3. CULTURAL SETTINGS OF OUR PRESENT STATES OF RESIDENCE WITH RESPECT TO THE PREDOMINANT SOURCE OF INCOME, RECREATIONAL AVENUE AVAILABLE SUCH AS PARKS, TOURIST SITES, etc

LogoDWhiz:
Okay. Here it goes.

Ekiti is one of the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It was created on the ..... Bla bla bla

To the main gist!

Ekiti State seem not to have much job opportunities compared to other SW states, but it has it's own advantages.
If you are one who has love for teaching, then Ekiti State is right for you.
There are lots of schools here, Private and Public where you can teach.
Corpers are mainly posted to schools, then Ministries.

Ekiti state pays Corpers #5k. But from what I could gather it's paid at the end of the service year.

With a low cost of living, Ekiti State offers you the chance to manage and save your stipends.

Ado Ekiti is the capital of Ekiti State. And in as much as it is the best LGA to serve, the cost of living there is high compared to other LGAs.

Ikere , Ilawe, Ido, Ido, Ifaki, Ikole, Efon like that in descending order are the communities you can stay and you'll enjoy yourself.

Basically, I'll advice that if we don't want to stay in the capital, choose(if opportuned) a community that's close to the state capital.

Also, among the disadvantages is the issue of social and night life.
Although, things have being changing for better. The night life is not really bubbling. People tend to close in.
But areas like Fajuyi Park will have night life bubbling.
So if you're the social type, Ekiti can still be fun for you.

Ekiti also connects to a lot of states, such as Kwara, Kogi, Osun, Ondo, Oyo.

On the issue of security, I think Ekiti State is safe.
You can be rest assured that there is minimal risk to your life as long as you obey and observe basic security tips.

I guess this is where I draw the curtain on this special production.

If you have any question, holla at your boy!

Even if you have hundreds of Acount, NYSC will require you to own another account designated for your NYSC transaction. It'll be up to you to make a transfer if you so dear.

NYSC will create the Account for you when its time.

Sure it does.

20 THINGS WE NEED TO KNOW AND/OR DO AS GRADUATES or BEFORE SERVICE ELAPSES

1. Discover Yourself and your Gifts!
Socrates the great Philosopher once said "Man Know Thyself" because he realized that the first and most important thing in life to discover yourself - to know your unique contributions to life. Many people just exist. They go along with the waves and current and anything that looks cool or trending. Their presence or absence in any place or gathering makes no difference because they are the "ME TOO" kind of people.

Unless a man discovers himself and know his gifting, he'll continue to operate in the lowest echelons of life (lightly esteemed and lowly look down upon).

2. Know how to Turn your Gifting into Financial Rewards
Discovering your gifts is one thing. Getting rewards for them is another. People don't pay you to do for them what they can do for themselves. THEY ONLY PAY YOU TO HELP THEM SOLVE PROBLEMS.

Until you are able to turn your gifts and talents into the solutions to people's problem(s), don't expect to get paid (unless from relatives and close associates)

3. Sell you Value Proposition
You can be as intelligent as Albert Einstein or as Innovative and Creative as Steve Jobs, but if no one knows you have those abilities, you will just live to be an INTELLIGENT-BROKE-ASS. Don't waste your time hanging around those critiques who see nothing other than reasons why those your products and services (skills, talent, abilities, etc.) won't work. Take them to people and places where there are appreciated and needed. Build and leverage on HUMAN NETWORKS as much as possible. (...to be continued)

4. Know the Difference between Assert and Liability
A lot of people still work with the assumptions that their PERSONAL houses, cars, electronics, gadgets, clothings, et al are ASSERTS. This is one misconception that slavery has ingrained in us from time immemorial. Robert Kiyosaki in his book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" explained: "An ASSERT is something that brings money into your pocket on its own while a LIABILITY is something that takes money out."

"WEALTHY MEN" spend their money and so do "POOR MEN." While it is what the wealthy men spend on that makes them richer, it is also what the poor men spend on that makes them poorer. THE DIFFERENCE LIES IN UNDERSTAND WHAT IS AN ASSERT OR LIABILITY TO YOU.

