Lol. It's not something you are missing, it's everything.

Buying at 0.50kobo in itself does not mean your carrying cost is 0.50, it might be 0.52 - 0.53 depending on transaction charges, and a stock at 0.50 means it's very illiquid and would be difficult to cash out till whenever or never.

You should instead go for Penny stocks; like:
Transcorp
FCMB
Wema (Support your gf. Lol)
Skye

et al.

Lol, thanks for clarifying. As far as the market goes, I'm starting to realise things are not the way they seem.

As for the bolded, she told me not to say what I wanted to say to you grin

You are calculating dividend yield. A company that made a decline YoY in their PAT, yet still paid a dividend more than they paid in FY2014..

That's what you call: Blue Chip

I just looked at the result and operating profits were better this year. The difference between profits for the year for last year and this year was a one-off "gain on disposal of investment property" last year.

If USD gets to #1000, in all honesty, will you not shift your junction upwards?

Since mid-last yr some of us have been calling for devaluation out of patriotism but some don't get it.

Now you can see the CBN stringent rules has boomerang, Round-tripping has become the order of the day and the sharp ones are getting richer at the expenses of the masses.

On my last trip to Nigeria I discover western now pays in Naira at the official rate of N199 per USD when one can comfortably remit @N320 via the black market.

Now tell me a right thinking person that will still use such channels for remittance.

Dollars scarcity has made alot of businesses and importers gone limbo.

I was in kenya few days back their official rate was 98shillings per USD and its 100% available so the bottomline is without the right pricing of Naira the Nigeria economy will continue to suffocate.

Unfortunately for you I am very huge already. I am very successful in my chosen field. So your curse is belated. But you, you life is hopelessly worthless. It shall never be well for you as long as Satan lives.

You are not missing anything... but if you must buy one of those, make sure it is very liquid i.e, regularly traded if not you money can be stuck for donkey years when you are ready to sell and there is no buyer.

Also you have to watch for the SEC's pronouncements because anyday they remove the floor you can bet that your N0.50k will turn to N0.01k (See Unity Bank for more details)

What happened to unity bank?

You come here to spill rubbish because you earn foreign currency. You want naira to sell at N1000 so that a 750k salary will become just 750 dollars. You are wishing your fellow country men evil. Alot here curse you everyday I just decided to write it so you can read it. Oloshi oriburuku

Permit me to give you these words of wisdom. It will also be a great blessing to you. Please read and meditate on them:

1. ON EARNING:
Never depend on single income. Make investment to create a second chance.

2. ON SPENDING:
If you buy things you do not need, soon you will have to sell things you need.

3. ON SAVINGS:
Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.

4. ON TAKING RISK:
Never test the depth of a river with both feet.

5. ON INVESTMENT:
Do not put all eggs in one basket.

6. ON EXPECTATIONS:
Honesty is a very expensive gift. Do not expect it from cheap people.

7. IF YOU are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present. Past is a waste paper. Present is a newspaper and future is a question paper.

8. WHEN bad things happen in your life you have three choices. You can either let it define you, let it destroy you or you can let it strengthen you.

9. EMPTY pockets teach you a million things in life but full pockets spoil you in a million ways.

10. OUR EYES are in the front because it is more important to look ahead than to look back.

11. WE USED a pencil when we were small but now we use pens... do you know why? Because mistakes in childhood can be erased but not now.
So read and write carefully otherwise life will be a tissue paper.
Hope you are blessed. Bless others. Enjoy the weekend.

On Fidelity; Fidelity is not a buy at current price. If I had it in my portfolio, I would be looking to sell asap. Good dividend declaration by the bank might not yield considerable price appreciation because the market so far in not responding to such news. One can also argue that the current price already reflects the anticipated price target.

This is a personal opinion.
