Members of Nigerians united for progressive change took to the street of Abuja on March 30 to protest the current state of the nation. The group’s members who frowned at the economic quagmire the country is facing under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions. The group which picketed the federal capital territory caused discomfort for motorists and other road users though the protest was peaceful. It is believed that the group decided to protest in the FCT in order to send a quick message to the presidency on the current state of the nation. Nigeria is in a very dire situation as everything seem to be on a standstill. The country’s power generation had dropped drastically, and getting fuel to power generators is a very big problem, especially as one is greeted with long queues in the few filling stations that have the commodity to sell. The citizens are yet to see a well detailed economic blueprint to look up to, and to make matter worse, President Buhari is yet to sign the 2016 appropriation bill into law because of some obvious and avoidable glitches from the National Assembly. jcross19: PDP failed yes....16 years of backwardness out of which 6years were wasted by GEJ and a PDP apologist will come out today to critisice a Govt less than a year, a Govt whose budget is yet to kicks start as if we have forgotten the past pains and agony Nigerians have been through. Well, most of us are not victims of short memory. Even in school, assessment is not at the begining of the semester but rather at the end. Only sentiment will critisice this Govt at this time. 1 Like |

jcross19: Too early to critisice and assess APC led FG. The time would soon be ripe. PDP was never my choice and so was APC. Be that as it is, its too too early to wail about APC. At least, the wailing should nt come from PDP apologist because PDP pushed Nigerians into electing a bad Govt (ApC) if APC is really bad. No one would have voted APC if PDP was a better choice or had done well. |

jcross19: This Govt is taking a new course away form the old norm.... It would not be an easy ride. It still too early. What would you tell of a Govt that took over 2000 megawatts of power from the millitary and was still dangling between 2000 to 3000 mega watts after 16 years despite the reforms, despite the 16 billion dollars spent by OBJ, despite the Yar adua declaring state of emergency on the power sector. With all the above effort, the achievement was at best a colosal failure. Stating the above in consideration to other sector, the new Govt new to chat a new course towrds develpment and this process wont be easy at at. A bit of sacrifice is needed, hence my assertion that my assessment would come after all the efforts put in place by the current Govt. Three years is not plenty years from now. 1 Like |

jogojogo:can't you get it? The same buffoon in pdp made up the same apc so what's the different? People like ogbe?lai mohammad?el rufai?like atiku? A.c.n like tinubu? Abi all of them are yam eaters or amaechi? All of them are wrong choice. Basic. Apc and pdp are of thesame even the first year of jonathan was not like this and it ended in disaster , see the first year of this government is bitter than bitter leaf. Some are crying now for 65% increase in electric tariff. |
