August ke? Sane wetin? I am still of the view that July /August remains the worst period to buy ticket going over the Atlantic from Nigeria! If you miss buying one before then, berra wait till September /October to do so if cost counts to you. Greetings

Ogunjobi is my surname, and again can I wear my company's ID card without necessarily getting a letter for vacation, will that do? Thanks in anticipation for your reply

If Tope is your middle name then no problem.

Wearing your company's ID to the interview wouldn't make any difference

Greetings in the house. Hail the Gurus. This is my first time I will make comment in this thread as silence reader. Now about the question, it happened to me in the interview last year 2015, I had 3 names on pee and 2 on confirmation. What happened was that the vo just ask me who is Sogo, which is the third name and I said I. And he said Okay. Although I was denied the visa but I don't know why I was denied : it might be other area but might not connected to the name.

wunmi38:

Can someone give clear response to dos question you have three names on pee and two on the interview confirmation information. What is the way forward

My uncle invited me over for the holiday and he would sponsoring both my trip and expenses.
I have filled the ds 160 form and my interview has been scheduled.
Any advice on how to prepare for the interview and what documents to take
Do I also need to go with a parent ?
Thank you

Tried to avoid asking this que by reading many past pages , but none seems to hit my que on the head.

1. Can 3 siblings (all adults) do group/family interview together. They are going for thier relative wedding in the us.

2. if answer to 1 is yes, are they going to pay for their visa fees together I.e chooses 3 applicants in the bank info or pay separately .

Or better still , how are they to go about it in payments and booking for interview appointment.

NB. They wished to b interviewed together since they are going for d same reason.

@Onicemus, you already sound desperate. Trust me that's the easiest way to reduce your chances.

Just go for your interview with the fact, a clear mind and a composed disposition. Either good or bad there's still hope in the future as long as you didn't ruin your reputation at the interview.

Fill another Ds-160, call the embassy and request that they swap the Ds160 for you. tell them it was because of an error. After some questions/confirmation, you will be good to go.

You have strong financial and family ties that should qualify you for a non-immigrant visa, but your proposed purpose of travel does not make sense. To qualify for a visa, you must demonstrate two things: first, that you have a legitimate purpose of travel, and second, that you intend to return to your home country after the authorized visit.

Consular officer takes into consideration whether the statements made by applicant during the interview and the proposed purpose of travel make sense. The headquarters of your place of worship is not a tourist attraction; visa officer is not interested in hearing this. Also, if you're genuinely going for holidays, visa officers are aware that genuine travellers definitely go shopping while enjoying their holidays, no need enticing the officer.

If you genuinely want to visit Niagra Falls, then your purpose of travel should be holiday/vacation and it's advisable you go with your whole team for the interview at the consulate/embassy.

LadyG surely have something to say.

if all three are adults i've seen cases where they are interviewed individually, the v.o asks the remaining in the group to step aside and they go one one even though they are in a group

as an undergraduate student in 200 level, no one can tell you your chances to get a visa but really do you have good travel history? Why is your uncle sponsoring why not your parents, I doubt the results or letter from school will be checked, a 200 level student can abandon studies and waka no be only one year he don do, if you have good travel history IMO as a student I think that's all that will avail you, all the best with your application, cheers!

Ecdanbel don't say what you are not asked keep your answers simple and short, your answers are really too long, when he asks what are you going to do you go pour all those answers down, just stick with the main purpose of visit because before you pour all that story down v.o would have cut in and asked another question. Cheers

My personal view -
Purpose of trip - 100% OK
Travel history - 100% Ok
Family tie - 100% Ok
Finance - 100% Ok

You may just have to convince the VO why your wife or family isn't going with you.
However, the visa is in you grasp, go ye and get it.

Goodmorning!

Tell me who did not rehearse.... we all rehearsed before we went to the embassy, at least that's what this thread is about.
IMO, he only presented his personalized answers for possible questions. He could only loose it if he fidgets while answering.

I didn't rehearse because i'm not good at craming anything, I just went there with what I know where are you visiting and how long are you staying, we don't have to rehearse actually, but if it works for you fine then go ahead

@Lawyer, I counter your position on his purpose of travel....
People have traveled to the US for flimsy reasons as wanting to see snow/wanting to see a basketball game in LA.
However, the US is home to some churches that they found e.g Jehovah's Witness, Church of the Later Days Saints, Assemblies of God etc.
Loads of people have traveled for religious conference, gathering and anniversary/events.

I see no wrong in his purpose of travel.

Exactly my same thought. Its good to be prepared but don't cram abeg. Be prepared for any question posed anyhow it is couched. Keep an open mind and also keep the answers brief.
Your purpose of travel is ok. If person can travel to see snow, then visiting church headqtrs make sense die.
Go with a copy of your magazine and be prepared for a question on your job functions and why u aren't travelling with the wife.
U have travel history and married with kids. That's good.

Hello
I am also kind of in your shoes but my interview is much later
I would advise you get a letter from your school and your parents allowing you to go
Make sure you also state that you are going for the holiday not to visit your uncle
Be confident too and make it as conversational as possible.
Could you also post your experience here after the interview?
I noticed there is no thread for university students going on holiday alone.
Best wishes.

First of all The way you explained why you wanna visit the U.S is wrong and also with what you earn you should be able to afford to take your wife with you at least and also can you merge what you earn and tell the V.O the amount at once not trying to brag about where the pay comes from and how much.
