ELDERSON ECHIEJILE 5/10
Took the place of Stanley Amuzie at the start of the second half and did little to change the complexion of the game.

If he did little, how did he get a five? Salah was more free. Can the writer tell me what Echiejile did better than Amuzie.
Did Echiejile pass better? No.
Did Echiejile make better runs? No.
Did Echiejile make better crosses? Hell No.
Did Echiejile make more faulty passes? For sure.

So how did he get a five. I wish someone can tell me that.

This is the problem with the people running our football, they will never hire a good foreign coach for the eagles . They will likely hire a failure to coach the eagles, one that will definitely fail. They will then comeback to tell us why it is good to trust in local coaches.

You don't like Cuper, too negative and plays ridiulous football. Who cares? Egyptians don't care about all these. They've waite for close to years and missed 3 afcons, now they are back thanks to Hector cuper. They don't play attractive football but our star studded eagles can't even defeat them. To miss 3 afcons no be beans ooooo.

Good for Egypt. With our rising talents, we need a coach who can bring out the best in the players. If we want to park bus and call ourselves good, then we should go for it. For me it is ridiculous and just winning leads to a long of mediocre.

If we approached the games well, from a better venue like Port-Harcourt, the right approach and selections in both games, we will beat the Cuper people are celebrating now.

Our problem is bigger than coaching. The administration of football needs a revolution.

Then tell us where Aminu Umar played? Tell us why the in experience Amuzie was invited in the first place?

Then i will know if it is "ironically". If you are from NFF or Siasia tell them you failed woefully in your mission to deceive some people here. Thanks
Lol... understand a brother before you attack. You've been an advocate for the inclusion of fresh faces for the Egypt tie which would also amount to experiments since they've never been tested in a national team set up, not to talk of a high profile match like this. You can understand how ironical it was for you to slam siasia for experimenting when in reality it is all you've ever wanted him to do.

U are not explaining the starting 11 and subs.

What do you want me to explain? If the coach brings a list the Technical committee do not like, will they clap for the coach or ask the coach to make changes?

As soon as that happens, it is interference and no more one hundred percent the coaches team list.

When i said experimenting i meant to say Aminu Umar was played as a supporting striker/ attacking midfielder when he has never played in that position for his club in recent times.

I didn't support the inclusion of mediocre players. All i had advocated for was tested and trusted players in European leagues. Surely, Aminu Umar and Amuzie were never part of my tested and trusted players.

What proof do you want again? It is public that the NFF technical committee demands for the team lists. Chris Green wanted Coach Oliseh's list so Coach Oliseh will not Coach the team and fail. This is public on blogs and forums. One mews articles.

That means if they do not like the list, they will suggest what they think it is right. That is interference

Experimenting players at this crucial stage is unacceptable. How can you bring a winger to play as an attacking midfielder just because you want to include him in the team to make ego?

Aminu Umar plays as a winger in his club.

This is modern football. Iwobi started as a winger at Arsenal. He was experimented as an AM in an FA Cup game and it worked. Etebo and Iheanacho can also play both as wingers and as AMs plus Etebo can play as CM.

Most CF/Strikers can also play as wingers eg Ahmed Musa.

So nothing wrong with that.

TheGoodJoe:

You are mixing direct play as impact. When you guys hailed Aminu, I just shook my head because you guys missed a big fact

The Egyptians were looking for an Equalizer. They pushed forward and had gaps at their back. So Aminu had the space to look good.

Unlike Iheanacho who dealt with a compact defence. He had to drop deep a lot of time to make the team tick.

Today, Aminu's impact was not there and there was no one to make the connection between the midfield and attack. That is whe we looked stronger when Iwobi came on.

Something that was very obvious? Aminu brought more fluidity in the middle and combined better with the attackers. The Egyptians even when 1goal down still maintained there shape and didn't really pose much attacking threat.
Iheanacho was mostly lost in the game. The only 2/3 times he was really noticed were when once or twice he came back to d midfield to pick the ball and then when he rattled d upright.

