Musa was never Captain material to begin with. I can understand the rationale behind Oliseh naming him captain, but Musa simply doesn't have the personality. Enyeama was the perfect captain and it's unfortunate that he left the way he did.

Mikel is better than Musa. Shikena!

So is it Musa that is consistent to you? Off and on Musa? Bros abeg no make me use the vex wey I dey vex for Siasia ontop you this night. Imagine saying Musa is a better captain than Mikel, NEVER!
Both Mikel and Musa were Thrash today. We all now Musa only knows how to run but Mikel?! That dude is one of Super Eagles biggest problems a Midfielder that doesn't track back or supports he attack, all e does is jog about the pitch.
I have never seen Mikel drives the ball forward even when the opposition leaves a big space from Ojuelegba to ikorodu, he never ever tracks back to help the defense, he never shows any form of urgency or passion on the pitch. Never. That guy IS THE WORST PERSON TO BE THE CAPTAIN. I can't wait for the day he will be send out of the team. Yes I don't like him playing for Eagles just like I don't like Musa doing same the only difference between the two Musa shows Hunger for the Ball must times

then who do you nominate for that position?

Mikel is scrupulously the ideal person to handle such office. the dude was fabulous today. To be frank, Mikel, Moses and Iwobi were the real Nigerian players I saw in that field. With Mikel being preeminent and showing his co-ordinating and organising good qualities of a Leader.

na back of TV u dey watch, mikel stand still midfielder wey no dey push 4ward. Moses nd iwobi fantastic i wish i av like 4 of dem on d pitch..

Lets go by your insinuation of “who the team respect”.

Judging by the game today, to who's charisma did the players play to today?

Because of Musa's impotency today, the players began to snub him, and he had to come to the centre to struggle for the ball, but still, he was still neutral.

And being a captain transcends playing football performance on the pitch. it has to do with being a very good technocrat. of which there is a consensus that Mikel possesses such qualities than Musa

For instance, an attribute of a skipper portrays being a good spokesman, and who does the Job better? Mikel or Musa?.

4me to bliv wat u said point out a truball pass mikel passed to d attackers in frnt, so if u're in a team u'll play ur own part to d tune of d player u want nt for d team abi, u go choose player above ya yeam?. Giv me 1 goodtechnocrat dat mikel has which musa doesnt have (stop being biased). If i may ask u, if u're to live by an example would u live by mikel example "rude, arrongant, pride". No use sentiment dey tlk nxt time.

In as much as it pains me to get enemies here onNL....I feel.....you are a bigot. Is He the only player on that field. Ighalo, Moses, Mikel, Iwobi........all of those players (Ighalo exclusive) have no guaranteed first team football in there various clubs. Musa is consistent, scores and has better work rate.
So, in your little (myo) commentary, its Musa's fault that our midfield were clueless......what happened to Ighalo.....Jeesssssss

...

..
Egypt were better organised in defence which renders our attack biteless....they had a game plan to prevent our midfield from giving the last pass.....and they succeded,

your post shows you're a football follower not pundit.to me,besides moses,Mikel was my best player tonight. he did what busquet does for barcelona coordinating play from defence to the mildfied. The problem we had were musa,Aminu and immobile oghenekaro.the transition from midfield to attack was very poor.If musa had replicated Moses effort,we could have won.The Egyptians were not fantastic.

musa looked disinterested....our midfield lost balls many times needlessly....ighalo plays one dimensional football as a striker, how efe gets into that team still beats me......what about one muhammed that captained the victorous golden eaglets of 2013?? dat guy is gud at right full back..

I nominate Musa. He is reliable and consistent though he has a few off days, but he has a better consistency than Mikel.

In 2 months now, we will again heap blames of Mikel for his usual abysmal performance. Captaincy doesn't belong to a midfielder but someone who the team respects

Someoene who the team respects indeed! Na which day Musa sabi play ball? The only outstanding performance Musa has ever done was against Argentina in the last world cup, asides that I hate dat guy's style of play, run run run then cross from flank over the crossbar

I never admire Mikel's style of play. He falls down a lot and he lacks consistency. But Musa is a star. He is inwardly affected by the latest development.

But what is wrong with our Super Eagles? They hardly impress Nigerians as Super Falcons, Flying Eagles and Eaglets do.

There is need to re-organize the team, look for a competent coach and properly fund the team to boost their spirit.
Re: Did The Transfer Of Captaincy Affect Musa's Performance? by Nobody: 7:43am On Mar 30, 2016
Musa's game was terrible in the match. He does not have leadership skills required of a captian. Same with Mikel though Mikel is preferred.

Also Super Eagles are having a dose of bad luck. Imagine if Moses had scored the 2nd goal in Kaduna or we had not conceded last minute goal or Chad had not withdrawn or Moses had scored the ball that hit bar in Egypt....

Psychologically it did.

I am of an opinion that Mikel doesn't deserve the captains hand band. Mikel is inconsistent and he can't lead the Eagles. He also doesn't merit the Number 10 jersey.
Was he the captain wen he performed well against Argentina in world cup?
I don't really know what you guys stand to gain with all this ur tribalism.
God will punish all tribalist in this thread.
Let the oldest in the team wear the captain arm band #simple

D super eagles wil always sink until we stop been tribalistic. Apart frm moses, who else played 2 expectation? Its nt abt who captain d team, its abt wining! Those boys played rubbish,i somehw blame siasia tactics, musa was nt in dat match n he left him on d pitch,Ighalo if nt suported cnt do much-shuld av bin substituted . Mikel? I am stil wonderin if he doesnt watch Yaya Toure(dat midfield drive) n we were cryn fowl wen he was nt given African best. Siasia shuld av used Onazi,n substituted musa 4 moses simon n Iheanacho 4 Ighalo- both coach n players nid 2 understand dat Ighalo is nt Aguero dat cn beat 2 or 3 players n score a goal,he nids assistance. Sunday O. Saw dis cumin n resigned. We shuld gv Siasia another chance,at least he is man enough.

I presume the sudden transfer of captaincy by coach Siasia from Musa to Mikel infused a psychological effect on Musa, even if he was the one that announce the change and appeared okay with it.

This is the Musa that is currently recording sublime performance for his club side and did a superb Job in the last edition of the World Cup especially against Argentina.

His performance in the two legged matches against Egypt was deplorable to the extent that if one decides to rate him as a player with such criterion, he will not be rated above those lesser average players playing in the streets.

He made a lot of ludicrous passes especially today, and he was totally neutral and innoxious in the game causing the Egyptian defenders to worry less about his threats and there by moving forward to assist in pressurizing our .defense.

We need decorum and tactfulness in our football.

No, the coach needs to know when a player is under performing and ruining the play. Then he should substitute him.
Not wait for two matches for us to lose.

Captains are players that hate defeat. Players that are inspirational. Players that score goals. Players that motivate their team. Players that don't blame their team mates on the pitch. The list is endless, but in 9ja the captain is the oldest serving player

What if the oldest serving players possess such qualities should he be deprived?

Mikel is fit.
