Amuzie is good and i prefer him to echiejile

Reasons being...?
Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:27pm On Mar 25, 2016
In my predicted starting 11, I "wholeheartedly" picked Echiejile to start.

Seeing Amuzie's name left me somewhat shocked.

I'll go with Echiejile every time over Amuzie but let's be truthful..... Amuzie had a good first half. He also had some good moments in the second half but faded as Salah grew into the game.

You sound like Amuzie was nonsense today. That's not being truthful.

But I wanna see Echiejile back in that role for the alexandria game.

chrisooblog:
I'm seriously gutted by the last minute equalizer but no use crying unto the return match. Onazi is back he should be warned to stay disciplined and shield the defense. Supernerd with due respect amuzie was out of his depth elderson to surely start. Ighalo to drop to the bench Musa to play as a false 9 iwobi to start also etebo Simon to retain their starting place

Come on guys. Salah is one of the best wing attackers in the game today. He is someone who has clips with similar mazy run goals to Messi.

It seems you guys did not know what we were up against with Salah coming in from right. You will be mistaken if you expected a left back of ours to give Salah a quiet game. It does not happen in Europe against top backs.

Amuzie was a nuisance and stopped Salah from having a free day. Anything more than that is almost impossible and expecting more from Echiejile is far from the truth.
I'm surprised coming online to read people's comment on amuzie. For me he was very disciplined. I had my eyes out for Salah but at a point had to forget he was even in the game. maybe the goal salah scored ruined an otherwise good night for amuzie - as it did for every other player. Amuzie, otherwise had a good game.

Don't get me wrong the boy has natural ability but from the game he was poor most of the probing attacking forays of the Egyptians was through his wing plus his overlaps tended to leave us exposed he's good for the Olympics but still needs a lot of improving

How can I not get you "wrong" when you just used "poor" to describe him now?

This was his senior debut and yes he has a lot to improve on but come on..... He was poor?? This is not true from the game I watched.

He had his struggles against Salah but kept him quiet for the most part. How then was he poor?

If left to TheGoodJoe I know he would prefer a defense line dat includes Ehizibue, Awaziem and Amuzie. grin

What is the use of all the experience if it leads to Ambrose being one of the most reckless center backs in the history of the game? A young Boyata from Manchester City reserves keeps the experienced Ambrose on the bench.

Let Ambrose got to Porto and let us see if he will see shirt over Awaziem.

Am a bit surprised by your assertion the echiejele I know strictly stays in defense barely overlaps Salah might trouble him but you can be damn sure he won't be caught out of position. I have watched him play in the lb role over the years and I haven't seen many instances of him being to blame for any goals we conceded

You did not watch well. Why do you think Coach Keshi dropped Echiejile for Oshaniwa during the AFCON qualifiers? He was a liability.

U talk of Salah as if he is on same level as Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar. Salah dat couldnt get a starting place at Chelsea.

Echiejile's level of experience counts for much.
U saw how d partnership of Ambrose and Obaobona faired today.Experience counts a lot in d defense.

We can not judge Salah with Mourinho's Chelsea when Lukaku, De Bruyne and Mata lost their place.

“For now, we have benefited. We knew the superb characteristics of the player, but we did not expect him to have such an impact on Italian football.”

“Perhaps only Messi is faster than him with the ball at one’s feet.”

-Vincenzo Montella

I repeat. Salah is up there with the best when it comes to attacking from the right.

I will take Awaziem over Ambrose if he will play close to what he played today. That was atrocious and no form of discipline in Ambrose game. A so called experience defender.

I doubt for one second Awaziem can put up such a horror show.

Na na. Nt with what he played at d UCL second rnd tie against Real Madrid.

I can only agree that Amuzie is young and dat he would get better with time. I can also agree he put up a good performance for a debutant left back. And nt to b glorifying Sallah as if he is Messi or Ronaldo.

And as chrisooblog rightly said, we need to see him in d olympics. He has Kingsley Madu to contend with though. Kingdley Madu i believe would have even done better today.

