enabs20: It is a different ball game for Medical doctors. You need to write 2 stages exams (AMC) and supervision up to 2yrs before you can get your registration/assessment in Australia. After the registration, you can then be talking about PR. It is a long journey but it really what the pain. Go through Australia Medical board and follow through the process. |

mctowel01:You might not get Professional Engineer because ur degree is less than 5yrs but i will advise you to give it a go. Certainly, you will be given at least Engineering Technologist which will still give you 15points. |

I got my national diploma from PTI n then used it to get direct entry for the same petroleum engineering...will this case be different or the same as above? Though I contacted EA about this months back n they said what they'll really look at is the transcript to see uve done what they want u to have done or something like that... NNBB2012: |

lovetrust:She is eligible for PR and her occupation is on the list. She won't get any points from experience whether she uses her HND or MSc. I would advise she should use her MSc so that she can get 15points from qualification and 25points from her age. She really need to do extremely well in English Test. -Read my previous posts for step by step procedure. |

NNBB2012: Thanks, but there's no Mechanical Technician on the SOL and can I use it for this subclass. All every other criteria are intact. |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by mctowel01: 3:33pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
NNBB2012:This is serious o. Does it mean that i wont be eligible to select Engineering occupations like Electrical/automations/controls engineer.. Which is what i have in mind. And if so, what are Engineering technologist jobs.. Like examples? |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by mctowel01: 4:01pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
NNBB2012:I just downloaded their migration information guideline from their site(EA). Here is a screenshot of the page on professional engineers assessment. I guess its 4 years rather than 5 for the Professional Engineer.

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 4:04pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
SUJYDEE:Yes, it is not on SOL list but CSOL list. What it means you can only apply for sponsored visa which you need to meet indicula state sponsorship conditions. 1 Like |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 4:13pm On Mar 27, 2016 |
mctowel01:Yes, it is 4years in Australia which is most times equivalent to 5years overseas except if you graduated from countries that have accord with them. I will advise you should use Professional Engineers template. They might ask you to put it in Engineering Technologist template rather than given you negative outcome. I know two different Engineers; one Mechanical (Unilag) and the other Chemical Engineer (Uni Ben)that were given Engineering Technologist. They applied for Professional Engineer Engineer but were given that. |

NNBB2012: Do you know if they both spent the whole 5 yrs in their various unis or they had ND-to-200level or HND-300 level progression? Maybe any of such could have affected, no? So, does this totally restrict the jobs they can take or overlapping of duties sure happens over there? mctowel01: I recently got my positive assessment as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical); and I did the diploma route into 200 level (Unilag). However, I had an extra semester that added a year to my graduation year and strikes that added another year to total time spent; maybe these peculiarities had an effect. Or maybe not. I mean, the transcript would still show same content- save for the 1st year which is mostly general courses across the faculty. You should apply via fastrack too. |
