Hmmmmmm,On a good day Aribisala is a joker but he raised some valid points, 1.Our institutions need to be strong,d present structure of Efcc and Icpc cannot make it fight corruption effectively.Corruption agencies shld be controlled by an independent judiciary to ensure even d president can be investigated. 2.A system that allows a president to withdraw directly from d treasury without any form of check in place is definitely faulty,if we recover all d loot stolen by GEJ and co and we fail to change d system,it will grow wings again. 3.Drs no how u can justify d fact that only petitions against PDP members see d light of day,any corrupt politician be it Apc or Pdp shld face d music squarely. Finally Oga Sagay,U wld have simply made ur point without touching pples sense of self importance,I wonder hw old men like sagay who watched as Nigeria degenerated into its present situation think dy have d right to put down anybody. 5 Likes |

Did you read the post carefully? How can naira to dollar be 199 at official rate and 350 at black market? Isn't that corruption itself? How can cbn only recruit kids of top shot? What is the criteria been used in selecting our minister's? How can ameachi be under pdp all his political life and now he's in apc claiming to be a saint... Why is oby or sagay beating around the bush? They're part of the reason why a lot of nigerians are suffering now and sagay indirectly abusing Mr aribisala only shows that he himself ain't a serious element.. Ozid: 3 Likes |

Amanwulu1:Sir, I respect your opinion about this issue but my question is "where was Aribisala when Jonathan govt where meting hardship on the people. People like Aribisala are not happy with this govt because is not biz as usual. I will take Aribisala serious when he commend things that have been done well in this administration and bring out constructive criticism on any bad policy. There is no country free of corruption and there might be pockets of corrupt activities going on in this govt but as i said Aribisala have no moral standi to critize this govt because he supported corrupt govt of Jonathan. |

Aribinonsene. Those who agreed to share a stage with the nuisance of a man have themselves to blame. Everybody is corrupt does not mean that a fight against the ogre should be applauded. On the students, Isn't it obvious that Nigerians are not educated to think? We cram our way through school and hungry stomach was always a recurring decimal after blowing all your funds on mammy holy water at the starts of the semester This takes me back to what I said 2 days ago about how western countries groom people for leadership. |

Some times I wonder if this Amber Rose headed wide mouthed ugly woman knows what she is doing. This is a woman who served under PDP and even introduced the wackiest system of education in Nigeria. As if that was not enough she spearhead fraudulent #BBOG campaign to attract cheap popularity and succeeded in deceiving the gullible Nigerians yet the girls are no where to be found. Apparently, she is doing all these to curry favoour from the present administration. 1 Like |
Re: Sagay, Ezekwesili, Aribisala Clash At Roundtable On Corruption War by Moheat(m): 9:39pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
Mr. Aribisala said the current fight
against corruption by the President
Muhammadu Buhari government is
merely a fight against the Peoples’
Democratic Party (PDP).
“We have to make up our minds if we
really want to deal with the question
of corruption. If we want to deal
with the question of corruption,
Nigerians themselves must insist on
it and we have to deal with it at the
institutional level,” he said.
“The institutional fight against
corruption that has taken place to
the extent that it has, took place
under PDP. The institutional
structures, even the ones that the
present government is relying on,
are PDP structures. Whether it is
EFCC, ICPC, TSA, all these came
under PDP.
“In ten months of Buhari’s
government, there has been no
institutional structure that has been
laid against corruption. We have
simple had media circuses accusing
people of corruption.
“You cannot fight corruption with
corruption. And corruption is more
than just the stealing of money. If
you disobey the rule of law, you
have corrupted the system. If you
create an avenue where you have a
big margin between the official
foreign exchange rate and the
parallel market rate, there’s gonna
be corruption. If you have children
of the rich getting into the CBN on
nepotistic grounds, the corruption is
still with you.
“If you have a budget that is
padded left right and centre, and
after this was revealed you passed
it and say only a small amount
changed in it, and we do not know
what is in the new budget, you can’t
say you are against corruption.
There is no transparency in any of
these things.”
Mr. Aribisala further stated that the
current anti-corruption effort lacks
a clear focus.
“Because the last 16 years was not
just PDP government,” he said.
“The legacy parties of the APC were
also in power. In fact when the PDP
was ostensibly dealing with
corruption, it addressed people in its
own party. We are not having that
now.
“And that’s why I can’t trust
Falana’s prescription that we are
going to establish special courts. I
don’t trust this government to
establish those courts. They will
simply establish courts to decimate
the opposition.
“People like Orubebe will be
arrested, and they will file cases
against him and several months later
they will drop the charges against
him. And they will have pronounced
him guilty in the newspapers on
charges that will later on be
dropped. That is not a fight against
corruption.” 1 Like |