Keshi picked oshaniwa because apart from his brilliant overlapping forays he was more solid defensively unlike before. Any coach who drops Echiejile is not because of his defending but rather his lack of support for the attack. Was it not the same Echiejile in defense when we won afcon?

In that second tie, Salah was a beast.

Each time Mohamed Salah ran at the Real Madrid defence on Tuesday night, I had heart palpitations.

The Roma forward was a menace to the left side of the Real Madrid defence, constantly making a mug of the vastly experienced left-back Marcelo and centre-back Sergio Romero... Nurudeen Abalola.

The first leg is over and it's in the past now, please let us not make it our burden..

We should be asking ourselves how we are going to proffer solution or contribute positively to the team with criticism (it does not connote negativity)..

What should Siasia do right??

His tactical approach??

Which players should prosecute the match?? Etc

I am optimistic that we can get a win if we get our acts right..

There are no mistakes in life but lessons..

We should learn from our lessons and get a win next Tuesday..

Just like I told you before. There are things I do not need to watch a full game to judge on. Before Nacho's games at City, you argued that he will not meet our expectations. I told you I Trust Pellegrini's judgment and it did not fail. You now agree he is a good player.

I have made my statement repeatedly. If he is good enough for Porto, he is good enough for the Super Eagles.

So, I do not need to watch a full Awaziem game to trust in his ability. Just as I did not need to wait for Iheanacho to perform for City before judging him.

Unless you believe a player benching for Boyata at Celtics is better than a player doing well at FC Porto.

I feel it is Coach Siasia's way of boosting his players confidence. He wants the players to feel better than the Egyptians. Although, I feel that is what cost us today.

Simply put, u have nt really watched Awaziem play. So dnt say u doubt for a second if he would make d kind of mistakes Ambrose made today. I have always told u it is easier to try a new player in d more forward positions even at LB/RB than at CB especially for a crutial game like this. Even if Awaziem was in camp, i would pick Ambrose to pair with Obaobona. I am sure Siasia would do same.

Do you have any assurance that Echiejile will cope better against Salah? Do you think Coach Siasia did not have the intention of Echiejile in this game.

Think of what happened in training before he opted to drop Echiejile. I can bet V. Moses used him to make more name than Maradona in training.

I watch three a lot. It is a crucial role. I do not see Echiejile causing Salah any problems.

Remember, Coach Siasia kept his Wing backs deep and did not require too much attacking runs which Echiejile offers.

I was scared of Echiejile starting and I think we dodged a bullet not playing him.
Abeg is salah the new messi ni abi neymar? The same echiejile that played 90mins against psg last weekend for monaco, monaco defeated psg 0-2 away. He played player like Dimaria, cavani, Ibra. Temme shey ur salah better pass dimaria ni.

Echiejile was only on the bench becos he came late to camp not becos awaziem is better than him. We must start Echiejile when we meet Egypt at Alexandria. The same echiejile that coped well against dimaria will cope well against ur "super almighty" Salah.

As we look ahead for the return leg on Tuesday, How do we go about it..

I watched the game with my father and siblings this evening and my dad was like,is this the available best legs we have in defense ??..

As I type this, in my hood guys are arguing hotly about the game and trust me, the blame game..

No mind me joor, I was referring to them and not my able sports panelists on this thread..

I have lost count how many times I have refreshed the sport section this evening..

In my life of watching football, I have never seen such recklessness made by a centre back. Being honest, I thought he was high on something.

Did you see Ambrose run with the ball straight into the midfield of the Egyptians and lost possession. This is not a defender running into space, but into a packed midfield.

I have not seen such recklessness from a central defender in my life, so I do not know how you expect such recklessness from Awaziem.

When did Salah become my own. I'm I an Egyptian or is Salah playing for the club I support? I just pointed out that the guy is very good. We are underrating Amuzie's performance. Salah skinned the likes of Marcelo and Ramos even more than what he played against Amuzie.

I did not hear of Echiejile not meeting the deadline. If he met Coach Siasia's deadline for every player to arrive camp, your late arrival point does not count.

If that is the case, why did Coach Siasia drop Moses for Iheanacho? If it is lateness that put Amuzie on the pitch today.
