buhari state House website still has the records .

http://www.statehouse.gov.ng/index.php/government/78-featured/108-railway

Obasanjo had nothing to do with it!, people confuse the Abuja light rail project(intra city)whose ground breaking was performed by Obasanjo with the Abuja-Kaduna rail project .

It is imperative to note that apart of the grass clearing (tagged official ground breaking in 2007) for the intracity project Obasanjo never did anything to actualise the dream. the intracity project was originally linked to the Abuja's bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014 which never happened!

See source

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abuja_Light_Rail

GEJ also ensured that the Abuja-Kaduna high speed rail project did not suffer like most government projects, hence when budget provisions could not meet up with counterpart funding levels SURE-P a creation of Jonathan from subsidy Savings came to the rescue

Tinubus Nation newspaper corroborates this :

http://thenationonlineng.net/sure-p-sure-of-abuja-kaduna-railway-date/

Despites starting the project from scratch ,In just 3 years(2014) Jonathan had achieved 70% completion

http://allafrica.com/stories/201312091891.html

The only project that received more attention under Jonathan apart from the Federal University/ Almajiri school project & Rice Farming was this high speed rail. project.

Unfortunately APC chieftains who are shamelessly taking selfies with the project were the ones who claimed the coaches were locomotives.

1. Amaechi Buharis Campaign Director General and current minister of transport:

Hear Amaechi in His own words:

“In fact, I think we have a problem; most people don’t believe that the railway transport is functioning in Nigeria. I didn’t even know, until I started this tour, I never knew that the railway was functioning, it was even from his (MD’s) speech that I learnt that there are some coaches or services that go to Kano or Port Harcourt or elsewhere.

http://dailypost.ng/2015/12/16/i-never-knew-railway-transport-still-existed-in-nigeria-amaechi/

Tolu Ogunlesi : Buharis aide on new media

Stated that the Abuja - Kaduna rail project did not exist , he even went as far as posting pictures of a open field where he claimed a taxi driver took him to to buttress his lies!
Today the young man is tweeting pictures all over the place showing Buhari commissioning a project he earlier claimed did not exist !

His handle : www.twitter.com/toluogunlesi

APC as a party claimed the transformation of the rail sector only existed in the imagination of the former president today they are taking selfies inside another mans idea

APC Campaign Faults Jonathan’s Achievement On Railway, Says ‘Transformation’ Claim Fraudulent, Product Of Over-Active Imagination

http://www.informationng.com/2015/02/apc-campaign-faults-jonathans-achievement-on-railway-says-transformation-claim-fraudulent-product-of-over-active-imagination.html

Winners:

1. Nigerians : we now have a world class rail system we can all be proud of

2. Former President Jonathan : his vision of a world class rail transport is gradually being fulfilled, and for finally giving general Buhari one thing to commission in his second year In Office

3. General Buhari : for not allowing the Demon's that made him cancel the Lagos Metro rail project in 1983 prevail this time

They said PDP destroyed Nigeria I agree with them because this rail project is part of the "destruction".

Supervising painting takes effort so if Amaechi decides to take glory for that no problems even the devil can't take that away from the Buhari administration but that was all they did supervised the paintings.
but instead of taking glory for their Sidon watch painting expedition they used the occasion to insult the Man that conceived and built the structure what a world ?

We hope that there will be something done and something to complete when. General Buhari complete his 4 year tenure as President.

May God continue to Bless Nigeria!!!!

Nigeria Halts China Railway Firm In Its Tracks
NOV 4, 2008

China's top railway builder has encountered a glitch in a lucrative project in Nigeria, jeopardizing a large portion of the firm's future profits and prompting analysts to wonder if a closer look at the risks of its aggressive African investment strategy is in order.

The Nigerian government has temporarily suspended China Railway Construction's $8.3 billion rail project linking Nigeria's north and south. The news sent China Railway Construction shares plunging 18.5%, to 7.99 Hong Kong dollars ($1.03), in Hong Kong, the steepest drop since its initial public offering in March.

Nigeria's Transportation Ministry wants to renegotiate contract terms for the rail link, set to span 1,315 kilometers (817.1 miles) between coastal Lagos and the northern city of Kano, China Railway Construction revealed in a statement filed to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange late Monday night. The government's action deals a big blow to the infrastructure firm, as the rail project represents fully 13.9% of the total value of all its contracts as of Sept. 30, according to the statement.

The Nigerian government's motives are likely both political and financial in nature, analysts say. A turnover of leaders has put major foreign contracts in the country under review and in limbo. Meanwhile, the drastic fall in oil prices has squeezed Nigeria's budget, limiting its ability to finance major infrastructure projects. The 17-month-old administration of President Umaru Yar'Adua has expressed skepticism about the terms for infrastructure and oil contracts negotiated by its predecessor and has called the 2006 contract with China Railway Construction "over inflated."
