What is the deference between laptop (system) and phone like IPard phones, Tablet phones, smartphone phone, window phone, Android phones.
Y am asking this question is that, I need phone that can be installed software on it like Nero, 7-zip, and it will opened as if am using laptop.

Can connected Hard disk with phone

can I used USB DVD RW BURNER with phone.

Before I decided

Just go and buy Microsoft Surface Pro smiley

OR

Buy Tecno Winpad 10 like I did. It's 10" tablet. Runs on Windows 8.1/10. Can perform all those functions listed above.

Finally, after so much troubles and failures, I was able to upgrade to Win10. Download failed 4 times, when it got to 88%, 77%, 45% and 63%. Over 3gb of internet data was wasted due to these interruptions. I googled the error code that explains the download failures and it says "server failure or poor internet connection". But I had d best 3G connection! I decided to remove the sim and mem card and retry the download. Bam! I had a smooth and fast download. But I also switched network provider tho. I didn't even perform a reset! Win 10 is damn sophisticated. I will never go back to win 8.1. It works just likes win10 pc! Its fascinating!

Sure did, but the upgrade advisor is telling me that my phone is eligible and that they're still working with my phone manufacturer and network provider undecided

I still think it's more of a UI overhaul, and the fact that new apps won't work for 8.1.

Very few new features reported.

Finally got around to the upgrade. 40mins gone now. The wheels are spinning.

Thanks for all the tips guys.
Darlingnuel I tried removing the sim card like you suggested and the update stopped crashing. So thanks everyone.

Will let you know what I think of Win10 later smiley

Hello. I just found and subscribed to this thread.

I'm a longtime Nokia fan. That's why I started using WP in 2013 (after using Symbian, Maemo, Meego). I own the Lumia 920 and 930 (both running WP 8.1)

I've been waiting for WM10 and quitely monitoring news about it. I wanted to upgrade my 930. For personal reasons, I decided not to join the Insider program (although I joined that for WIn10 for PC).

After reading several articles on AllAboutWindowsPhone (eg http://allaboutwindowsphone.com/features/item/21340_Of_versions_and_branches-the_e.php ) and the last few pages on this thread, I'm not sure I'll upgrate to WM10 anymore. I love HERE maps, and hate that WM10 wont support it anymore. WM10 has had several issues over the past months and I don't think it's worth the upgrade. It's also a shame, and it's safe to say, that many x20 Lumias will not get WP10.

I'll keep using my 930 on WP8.1. Maybe in a few months, when Microsoft polishes WM10 and makes it worthwhile, then I'll upgrade.

I use a 930 and just got it upgraded and there are so many upsides to win10 that I can see right away. I also had my reservations concerning the upgrade, but less than 24hrs after it's been done, I have no regrets yet.
Still, my 620 still runs win 8.1 so I have a backup in case this becomes annoying later.

So far the camera functionality is still great. No visible changes I can see.
We did lose the Games hub though, but i think that was replaced by Xbox instead.
Grove is now the official music player. It looks better, acts better. I had all my music after the upgrade, but lost the playlists i created. that's sad. But easily replicated from my 620.
The emails are fully integrated into the outlook account now, so it looks a lot like you would have on the droids. And God it looks good kiss
More options in the action centre.
Inbuilt voice recorder and flashlight.
I've been more of a Maps patronizer from 8.1 denim than Here Maps, but i think if you have the offline map downloaded you can still run it.
Office Suite looks better too and come as individual apps, not integrated into one app.
Skype and messaging are also integrated.
Battery life didn't give any noticeable change.
Edge. You should experience the beauty of the edge browser kiss

That's all I've seen for now. The only downsides so far was that one time my screen blanked out (black) when i tried swiping back to my start screen. Pressing the power button off and then on again fixed it. And it also looks like the soft reset pattern may have changed too.
Update took approximately one hour.

I'm yet to explore what options the store has for now, but I'll keep you posted on any developments.

And welcome to our thread smiley

Before upgrading, you did a RESET. Did it wipe HERE MAps and your downloaded maps? Is it still in your 930 now? Remember that the HERE apps will be removed from the Win10 store today.

Please check if the the inbuilt voice recorder be used to record phone calls.

Also, any idea of how much data was consumed downloading the upgrade?

No, I didn't have to reset my phone before or after the upgrade. All I did was remove my sim card, turn off battery saver and connect to a better wifi. So yeah, Here map and all my other 8.1 apps still exist. Those with upgrades prompt you to upgrade, otherwise it's all fine.

I really can't say how much data I used since I was hijacking my bros internet grin
It kinda wiped off my data sense info after the upgrade coz when I checked all I saw was about 40+Mb.

And no it doesn't allow you record calls.
I'm actually expecting a Lumia update from MS to fix some minor but no less annoying glitches in this OS.

removing a nano Sim card is a bit stressful, can an airplane mode do the job? Cos I really need to upgrade my big Sisters 1520, my mums 540 and my kid sis 532.. Thanks in advance.
I don't know if that will suffice. I only tried the sim removal because it worked for someone here.

@ UjSizzle Did you check if you have another available update after effecting the initial upgrade? Goto PHONE UPDATE in settings, hit d button and confirm whether or not you have another major update. Very important! I performed two major updates.

YoungPo413 I came up with the idea of removing Sim card prior to starting the upgrade because I experienced 4 failed attempts. Try updating first without Sim removal. You might then remove Sim if that fails.

Lots of apps are phasing out with this new OS: Lumia camera has been replaced with Windows camera. Howbeit, you can't tell me that a product of a 10-year long experiment WOULDN'T be better than an old, already existing product? Windows 10 Mobile is dope! Windows 8.1 became crappy after I experienced Win 10.
