zoboizee:U probably meant Moses Simon. I am pretty sure u know only 18 players will make it. So this might jst be a list of players to hustle for places. I will also add: William Troost-Ekong Shehu Abdullahi Kingsley Madu Sincere Seth Ifeanyi Mathew Paul Onuachu Chisom Chikatara Aaron Samuel Michael Olaitan I still maintain we dnt need Ighalo in this Team. 3 Likes |

Icon4s: I stopped including Solanke because he stopped scoring goals but when i later discovered that he was out due to injury. I gave him a benefit of doubt and the boy never disappointed by repling with two goals immediately he was introduced in the 75th minutes. Check that list again, you will see he is a starter. Besides that, I don't follow crowd to give a resounding judgement |

forgiveness: Each nation must submit a squad of 18 players, 15 of which must be born on or after 1 January 1993, and 3 of which can be older dispensation players, by August 4th 2016. A minimum of two goalkeepers (plus one optional dispensation goalkeeper) must be included in the squad. Also see: http://www.rio2016.com/sites/default/files/users/rio2016_files/fifa-football-en_0.pdf The implication of this rue : If you must include 3 over-aged players u can only select 15 U23 players. Only 18 players will make it to Rio. 1 Like |

forgiveness: You can see that the team will not be for mediocre players. I hope mediocrity will nt be tolerated. And Siasia should not apply sentiments in the invitation of players. Let only the best and nothing but the best make it to Rio. I envisage a very controversial final 18-man list. Which may be made up of 15 U23 and 3 Over-aged players. Many "big" U23 names will be dropped. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Nobody: 5:30pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
My problem with Siasia is that he seems not to get it right with his defense. He shouldn't forget how it has spelt doom for his team. A closer look at the last U23 nations cup and 9ja Super can attest to this fact.. Sometimes, his sub cost him games. If he can fix that, we will come back home with the Olympics trophy 1 Like |

forgiveness: There is another Fifa window arnd 3rd of June. The NFF should b able to arrange a friendly for the full U23 team. Full bc that would have been d week we were supposed to play Chad. So no match for d Super Eagles. We should maximise that chance to test d team we want to present in Rio. I wish we can play 2 high profile friendlies in Europe using that window. Wont b bad if we test our might against U23 sides of Spain and/or Germany. 2 Likes |

Icon4s: As usual, I agree with you. We have a lot of talents in this country but no formidable team. Sorry for this digression, Egypt won our national team not because they have better talents than us but better team managed by a better administrator. They played couple of friendly matches before our match and were able to bring a solid squad all under a single coach unlike Nigeria that played 4 matches under 3 different coaches with different set of players. Point for this digression is that we need to test our boys with friendlies so as to raise a formidable team . Names, talents wouldn't bring us gold but a formidable team under an intelligent manager . |

[b] ALAMPASU RETURNS Nigeria youth international Dele Alampasu who was recently operated for appendicitis is set to return for CD Feirense. The ailment cost the 18 year old a spot in Nigeria’s U-23 team that defeated Brazil 0-1 but will be on the bench tomorrow for his Portuguese side when they take on Olhanense tommorow in a second division game. Tommorow’s game a potential promotion decider between 5th place Feirense and 6th place Portimonense might have as many as four Nigerians on the pitch but Alampasu will most likely be contented with a spot on bench. However his teammate Sunday Emmanuel the one cap Super Eagles forward will most likely get game time while Portimonense are likely to feature the duo of Musa Yahaya and Fidelis Irhene. Alampasu is yet to make his league debut for 5th place CD Feirense but keeps goal for them in cup games particularly the League cup in Portugal, the highlight been his clean sheet against league giants FC Porto. TheGoodJoe:I have always known the boy as a striker. Even in the Netherlands when he was on loan with Chelsea' feeder ( or sort of ) team, he was played upfront. Solanke I have never seen play and won't judge him but he dominated the youth league scoring 46 or there about goals. In the same league where Alex Iwobi played. Different positions but 46 goals No be beans abeg. |
