Man Describes Ordeal ....says Its Risky To Me A Man by Nobody: 11:39am On Mar 30, 2016
My children and I were victims of DV by my wife of 29 years. She spiraled into alcoholism and slowly ruined everyone's life in the last seven years of our marriage. I spent ten's of thousands of dollars on rehab and counseling for her and my family and the problem only got worse. I had her arrested three times and each time it took HOURS of cross examination of me and my children by the Police to convince them of what was happening. They just could not believe a man would find himself in such a predicament. It was like "hey man, why can't you control your wife?" The situation became critical when she would drive my daughter drunk when picking her up at school. At that point we would find her in the flower beds, passed-out. She started fires in the kitchen. I found her one morning flat on the floor of the kitchen passed-out. She would hit, scratch, vomit and throw things at me. After her last arrest, they made her go to a halfway house which seemed to help. We brought her back into our lives, but she instantly started again. At this point, having spent three years trying to save our family, I asked her to leave. I packed all her clothes, put them in the car and pointed to the street. I waited three months to file for divorce as I knew it would ruin our economic lives but then she did an unforgivable thing to my daughter and that was the last straw. I once was a wealthy man, living in a very upscale place. We have lost it all. I was $500,000 in debt due to lawyers and court costs. But that is not the end of my story. What has sapped all my money that would have put my daughter through college or paid for her wedding was the five years of legal battles due to the fact the judge would not charge my ex with the crimes she committed. And she kept on committing crimes; she broke into my house four times!  She made a spectacle of herself and us at my daughter's school. It was so bad I had to get restraining orders against her which cost even more. But the worst part of all was that I knew if the situation had been reversed, I would be rotting in jail for many, many years. Instead, my ex lives in a beautiful condo, no job and collects HALF of my pay, leaving my abused daughter and I to foot the bill. The lessons I learned are (1) being a man today is a risky thing, (2) the courts DO NOT and WILL NOT treat a woman as they do a man, (3) the current tsunami of HATE against men in the press and elsewhere is imbalanced and I am convinced that the pendulum of social change to provide women equal rights has swung too far. It must be righted.

Na wa o,na woman cause all this one? Sounds far-fetched.

Anyway, there are three sides to every story.

Like the poster above me, No one will believe a woman can make life hell for a man. This story doesn't seen like it happened in Nigeria though but nevertheless some women take advantage of the fact that society frowns on any man who goes physical with them and tend to pass their boundaries.