5. Read (and own) atleast 30 books before you are 30
The saying goes that two things determines where you will be in the next 3 - 10 years: The people you associate with and The Books you read. Someone else said that when you find a man of uncommon intelligence, ask him what kind of books he reads. The Whites jeer us by saying "if you want to hide something from the blacks, put it in a book."

There are so much I have to say in this respect but note, the more you are diversified in your knowledge (know a lot within and outside your area of specialization), the better your chances of success in any industry. It is said that it is what you don't know that kills you.

THIS IN MY OPINION, IS ONE OF THE KEY FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MASS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE AMONG GRADUATES. This is because we are SO MUCH reliant on our schooling systems, when these systems DO NOT teach us ALL the basics we need to know that are required of us out there. Practical things like:
=Attitude and Character
=Interpersonal Relationship
=Personal and Corporate Leadership
=Time Management and Time Evolution
=Temperaments
=Entrepreneurship (Ability to pick anything and turn it into a business)
=Public speaking and Skilful Communication
=Nigeria taxes and its effect on business
=Business Plan, system and proposal
=Why FAILURE is a necessary TOOL for SUCCESS
=Work and Dining Etiquettes
=Dressing and Clothing for several purpose
=Writing your Curriculum Vitae/Resume
=Trending IT equipments and Office Tools
=Multi-tasking
=How to conduct one's self during job interview
=How to manage Marriage/Love life with work and other things effectively
=How to Transform your Talents and Gifts into financial rewards
=The school will also not tell you that you will NEVER BECOME WEALTHY by being an EMPLOYEE (All what you will hear is study hard, get a good grade, so that you can get a good job. I LAUGH gringringringringringringrin)
=etc etc etc etc etc

ALL THESE THINGS ARE HIDDEN IN ONE BOOK OR THE OTHER.

6. Get a Mentor
A Chinese adage has it that "better than a thousand years of diligent search, is one day with a great Mentor - a great Teacher." Another saying goes, "when we stand on the shoulders of people that have gone ahead of us, we see into the future." Do not only resort to getting a ROLE-MODEL, get a mentor - a person with more experience than you in your chosen field, and be HUMBLE ENOUGH to follow his/her leading and teachings. All great men since the time of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, etc have succeeded following this single principle.

7. Get (a) Professional Certification(s)
Since 1989, we have moved from the INDUSTRIAL AGE to the INFORMATION AGE. In the Information Age, it is no longer how HARD you work any more that count but how SMART. As a result, two kinds of certificates are required of you in the Work Force or Labour Market nowadays: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (like the B.Sc, B.A, B.Ed, B.Tech, LLB, etc. that you have where you earn less if at all) and a PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION (like ICAN, PMP, CCNA, NIMN, OCA, etc. where you earn more)

Believe me when I say that regardless of your Grade in School, a Professional Certification provides better opportunities in the WORK FORCE {i.e. a THIRD CLASS STUDENT with a STANDARD RECOGNISED Professional Certification stands a better chance out there than a student with only SECOND CLASS UPPER (CGPA =4.49)}

8. Know the true Definition of Love
Love goes beyond a plate of Mr. Biggs, a one-time gift of golden chain, a Brazilian hair, a Blackberry phone or Car Key on a Birthday, 5-rounds of GOOD sex, broad chest and shoulders, nice lines extracted from Ramsey Noah, Sexy eyes/looks/endowments, etc. In Marriage, you will need much more than that (which I know that is where most of us are headed).

Love does not stop as an EMOTION - Love is COMPLETELY A RATIONAL CHOICE. This is because when the HEAT (challenges of life and of the relationship) begin to show up, those EMOTIONS die off temporarily or completely. The only guarantee at this time in your relationship is the REASON(s) you cannot let go (Which have to be set aright from the outset while thinking rationally).

Love is not blind - that is an illusion. LOVE SEES CLEARLY AND MAKES CAREFUL CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING COMMITMENT.

Some of the greatest qualities of love are found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. In all my reading, I've not been able to find a perfect replacement for this.

No, he can't use his personal account. It's a must for some banks to visit you while on camp and it is the duty of the camp management to assign people according to their state codes to different banks. So you will check under what bank your code fall and register with the bank. In our camp, ondo state, we were able to get the ATM cards before leaving the camp. That's all. Kbs468 I sight you like halogen lamp!
