My chairman, though you may not agree with him but not everyone has the thick skin that I have and use to deal with certain inconsequential sectors of mouth breathers that we have on here.

That's the unfortunate situation that the internet affords to internet cowards that sits behind their keyboards and cycles between multiple userids like the forum queens that they are.

Sharing ones project means many things to many people. For me, I'm not looking for critique or acceptance. Just basically sharing though I'm open to intelligent viewpoint from specific folks who are not just writing a bash fest to stroke their feminine egos. ( Eyin agba lesowipe, eni to bama funni lasowo, ti orun re lakowo). To others sometimes they do yearn for that feedback from demonstrated builders.

By the way, thanks for the vendor recommendation, I was impressed by the healthy respect he has for you.
Baba, it really helps sharing project and cost of the project. People visit this section just to learn from builders who have experience and it will make them prepare for the up coming challenges when building their home.

It's not easy for someone to think of buying land talk less of building house o cheesy . I do respect people who don't eat with all their fingers. cool

Nlders are funny set of ppl, you don't need to take anybody serious o, just do your thing.

Hope the bro talk well sha?

BTW nice one Lastpage. Gba! I see you.

Pride they say, truly goes before a fall! This Cliché has been proven true, since time immemorial.

I recall about two years ago, when we were all imploring Lekki Gardens to "take it easy and listen" to the complaints of his tenant and those pointing out possible errors in his business-model, he was this arrogant and dismissive of everyone..... except himself.

But then, when the shyte hits the fan, it is the innocent people that paid dearly with their lives...... reason why "Good men should never keep quiet, when they see wrong". Whether the pig-headed fella listens, is a different ball game.

You see, this foul-mouthed guy reminds me of an African Animal called IMPALA! Yorubas call it Igala
This animal is very agile and athletic so much so that it can leap up into the air (for no apparent reason!) for 10ft and horizontally for as much as 36ft! Now, wont you agree with me, that is a fearsome feat?
But unlike other animals it does not have the sense to run-away from predators despite its explosive speed! It rather jumps into the Bush, thinking it cannot be seen! grin

But more importantly, the Yorubas have a saying: Pelu gbogbo gegedugu Igala (Impala), ilaa lo'nfi j'ika lo'oko! shocked shocked
Okay, let me give a literal translation in English: "Despite all the athleticism of the Impala, the best it could use it for, is to rustle Okara in the farm! shocked shocked

There are people on this Nairaland that have built up to three different house/Mansions in the last few years...... doing so quietly without being haughty and discourteous to others.
They ask questions and take differing opinions in their stride without insulting everyone within eyesight.....

But this neophyte takes a whole lifetime to build this cheap, structurally-deficient-ramshackle ...yet gathers pictures all over the internet, employs drummers and his village 'Egungun' (Masquerade) to come and have a dance because of his American-wonder!

Put your Mouth, where your money is. undecided
Despite the internet and Nairaland affording us the cover of anonymity, it does not take the FBI to know a struggling, 9-5 labourer "trying to belong".
While it is not a crime to "try to belong", it should be done with some measure of humility. ..... as against crass arrogance!

Is the price hike as a result of the usual penchant for over-profiteering by the Quarry owners (and should therefore be resisted, we are with you on that)

.... or as a result of some other "external factors" (for example, a "forex-denominated" input in the production process?) beyond the control of the Quarry owners? In which case, it might be inevitable!

Notwithstanding, whatever checks inflation within the polity, will be welcomed.

There's one old guy that sells CDs at Beere, all I have to do is whistle the tune or sing the lyrics and he'll disappear into the back of his store and come out with the correct CD. We couldn't figure out one Epo Akara song though.
