I really don't understand why we Nigerians prefer to let our emotions and religious bias over-ride our common sense. I say that with all due respect. What's the fuss? Why do we not always reason objectively?
Firstly, this regulation el-Rufai is proposing is a very great one...because we abuse religion and the rights to practice religion in this country. If you want to engage in religious acts, don't constitute public nuisance. A lot of people would be trampling on the fundamental rights of other people and be using religion to guilt those same people so that those people won't complain. If we all want to preach in our churches and mosques, that's great, but let's not use it to great a menace in the public.
Secondly, if we would all be truthful to ourselves, our Muslim brothers are even more guilty of using these public address systems, and that means it would affect them more now... therefore why are some Christian folks now trying to use sentiments to blackmail el-Rufai?
I respect prophet Suleiman a whole lot, but I don't support how he's going about this.
