In a nutshell, these guys are surely in the running for the Rio 2016 Olympics:

-Emmanuel Daniel: Super Excellent. Did everything right. A 10/10 performance. Our Goalie dept is super strong with Alampasu as back-up. He's a sure mention in the team's final squad for Rio 2016.

-Musa Mohammed: Very assertive as usual. He's a real defesive robocop. Bagged a yellow, was a bit rash on few occasions but his quality is high. Quite high.

-Sadiq Popoola: The revelation of the match. Not many know this guy but he bossed the midfield today. What a player. He's based in Belgium. I'll recall his club in time.

-Imoh Ezekiel: This guy plays without fear. He skinned that brazillian right fullback. Was daring, very daring. Looks like another sure bet for the Olympics.... Time will tell.

-Victor Osimhen: Impressed despite coming in as a Sub. Good ball control, fine technique and excellent on the run.

.......................................................................................

The others:
-Ubong Ekpai: scorer of the goal. Did his bits but didn't do much more after that.

-Taiwo Awoniyi: Did good but will have to step up higher because the competition is gonna be stiffer with the likes of Aminu Umar, Isaac Success and Aaron Samuel coming in for the later stages of the preparations. Don't forget Chisom Chikatara also. Na wa ooo.... See competition!!!

-Junior Ajayi: Also came in as sub. Put in a near decent shift but didn't do anything spectacular. Even missed a one-on-one. Unless he "magically" steps up to "Ighalo levels", or even if na "Chikatara levels", I don't see him making the final Olympics squad.

-Stanley Dimgba: had a fairly average game. Still an option on the wings.

-Nathan Oduwa: Came in as sub, didn't have much time to really impress but he's a decent talent.

-Ovbokha Agboyi: Did his bits in defence. Not particularly impressive but just did enough.

-Segun Oduduwa: Tried his best in defence. Not a spectacular performance but contributed a clean sheet. Though most of the credits go to Daniel in goal and Musa as Rightback. Still stands a chance of an olympic appearance.

-NDIFREKE EFFIONG: There's a reason I highlighted his name in bold. What a poor performance. We were kinda favored not to have conceeded in this game... They skinned Effiong times without number. I need not say more.... Effiong!!! You're fired!!!! #smiles

-Saturday Kiego: did his bits in midfield on the sides. A fairly average performance.

-Chizoba Amaefule: came in as a sub. Did his bits in defence as the game winded down. He's still an option in central defence.

Did I leave out anyone? #smiles.

Ndifreke Effiong played left-back at the last U-23 Afcon and was average at best.

He's a defender and he's not up to par today.

Lol thesupernerd you are quoting Transfermarkt , for a player who just had his breakthrough NPFL Season last year.
Have you ever watched him play for Abia Warriors?
Google the key words 'Ndifreke Effiong Abia warriors' and see for your self.
SiaOne has been playing him out of position ever since ....
Ndifreke is One of NPFL's biggest attacking prospects. Himself and Chikatara were wrecking havoc on defences last season and haven't stopped.

Let us ask the NPFL ogas on this forum fot more clarification.

The site also records his other positions as left-midfield/left wing.

I was also a little surprised when Siasia listed him as a defender when he first called him up. I know he was listed as a forward/left winger by his club.

Young players evolve with time and their central positions are determined.

Siasia used him as a defender in some qualifying matches before the AAG and the U-23 AFCON and he did enough to show he could make the position his.

If he didn't feature as a left winger or left midfielder in Siasia's team at the U-23 Afcon it's because there was a Stanley Dimgba far ahead of him in that role.

So he's an attacking prospect turned defender.

Siasia should let Amao handle the U23. I think Siasia is Super Eagles coach. He is the best we have going forward.

He can handle both teams. Jo Bonfere was super eagles and under 23 coach in 1996. It will ease the transition of outstanding talents to the super eagles.

About Sodiq Popoola..

21 years
Has both french and Nigerian nationalities
Played for Metz youth team, was not retained
Now plays in the Belgian second division for Seraing United.

Played 20 games this season, scored 4 goals.

Belgium is always a good place to grow without pressure. The only disadvantage is his height but he is a baller.

BRAZIL U23 0-1 NIGERIA U23: EKPAI
FIRES DREAM TEAM VI TO VICTORY
By Shina Oludare
Fatai Amoo's boys confirmed their supremacy
over the South Americans by silencing them at
their backyard in an international friendly
encounter
Nigeria U23 defeated hosts Brazil 1-0 in an
international friendly played at the Estádio
Kléber Andrade on Friday morning.
Ubong Ekpai's third minute strike was all the
Dream Team VI needed to subdue Rogerio
Micale's wasteful lads in the keenly contested
affair in Cariacica, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
The much talked about encounter described as
a repeat of the Atlanta 1996 Olympics football
event began on a positive note for the African
U23 champions after taking the lead as early
as the third minute after Akwa United's Ekpai
tucked home a rebound.
Gabigol , Alisson and Felipe Anderson had at
least two chances to win the game for Seleção
Brasileira but consistent misses denied them
victory plus excellent goalkeeping from
Nigeria's Emmanuel Daniel.
With coach Micale's introduction of Clayton,
Doria , Luciano and Malcom , the Dream Team
VI backline was placed under constant check -
but the hosts failed to convert begging
chances.
Brazil will continue their preparations for the
Rio Olympics when they face South Africa U23
in another friendly on Sunday.

Siasia can coach both teams comfortably.

The Rio Olympics begin and end in August, the Super Eagles last AFCON qualifier is in September. Between next week and August, there will be no competitive games for the SE; and the assistant coaches can take charge of any friendlies organized for the SE during that period.

Moreover, after the Olympics, there will be no need for a full-time U-23 coach till after the 2018 world cup when the qualification series for the 2019 AAG begin.

It was nice to me because it proves my point that when a player is good enough, he is old enough. Demichelis has lost his pace and we had a young Adarabioyo who put in a good performance against Chelsea. It was Demichelis who let that young team down against Chelsea, along with Zabaleta.

We also had a promising Iheanacho on the bench and our strikers could not score. I wondered what flashed through Pellegrini's mind when Rashford ran past Demichelis repeatedly.

Props to the young man, Rashford. He is growing in confidence.

"No doubt, our goalkeeper (Emmanuel Daniel) kept us in the game with a number of great saves before he was substituted. Even the substitute (Yusuf Mohammed) also did his bit. All in all, some players like Ezekiel Imoh and Sodiq Popoola were outstanding and I am happy for the team," remarked Amoo.

"The boys did a great job if you recall that 80 percent of the boys we brought here were just meeting one another for the first time, and we needed to see all of them in match situation.

“I’m happy we have seen them and this is hoping that as we play more friendlies, we would discover more players that will compete for jerseys before the Olympics proper.”

Amoo admitted that his boys struggled to contain the hosts in the first half as they launched their attack from the left wing, but the team was able to redress that in the second half.

"The first half was very difficult for us, but then it is expected, having in mind that we scored an early goal and as such it was expected they would come all out against us to get the equalizer, but I must give my boys a lot of credit for holding their own,” he said.

Am I the only one thinking, Awoniyi might miss the Olympics if he does not improve?

Osimhen was far more dangerous than him.

When we bring in Iheanacho and Success, Awoniyi's position will start getting shaky.