If you saw my prefered starting 11, i put him(Iheanacho) as the lone CF cos i know his development has shifted more towards d striker's position and less of the AM position. Iwobi is our best AM player right now and he has made a big claim to d starting line up for d Olympics.

The thing with you my friend TheGoodJoe is anything that involves Iheanacho u are always too sentimental. And that usually affects ur sense of judgement. To u he can never do anything wrong. The other players are Nigerians too.

I am not sentimental when it concerns Nacho as you guys think. When I say play Iheanacho ahead of Bony, it is not just sentiments. It is because his style of play adds more to the team.

Everyone who reads most of my comments have read me write Mikel is the best passer in the Super Eagles. Now, are you not seeing me write Iwobi is the best passer. I did not see anyone write that I am sentimental to Mikel.

When Mourinho benched Mikel regularly, I wrote repeatedly that Mikel was a better player than Matic. Many argued I said that because of Sentiments. Today many will agree otherwise.

I Manchester City can sign Griezmann, I will not complain if Guardiola drops Nacho for him. I will want Iheanacho to study Griezmann.

Coach Siasia picking Aminu was the wrong option. When Iwobi came on, you could see us creating more chances. With Nacho there, we would have had more fluidity to penetrate the wall of Egypt.

Aminu looked good in the first game because of the gaps created by the Egyptians who pushed forward. In a compact defence, you need more creative play than direct. Nacho would have been a better pick. This is a fact, not sentiments.

Did I say Iwobi was not our best AMF. When I made my list, Did I not put Iwobi there?

We are talking of a striker who is most creative in the Super Eagles. Please tell me the attacker in the Super Eagles who pass better than Iheanacho.

If Egypt were not a goal down in Kaduna, Aminu will not have that space. Leave saying I am sentimental to Nacho and let us look at the facts.

In a compact and rigid Egyptian defence, Aminu is the wrong partner for Ighalo.

Iheanacho still contributed more to the team winning at Kaduna. He was our best forward that day. He contributed more direct shots.

How many direct shots did Aminu have in both games?

Nice. Very nice. Abeg eh... please "Cc" the Big Ogas and madams in the house on the new thread.

Any issue that has to do with this AFCON loss for now can be wrapped up in this AFCON thread.

For the new thread, We can start by showing how far we've come in our Journey to Russia 2018, the upcoming draws in June and upcoming Qualifiers kickoff in October.

Then we include a bit of history.... Nigeria's previous World cup Journeys (Qualifiers to World cup proper).

The name for the new thread is okay but will add a little to it.... "The New Super Eagles Thread: Russia 2018 WC and The Dawn of a New Era (The Next Golden Generation)".

I merge the Russia 2018 journey with the rise of the Next Super Golden Generation because after August (The Olympics), We now have a large pool of the Super Talents we talk about so much on the U-23 thread move up to the "Official radar" of the Super Eagles. They'll no longer be regarded as U-23 except for a select few like Awoniyi and Osimhen for instance who could still make it to the 2020 Olympics.

Note: A few of the old legs will still be available to usher in this Golden Generation's early dawn.

My forcecast:
I see the Golden Generation period as one that takes clearer early shape as from early 2017 then continues to Russia 2018/Afcon 2019 to Olympics 2020 (Osimhen, Nwakali, Yahaya, Awoniyi, Azubuike, etc and a host of others that will still rise) and to Qatar 2022 (the super merge) and then beyond..........
...............................................................................
After or just before the climax of Russia 2018, a newer thread can be opened titled, "The New Super Eagles Thread- Series 2: Afcon 2019, The Golden Generation rises"

Then threads for Afcon 2021, Qatar 2022 (chaiii, I'll be 30 by then and gone permanently to HHMI and all that..... #smiles..... Abegiii, Super Eagles in my blood always.... #smiles)
will follow showing the "METAMORPHOSES" OF NIGERIA'S NEXT SUPER GOLDEN DECADES.....

Get the picture? #smiles

But first "Cc" the other Top Ogas and Madams on the new thread you've just created.... Thank you Sir. #smiles
